Prepac Dresser (grey)

This dresser is not worth the $300 I paid for it. I knew that it would be too much for me to assemble myself so I had my handyman do it. He informed me off the bat that Walmart furniture is not engineered for easy assembly like IKEA (so I should have bought from them). It took him over an hour to assemble it (and another $100 on my part) to get it assembled. The drawers are much more shallow than I expected.

Terrible manufacturing!!

The first dresser we received was labeled white but was espresso. The second we received was put together exactly as instructed (not difficult) but there are gaps between the drawers and they are uneven. Thankfully Target has amazing customer service, but I’m still really disappointed in this piece!

Good Quality for the price

The quality is pretty decent. Drawers have extra steps to sturdy them up that most drawers you have to build don’t have. Directions can be confusing. Parts weren’t labeled so you have to identify by picture. All in all for the price it’s pretty nice

Cheap junk

Was extremely difficult to put together and the instructions were very lacking; I kept installing things backwards and then had to go back and correct. Within one year, the drawer tracks started coming off and the drawers now need to be wrestled open. The wood is so cheap that the screws holding the tracks in place have worn large holes over time, so it's impossible to repair without reconstructing entirely new drawers. Cheap junk that has caused a ton of headaches, I got what I paid for. Do not recommend.

Poor Assembly Directions

Directions confusing. None of the parts were labeled. Stated each drawer takes 5 minutes to assemble. First took 30 minutes to assemble. Next 5 were faster, but more than 5 minutes. Overall took 3 hours to assemble.

This item is much smaller when it arrives, in person. The assembly was not as simple as you would imagine. Lovely color and nice drawer knobs. However, Very short, dresser draw interiors- you can barely fit two folded sweaters in them! Will not buy again.

Dresser

I would not recommend to buy this dresser. It is made of very cheap material and it’s not that stable once building it. I’ve also already had 2 issues with one having a missing board and the second with a board being damaged upon arrival. It’s not worth the money

Missing Hardware

I did love the dresser, as it matches another one that I have. However there were missing screws so to assemble I did have to purchase my own. I checked everywhere - they do have a message to check all styrofoam for hardware before tossing away, but they were no where to be found. Otherwise, the instructions are easy for assembly.

I simply love this black dresser for the kids room . It is well constructed and holds up nicely. It has plenty of drawer space .I highly recommend it It is also a beautiful shade of black so it can really go with anything.It's very durable I told some of my relatives about it and where I purchased it they plan on buying this set too. It shipped very fast and was pretty easy to put it together.It's the perfect size for young children I gave it 5 stars.

Arrived Damaged TWICE. Look for something different

If I could give this item 0 stars I would. I ordered one of these dressers, and the front stabilizer piece was broken in half. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was a fluke and returned the item and got a replacement. The replacement also came broken. Not worth the headache, spend an extra $50 and get something that comes undamaged.

Classy Dresser

Instructions had listed corresponding letters to the pieces but pieces didn't have any lettering but still good assembly. Took about 2 1/2 hours to build. I used it as a jewelry holder. Don't put too much weight in drawers. Backing for all drawers is heavy cardboard. I also switched out wooden knobs to more decorative glass knobs. Overall, great price and performs well for what I needed.

Cheap and difficult to assemble

I really would NOT recommend. Terrible quality, horrible instructions, arrived damaged. Takes FOREVER to assemble some of the directions are super unclear which lead me to assemble partially incorrect the first time then I had to take it apart and reassemble. Some pieces didn’t line up correctly and I had to rig them or glue them to make it work. It arrived with a ton of scratches and scuffs because it was packed poorly for shipping. If it was less of a hassle to return it, I would have. I regret not just spending a little more money and getting something of better quality.

Nice Dresser For Baby Room

This is a nice size dresser for a baby room that might be a little on the small side. I like that it has plenty of storage. The drawers aren't very deep or long. However with baby clothes you can actually get a lot in there. It was pretty easy to put together for the most part. There are some small issues. The top of the dresser seems to be backwards. That the overhang is in the back and not the front. We tried to switch it around but the other edge was unfinished so we really didn't have a choice. Also not all the drawers line up like they should. You can tell by the pictures there are some gaps in the top two. we even switched around the drawers and still there was a gap. Other than that this is a great dresser to start off with or to have has extra storage. We are thinking about dressing up the dresser with new knobs to just give it a little extra.

Particle board panel on back is very weak.

