Very thin plastic... Not what I expected for the price. Have not installed. Debating returning and getting something more solid but this size is hard to find. Contractor had wanted something more solid. REVISED: My husband installed it. Painted it. It looks nice after all. Sometimes contractors are wrong....
This purchase was perfect it’s up and looks beautiful!!!!!
Perfect little addition to my powder room project. Painted well. Will add photos once room is complete.
So SO So Gorgeous
This item is stunning. It was SUPER easy to install and adds that extra bit of WOW factor to the room. It is extremely light weight. My husband used screws to put up. I couldnt be happier! Wonderful product and quick shipping.
Attractive and classic look
Very attractive. Have not installed yet, but as long as it is handled carefully during install should look great after painted. Light 3 dimensional quality so doesnt overpower light fixture. It is lightweight. Came with good packaging and not broken. I bought two, in different sizes. I would buy again.
Looks exactly as pictured. Its plastic, light inexpensive considering others Ive seen and it holds paint very well. Just use your imagination. You can paint andor decorate to your own taste. Im changing a bedroom to gold and white, something depicting Versailles in the 18th century, so I just painted one of these medallions, as pictured above, in gold and a touch of bronze. These are great for enhancing hallways, bathrooms, etc. as long as you pair them with the right semi flush or hanging light.
Nice addition to the room
I spray painted item with a metalic oil rubbed bronze paint to match with my Chandelier and it came out well and looks high end. I used the Chandelier cover plate to hold it in place so I didn't have to use any nails or glue. Highly recommend the purchase.
This was a Theroformed PVC Ceiling Medallion, which was delivered outside the front gate, NOT the side gate, as directions stated. It has been raining all day here, and if it is wet I will not have it!! I have asked time after time as to where to leaves packages and Fed-x just will not deliver to where it MUST be!!! If something is not done I can NOT order from Wayfair any longer!!
No one will know its molded plastic except you and your waller
I combined this with a brass chandelier I bought for a few bucks at a thrift shop that just needed new finials, some all thread and a cleaning. I hit the chandelier and this ornament with a fresh layer of hammered bronze paint, and for less than $50 I have a statement light in my stairwell that looks like it came from a high end lighting catalog. After putting this ornament up with some construction glue with a ring of silicon around the edges, you cant tell this isnt cast or milled. The canopy of the chandelier lines up in the middle with no issues. Its actually easier to install this than one of those ones people get at the big box hardware store because its light and thin, plus there are no worries about needing to extend or replace the light fixtures nipple threading to reach the ceiling bracket. It only adds a couple millimeters of depth to the mounting surface, so basically the bracket and the ceiling are taking any load.Despite the thinness, this is thermocast (heat molded) out of PVC so its got some very decent hardness and scratch resistance (I dare say better than plaster, but not quite as much as solid cast), especially for the limited weight of material. The casting is smooth and clean, too, and I had no issues with seating it on the ceiling because the back is nice and level. Any issues with PVC getting curled would have been easy to solve with a little *gentle* persuasion from a heat gun, anyway.Ekena has come out with a whole lot of remarkable items recently that make beautiful ornaments and onlays affordable. This one is an especially good value. My guess is that, unless someone happens to accidentally beat this thing up with a broom handle or a ladder or something, itll hold up just as well as the light fixture until someone decides to remodel again some day.
You do have to take your light fixture down to install this one. Quick delivery time.
Pretty thin plastic material but beautiful on my high ceilings. I did prime and paint the same color as my trim to get rid of the shiny plastic look. Overall I like it. There is a small gap at the top when installed but can easily be fixed with a little ingenuity.
Used crafting foam to glue to ceiling
Since this medallion is hollow, at first my husband and I werent sure how to attach it to the ceiling. I had some left over craft foam from a costume so we glued the foam to the hollow parts of the medallion and then used liquid nails to glue the foam and the collar to the ceiling. For how light and thin it is it looks really great! Also I spray painted it blue
Beautiful, but arrived warped. Creates more work.
This was exactly what we wanted. It is better than the typical plastic hollow junk choices you get from the limited selection at Lowes or Home Depot. It paints very well too. The reason for the lower score is that it arrived safely, but severely warped and required a lot of caulk filling, extra painting and trips up the later over multiples days. Basically, if you know how to do this right; it took a lot longer to install to get good results.
Not the medallion we thought it was...
We expected a resin medallion that would be flat on the back to mount it to the ceiling. It was thin, flimsy, and frankly looked and felt like a serving platter from the dollar store. We returned it. Not at all what we thought it would be. The design looked washed out and not as crisp as the photos. Too bad, too. It looked pretty. It also was not a free return. They sent us a label to ship, but there was a "restocking"/return fee. We got most, but not all of our money back. But thats okay. It may have said so somewhere and I just didn't read it. Not angry. Just not what I expected. Disappointed.
Love it, love it. Perfect piece!!
Better than the pict
Yes, it’s plastic. So? Once it’s painted, it looks really good. Does it look like a solid carved wood or plaster medallion? Probably not, but if your friends are climbing up to your ceiling to examine it, you have bigger issues than a plastic medallion. Bottom line, would I buy this again. Absolutely.
Cheap Halloween mask material
Not worth the 15.12 I paid for it. Should have known it was cheap junk. But they were sneaky and didn't represent the thickness of this item in their pictures posted. Think cheap 90s Halloween mask plastic and thats what this is. Definitely would not be durable over time.
Beautiful
This is plastic but so beautiful, light weight and perfect accent to my chandelier. I didn?t have to screw to ceiling or glue it stays in place when I tightened up the top piece of chandelier. There is a little gap at top but it not really noticeable. This was such a great purchase.
They are beautiful addition to our new ceiling fans!
My husband had a hard time getting the ceiling fan hardware to mount with needed clearance from the medallion? but his persistence in not giving up, was well worth the final result! ?? We have two? one on each side of the living room. They really dress it up. We are so happy with them!
Completely Overpriced for what they are. DON?T DO IT!
I ordered five of these medallions. The wrong color was sent and for over $38.00 a piece, they are extremely overpriced for what they are. They are made of similar material that the little cheesy plastic Halloween masks used to be made of when we were kids. Stay away from this product and the utter disappointment that it brings.
Elegance with easy installation
This is lightweight which makes it perfect for an easy installation. I took off my ceiling canopy and shoved this against the ceiling then reinstalled the ceiling canopy. The canopy held this in place. I didn't need glue because this is light weight. Had this been heavy, i would have had to drill this into the ceiling. Im moving soon and this will be easy to remove and reinstall in my new home. I didn't even have to paint this. Ill buy more of these. One for every room.
