This is not a cheap purchase (but WM's price was $30 less than was shown for the item on the place with the Z in its name). If you have limited space, it is perfect for you. Some knowledge of how turntables work is a help in setting it up. It sure wasn't like my setting up complete systems many years ago, BUT...everything is included. A major plus. It is somewhat versatile (works with bluetooth; external speakers can be added). I will enjoy it more when I have more music to play on it. Still quite new.

[Rewarded Review] Nice record player all around, decent sound

The wife and I together own about 150 LP's, which have not been enjoyed very much over the last 30 years or so. We moved into new digs a few months back, and my wife wanted her own "reading room" with a desk and a couple of comfortable chairs and a reading lamp. Then she envisioned having a simple record player that would not cost an arm and a leg, but would be easy to use and perhaps be flexible to take advantage of new wireless tech that's so prevalent these days. In a nutshell this Angels Horn H019 is exactly that. It is a lightweight sound-quality device, but despite its humble roots it can play those much-loved albums with sufficient sound quality and loudness that she is very much satisfied with the purchase. It can be used as a line-out digital component to a more advanced sound system if the future portends it, or it can happily play the 'ol collection in a completely self-contained and attractive kit. We got a table online and it looks "smart" on top of the table that now supports it and part of the LP collection. The wife is well-pleased with the record player, and is enjoying it almost daily. Personally I really like the ability of the player to play streaming music over its blutooth function. I also appreciate that it can be included in a far more elaborate music system if one desired to do so in future. It's actually made quite well, but the belt drive is very lightweight and will probably need replacement down the road. Even the instructions indicate that. The cartridge tracks fine with only the gram weight adjustment available; there's no other control over the tracking quality like some players I've had in the past. But that is fine really. The biggest complaint that we have found with it is the fact that one must manually pick up the tone arm after a side is played....there's no automatic mechanism for lifting the tonearm back to the rest following the tracking of one side. Alas, it isn't a terrible tragedy but does become irksome after a while. The price point is very good, so some complex functionality is to be expected?! Thank goodness the lift lever is damped, so letting the tonearm drop by bringing down the lever results in a very slow and smooth descent onto the LP. And lifting it amidst playback is smooth and uneventful as well.
