This part is the exact OEM replacement. It installed easily.

Found the part we needed no problem. Installed and fit as well as the part it was replacing. Shower is working same as it was before the old balancer started failing (we replaced the cartridge as well just to be proactive). Hope to get at least 10 years out of this one like the original.

Didn't do what i hoped it would.

The reason for the purchase was to stop a leak in my shower... the replacement was straightforward, but the dripping continued.

Do not purchase American Standard equipment.

There is a drip at the shower head.

Dirt in hot water tank was restricting flow at valve.

So happy I find it very easy to install great products.

Easy to install. Remember to keep all the other parts from the existing unit (e.g. screws) as this package only includes the cartridge; nothing more.

It’s a great product. I just wish American standard did like Moen and Delta and had a one piece cartridge design rather than the cartridge and balancer piece. Or that the Home Depot app said “hey you may need this piece” and showed the temperature balancer rather than a pair of pliers and a roll of teflon tape. So if you buy this piece, save yourself the second trip and get the other piece. Both pieces replaced will solve that lukewarm to hellfire thing and eliminate the water hammer issue as well.

This part bolts on to the balancing unit, and is less likely to cause a leak than the balancing unit itself. Handle the bolts with care, and do not overtighten

Easy swap for our shower that stopped mixing the cold water well after eleven years. Still trying to reset the temperature limit to avoid scolding, but that is not fault of this unit!

My bathroom faucet leaked from the handle, but all I needed was to replace this part. It was super-easy to install.

This American Standard 47 MM 1 Handle Trim Valve Cartridge is no good. I still can not adjust the temperature (medium temp) for my family to take shower. This is not a cartridge to sell to pupblic. I demand to have my money back

Exactly what I needed, we were having issues with the shower. It would sputter when I go from cold to hot. Wasn’t sure what the issue was until I looked online. Apparently they wear out over time. I will be honest it was fairly simple to replace, Allen key, and a pair of plyers to pull it out. It was a one for one replacement. Happy lowes had it in stock and cheaper by a few dollars from the other big box store.
