More Grab Bars

Reviews

When I purchased the grab bars, it was with the intent of finding something that was warm in color. Our tub tile has light brown running through it to look like marble. When they were installed, it was exactly as I had pictured it. We feel so much more safe when showering and are completely satisfied with what we purchased.

The product looks good, however, the kit and installation instructions were a disappointment. The hardware to make it ada compliant did not work and was poorly made. I was never really sure the directions described the assembly kit I had. I ended up using a toggle bolt to attach the non-stud mounted end-making me not sure the bar was ada compliant any more.

Very cool grab bar, doesn't just look like an ADA item in a commercial bathroom. Has nice style and works as expected.

Heavy Duty

I got this grab bar in chrome for our new granite shower to be installed next month. I was pleasantly surprised how heavy it is. The bar itself is the perfect diameter and am confident it will provide an excellent source of security.

Delta Grab Bars made my bathroom safe

The 36" Delta grab bar is very strong and is excellent for behind the toilet, when an ADA compliant bar is needed for wheel chair use, or for alongside the toilet where there is wall space, to help elderly or infirm persons use the toilet easier. 36" does not line up for fastening to studs 16" or 32" apart, so in new construction have contractor install additional blocking, or use a mounting board screwed to the studs, or use the included drywall mount. I think every bathroom should have grab bars to help prevent falls.

Ordered 3 grab bars for our renovated shower. One 36 inch and two 24 inch. Beautiful chrome finish, very well made, sturdy grab bars but also attractive to look at while doing the job for one’s safety. Very pleased with this decision

Installed one in our main bath to replace a towel bar. Looks good. Was pretty easy to install. One end mounted to a stud the other did not. Luckily it includes a no-stud mounting bracket. Just be sure you have everything marked and level before you begin.

We needed this to grab onto as our toilet is between 2 walls with nothing to grab onto. It was pretty easy to install as we had 2 studs to put the screws into. It is very secure and I don't have any fear of it not holding me. It's also attractive. The only thing I would change is the toilet paper slides around and doesn't stay in place.

I had two 24" grab bars installed in my new shower/bath. The horizontal bar doubles perfectly as a drying rod for the bath mat. The vertical bar doubles as a slide bar for the hand shower. I really like the look and sturdiness of the bars. My only complaint is that the cover for the mounting plate doesn't have set screws and is only held in place by some blobs of caulking. All four have popped loose within a few months of installation. It doesn't affect the function of the grab bars, but it's annoying and looks sloppy when they come loose.

Very heavy duty feel, and looks great. Love that there isn't any center spring-loaded spindle - rather, there is a swing up gate, so nothing to bounce across the room or get lost. Only one caution - it stands out from the wall farther than a basic wall-mount TP holder. In one of the rooms I will be putting this, there is just the minimum clearance on each side of the toilet, so I will need to swap sides and put it on the opposite side so I can get it a few inches farther forward from the toilet itself (otherwise it will hit my knee/thigh)... no big deal, but just an observation. (The home essentials direct review form is asking me to give 1 to 5 stars to "softness"... not sure that's applicable here!)

I'm trying to figure out why no one had ever thought of this before, what a simple but great idea. We actually installed these in all of our baths. We love these, they are so easy to raise the little bar and add the roll of paper, no no fumbling with one of the old fashioned spring loaded type or no more falling off the other bar type holders. We also like the grab bar just in case any of our guest ever needs to use it. Everyone that has seen these are fascinated with them and want to know where we got it from. It also matches all of the other Delta Cassidy line perfectly. We couldn't be happier with a toilet paper holder.

This is an attractive grab bar that can double as a towel bar. It's pretty hefty. Time will tell how well it works. The only downside is that the design of the anchor it uses was difficult to install because my bathroom has lathe/plaster walls, which are quite thick and irregular on the backside. You have to slide the anchor through a one-inch diameter hole in the wall, attach a plastic lever to a face plate with sticky tape, and pull that plastic lever forward. If the taped-on plastic pulls away from the face plate, the entire anchor can fall into the wall and you then have to buy another anchor and attach something else to the lever so it won't fall through the hole in the wall. LOL.

Strong, attractive bar. Wish they’d had chrome.

This bar looks good and the contractor attached it solidly in our new shower. We bought several smaller bars in the same style, and all look good. disappointment is that the 36” bar wasn’t available in chrome and I had to settle for stainless if I wanted it installed by the contractor. I would have much preferred the chrome to the stainless. That’s why I give it only 4 stars.

This is a good bar, very solid. My only problem is that it attaches to two mounting plates that are lagged to the wall. When you lag them to sheetrock it tries to suck the sheetrock in. Then I had to back out the plates a bit and find the perfect depth to get the base to mount snuggly to the sheetrock. Perfect... until you put any weight on it, then it pushes that mounting plate into the sheetrock more and more. So you either need to mount the small plate so it somehow won't get sucked into the sheetrock or it needs to go onto a more solid surface.

This tissue holder is a monster! Heavy-duty and seemingly indestructible. Not sure why the tissue holder bar is at least 2" wider than it needs to be but, maybe, somewhere in this world Charmin makes rolls of TP that are 2" wider than the standard roll. ;) PS: the photo illustration is a bit deceiving, making this selection appear to have a gold finish. It does not.

I ordered this product to use as a stairway handrail for a particularly problematic narrow spiral staircase in an 80 year old house. Two weeks in, I can't believe I went without it. The challenge was that the two 18-inch bars I also needed were not in stock, and I needed this handrail in a hurry. Drat! Solved this problem by purchasing the 18-inch bars in the Transitional style, which looks close enough, though the bars are oval rather than round. Using these grab bars was my competent, creative carpenter's idea. He installed the bars with no problems.

I love the look and practicality of this combination assist bar and towel bar. I took off one star because only one screw is used to secure each end of the bar which isn’t really enough for a true grab bar. Fortunately, I had this installed in our extra bathroom, and my mother is petite so I think this mount will be secure enough for her occasional use.

I received the Delta 36 inch grab bar today and had it installed. I'm a big guy and needed a grab bar for when getting out of the tub. This bar looks great and is very solid. The chrome is bright and smooth. Looks like a thicker towel bar which is what I wanted it to look like. I tested it out by tugging, pulling and pushing up on it. It passed with flying colors. Highly recommend this bar.

Did not meet my expectations. Originally, I had ordered a traditional decorative ADA grab bar in a smaller size. The part that you grasp was a perfect fit for my hand, so I ordered more. Unfortunately, the next two grab bars had a rounded and larger part that you grab onto. I do not like the feel at all.
