Waste of my money

Our system reduced flow and water started tasting awful. Installed 8 /28 /22 replaced filter 10/8/22. That was my last post and now I have to replace the filter again.11/10/22

I just installed this GE single stage filter and took a TDS meter reading, to my surprise my tap water has a reading of 26 while the filter water has a 30 reading? Might be better off without it.

We are very happy with the performance of the GE water filter in our ice maker.

Worked well for approx. 2 years

This filter did work well for approximately 2 years. We noticed that we seemed to be getting a higher flow than we did originally and we started wondering if the valve that switches the This filter did work well for approximately 2 years. We noticed that we seemed to be getting a higher flow than we did originally and we started wondering if the valve that switches the water from filtered to non-filtered water was working correctly. The short of it is the valve is bad. To prove this I went under the sink and unplugged one of the lines to the filter and turned the water back on. Sure enough the water was coming out of the filtered side of the valve when the valve was switched to unfiltered. I removed the valve out of the sink and you can blow air through the valve to all ports no matter if it is switched to straight water or filtered. My guess is a plastic valve and O-rings just don't stand up. I'll have to see if they can sell just the valve body, but unless they have put some kind of metal lining in the valve body I don't see it standing up for very long again.

Ice with particles in it

Ice put into clean (filtered and rev. osmosis) water shows the tiny particles in the ice. It is NOT well filtered water. We purchased in April and noticed this right away and assumed it could be due to some dust in the line, but after 5 months this should not be. We are very disappointed in this filter. Looking for a filter that will give us charcoal and reverse osmosis filtering for ice being put into drinks. We don't drink dirty water and don't want dirty ice.
