Replacement filter is impossible to find. Which makes this filter a one & done filter, and for its cost thats just crazy.

Water seems good, only 1000 per filter...

It's tall, so be sure to measure the space where it's going. Filters are hard to find, but the manufacturer's website does sell them and they told me I can also look for "oulton Ceramic filter 10"h x 2.5"D as a replacement. The water tastes good. Be aware that the CT-2000 model has to have the filter replaced every 1000 gallons.

Water good, changing filter impossible

We tried to remove housing to change water filter. 2 people tried. We followed directions in book and also in Q&A on this site, company was contacted - they never answered. Although we liked the taste of the water, the expense and difficulty to continue to use made us go to another brand.

My well water became cloudy after years of supplying good water. Most of my neighbors are reporting the same problem. My first response was to buy one of those "filter pitchers". That was a waste of money and I watched the cloudy water drip through it. I ordered the APEC after a little research and was happy to find it installed easily on my kitchen tap by removing and replacing the aerator. It sits on the counter right beside the sink where it's easy to fill anything. The water is crystal clear, the cats know the difference and it makes great coffee now ! The supply line just lays behind the faucet and hasn't interfered with doing dishes. It's a great quick, short term remedy but a larger whole house system is what I really need. Fortunately, it looks like this company has a full line of products within most people's budget.
