The color is a bit brighter/bolder than depicted in the photos, but not a great deal more so. I kept it anyway and it has a nice little pop of blue to it to bring some interest to my travertine flooring. The rug is low pile and not all that dense. It is a mid range quality rug, but it looks amazing and luxurious and it seems to be wearing well. I have had it for several months in a high traffic area and sees no sign of distress.
