Mold Grows Inside Unit

Unable to control mold inside the unit if using daily. Self-cleaning and wiping takes care of a lot of the parts, but unable to reach mold in the back of the machine. The ice maker stops cooling when the water is out or the ice tray is full, preventing the ice maker from remaining in a cold environment like a refrigerator ice maker.

I've only had this for a few months, but I LOVE Igloo ice maker. It doesn't make a lot, but I have doubled my water intake. After I fill the machine with bottled water, it keeps going till the basket is full, then I put the cubes in a plastic bag, and put in the freezer. I do this twice a week. I highly doubt it makes 26 lbs in a day, but it still works for me. You have to be available to empty the basket, before you make more. All in all, it's great.

I haven't had it for long, yet, but it seems to be working splendidly. It really makes enough ice for a couple of cocktails in about 15 mins, then just keeps cranking them out. It is pretty quiet, and doesn't take much space. I purchased it to use when camping with our small trailer that only has room for about 4 cubes in the freezer, so this will be a great addition. The unit is a little heavier than I expected, but it is not bad. I'm an old granny and can lift it just fine. Really looking forward to trying it out in the wild (or at least an RV park with hookups!).

Igloo Ice Maker

This was a gift for my husband for Christmas. Our ice make in our fridge went out and we didn’t think it was worth the cost to get it fixed AGAIN (3rd time)!! I saw this ice maker on sale at Macy’s and thought it would be something my husband would get a lot of use out of. He was QUITE surprised when he opened it. He loved it and immediately put it to good use. It’s been 3 days now and he has used it several times already!! He said it was the best surprise!!!

I actually really think this has been a great buy. The ice maker works like a charm and keeps up with our crazy demand for ice that my bi beautiful fridge cannot even come close to making that much ice in a day. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is the display buttons especially the on off button is already experiencing too much use and getting hard to push. They really need a stronger button here in my opinion. I’ve had the unit less than 90 days and worry I’m going to have to replace quickly due to the display buttons

It does work but !

It does work but don’t expect full size ice like you would get from filling ice trays in the freezer. I am disabled in a wheelchair and I have a hard time reaching into the freezer.

This ice maker rocks! Makes ice super quickly and quietly! (Which I so appreciate) makes 9 ice cubes in less than 10 minutes. You will need an ice holder for your freezer to put the made ice in, as the ice maker itself does not keep the ice frozen for a long time. However this is not a huge issue for me as I just dump it every so often into the freezer! I’ve had this for a couple weeks now and I love it. Highly recommend it to anyone needing lots of ice!

I got this one to replace my old Igloo icemaker that stopped working after two years. The first one I purchased smelled like burnt wires when it ran and the ice tasted terrible. It was replaced under the warranty. The second one works OK except when there are high ambient air temps. The Ice melts because of lack of insulationand the machine can't keep up. Would not recommend.

I bought this ice maker in pink for my daughter’s college apartment. It is as pretty as it is user friendly! There are two different sizes of ice to choose from, and it comes with a scoop. It does a great job of keeping up with four young ladies who use it to make iced coffee and to fill their reusable water bottles to keep cool in the heat. I highly recommend it for home, college, or RV.

It wasn't what I expected

I don't have much success with ice makers....this would make my third one within 3 yrs. I have a family member who had an Igloo ice maker and had great success with it, so I tried. I haven't had it long...less than a week. It makes ice, has all the bells and whistles...like that the controls/options are on the front instead of the top...easier to read. I got the aqua color..looks nice in my kitchen. My complaint is the vibration of when it's making the ice....it seems to be on the inside...but it might be the lightweight door....seems maybe it should have a rubber seal or something. It is loud, not quiet like it was described. I'll live with it until I can't stand it anymore....let's hope I just got the only dud out there. I'm disappointed. I thought that the brand Igloo would come through for me.

I believe this Igloo machine is the best choice

It works great and relatively quickly dispenses at least eight ice cubes. IGLOO is a reputable brand name that goes back to the late 1950's at least as I recall seeing IGLOO coolers in use, so they are an experienced company. I definitely recommend following the instructions before use. I cleaned the inside out with a warm damp sponge with a small amount of dish soap on it which I ran water over then squeezed out most of the water to have a soapy sponge to clean with. Afterward I rinsed all the water and soap out of the sponge, then wiped out all the soapy residue, then wiped with a damp paper towel, THEN finally wiped with a couple of dry paper towels. Afterward, I poured spring water into the reservoir. I recommend using spring water always because it is not hard water and as a result descaling the machine doesn't have to be done very often if ever. I ran three cycles (around 24 ice cubes) immediately emptying the tray after each eight cubes were dispensed in order to minimize any melting water off those first ice cubes out from going back into the reservoir. If you do this you will have a very clean running machine and none of your ice should have a soapy taste at all. Not all the preceding is in the instructions, but I like the machine and I actually do care for others, so there it is. This is the second time I have written this review. The first time, upon uploading a photo using my Android phone a glitch obliterated everything into electronic space, never to be seen again. Yes. I was unhappy. But here is the review again.
