I have not installed the bathtub so far but it looks like good quality.

DO NOT BUY THIS TUB

Originally purchased this tub as part of a full bathroom renovation. After 4 years the tub developed multiple cracks. After contacting Kohler I was granted an exception to their warranty and received a new tub. HOWEVER, I had to pay thousands to have the tub actually installed and the tile around the tub to be reinstalled. Here I am....5 years later and the tub is cracked again!! It is cracked in multiple places. This tub is a piece of garbage and I am extremely angry that I now have to shell out thousands more to have this replace again. No one should have to shell out thousands of dollars every 5 years!! I will NEVER buy another Kohler product as long as I live!

Great looking tub and its well made

Well made easy install with the strength of tub and feet support and skirt reinforcement. Great surface finish and once secured by the flange and supported with a motor base no movement in the tub area or flange area.

Kohler Archer Alcove Tub

Very good tub, very strong acrylic molding, both my plumber and installer remarked how impressed they were with this tub. Better than most they have seen.

Overflow drain gasket leaks

The overflow drain gasket is complete garbage and will not seal against the side of the tube. The leak caused massive damage to the ceiling of the kitchen below the bathroom. $1200 tub with a 10 cent rubber gasket. Terrible design. Do not buy.

Nightmare

A picture is worth a thousand words. My daughter's foot went THROUGH the tub. It was 1/16 of on inch thick. Four months of back and forth with Kohler for replacement. They are offering a fraction of the cost to replace and repair. The tub was in use fo 18 months. Absolute nightmare.

Great tub

Love the tub, installed it myself. Negative reviews describe cracking and many say unit was installed by a plumber or contractor which, unfortunately, doesn't mean it was done correctly. I'm a retired remodel contractor and have repaired or replaced a lot work done by other "pros". The flange and inner walls can't support the weight of water+ person, that's why instructions say base contact points must be shimmed and siliconed (so shims don't slip) when they don't make contact with the floor. In many situations, especially remodel, when tub is set in place and leveled, it's difficult or impossible see if there's a gap or shim it. Guy's who are in a hurry, don't know better or don't care squirt extra silicone on the contact points, nail the flang and call it good, but silicone compresses causing sides to crack or flange nails to give. Mine was impossible to see or shim contact points so I set it into mortar, which the instructions say is OK to do, but I'd recommend it. Guess they figure the installer will make the right choice.

A beautiful, comfortable tub

I just remodeled my bath and now have a tub I truly enjoy. It's deep enough to truly soak, without being slippery. I did have to turn up the temperature on my water heater as it uses enough water I can't wait for the hot water to come before filling. It drains quickly and overall just makes me smile.

Bath Time!

It is very elegant! My husband is tall, so it fits him just right. The depth of it is awesome too!

DO not recommend - bad quality

We purchased the Kohler bath. We did see bad reviews that some users had cracks but thought that Kohler was our best bet anyway, as it is known for its quality, and all brands have their share of bad reviews.

Kohler Tubs Crack

I purchased (2) of these Kohler tubs. BOTH tubs within 2-3 years have cracked open the side wall and flooded my home and living spaces causing major home damages and the complete tear out of everything because of these Kohler tubs. All these other reviews regarding Kohler tub defects by cracking are true. I've gone through the crack repair process as well, and the crack will propagate through the repair and fail as well as not being an exact color match. Replacement is the only way to go here. Please save your time and go with another brand of tub unless you desire to be replacing everything surrounding and below these tubs in about 2-3 year from installation. If you love a cracked tub and a flooded house, you will love this Kohler tub.