This is a handsome dresser with okay assembly instructions. Only okay because there are very few text descriptions, so it took some studying of the drawings to figure out some things. There is only one issue I encountered (which caused the 3-star rating): the lower main panel on the back of the dresser is particle board. When I finished the assembling, I put my hand on that particle board to help me stand up and the board broke through at the attachment points! Of course there was no warning about the fragility of that board, and really that should have been a stronger piece of wood in the first place. I was able to patch it with wood cement and after drying I gingerly carried the dresser to its proper place without any further damage. Other than that this is a nice dresser with lots of storage room at a good price.

Too Many Issues

Definitely would have given the dresser 5 stars if I didn't have so many issues. The when the dresser arrived, I ensured I had all the pieces and screws needed to put it together. I noticed the top of the dresser was chipped. I figured I would reach out to the manufacturer for a new top. Everything was going great until I attempted to put on the back support, which was about 3 inches too short. I didn't want to return the dresser because it was great for my son. I put the dresser to the side then put the draws together. After putting the other pieces together, I went into the manufacturer's website for a new top and back support. The pieces arrived about a week later so I continued to put it together but the top piece was the wrong color. Luckily, I still had the old top with the chip and the chip that I glued back on. The dresser looks great besides the glued on chip. Not sure if I would recommend given all of the problems I had.

I read the reviews and it seemed decent for the price and I'm not one to shy away from putting something together. Directions were awful. Take a lot of common sense and a few cuss words to figure it out. Super cheap. And a lot smaller than I imagined. What really set me over was one of the front drawers didn't have pre drilled holes. I didn't have any power tools so I tried to get creative and just make them hammering a thin nail. It broke it pieces. I had to glue it and nail it anyway. I ordered something different for double the price. You definitely get what you pay for.

I honestly do nit understand why people wrote bad comments about this item. We risked and bought it and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. ITS NOT REAL WOOD, but for that price you shouldn't expect a real WOOD! Once installed properly the dresser is very sturdy. The drawers close perfect if you put them in the right way! When you pull the drawer out there is a little hinge from the inside that makes it stop, which is great for kids. Wouldn't won't any drawers falling out on my little ones. I think the drawers could have been deeper, but oh well. I believe all the drawers come in that size, its standard. For people that posted pictures about drawers not fitting right...please put them in correctly! Once installed, air out the drawers if the smell bothers you! Not sure how long it will last, but its ok for now.

Are you kidding me???

This dresser is the biggest pile of *** I've ever purchased. It has plastic railings to open and close the dresser drawers. It is extremely low quality! My kids, who the dresser was for, couldn't even open the drawers because of how hard it was to open. Plastic on plastic is an extremely stupid idea. On top of all of that, there were over 10 pieces of the item that had popped off/broke off while in the box and it made it extremely hard to be able to put together. It also had a huge scratch on the top of the dresser that I noticed right away when I opened the box. Furthermore, I am 38 weeks pregnant and it took me almost 4 hours to install it, in between contractions. Once I was done, I was so upset at how horrible the entire piece was. Between my kids not even being able to open their own dresser, to the instruction manual not having a single word in it, just pictures (I felt like a caveman made the instructions), then to the huge scratch on the top of it.... oh I was so mad. I called overstock.com and told them that I was extremely unhappy with the product. The woman I talked to was very nice but was almost scolding me for putting the product together and then wanting to return it. I asked her how I was supposed to know how *** the product was without putting it all together?? The customer service woman told me I could return it, but I would have to uninstall the entire thing and make sure that it fit back inside the box. It took me 2 hours to uninstall the dresser and get it to fit in the box. 6 hours of installing and uninstalling this product all for nothing but a huge amount of stress, contractions, and frustration. I ended up going to *** and buying a dresser that was twice the size with metal railings for $50 more. It took 4 hours to install and it was worth every second and every penny. It is sooooo much nicer looking. I have tried buying a few products of all kinds on this site, all ending in disappointment. Don't waste your time buying anything from this site. It's just all *** items that no one wanted and it took me long enough to learn my lesson, let my lesson be your lesson too! Don't bother.

Just about the lowest quality dresser I've seen

This dresser fit perfectly in the space we had available. It is a good size for children, with the low drawers easy to see into and chances of tipping seem low. However...the quality is exceptionally poor. The white plastic veneer that covers it is about the same thickness as whiteout tape (and scratches off just as easily. The unit came with scuffs and machine oil stains on it from the production line. The drawer sliders are a new low in quality. No moving parts, just plastic on plastic. They don't even bother with the fake plastic wheels (that don't turn) like other similar dressers. We kept the dresser since it suited our needs, and the 4 year old who is using it doesn't seem to care about the quality. I suspect it will last 2 or 3 years and then need to be replaced.
