Very happy with my Swanstone Tub Surround

The Swanstone tub surround came very well packaged and we picked up at the store. There was one defect on one of the sides but we were able to cut 1" off at the bottom on all sides. It was very heavy but I had someone install and it looks great. I really like the height which goes above my shower head. It was a good price for a quality product that should last

Easy to install, but one of the side panels had spider cracking on the front side. Did not notice it until cleaning the panel for caulking, so it was already adhered to the wall board.

This isn't the regular cheap plastic tub surround. It's 1/4"...

This isn't the regular cheap plastic tub surround. It's 1/4" thick solid and very tough. I cut it easily with a finish 7 1/4" saw blade. I've installed a lot of fun surrounds and this is the best. Don't let the price scare you, it's made to last forever.

Beautiful with Swanstone, we returned the 30x60x72 because the 30 inches were little short for 32 inches tub and Home Depot did not have 32 inches so we bough the 36x60x72 and trimmed to 33 inches both sides and have looked so so ... so beautiful .Thank you Home Depot

Easy to modify material, even if your walls are not plumb/level. Very easy to clean. Very durable. Definitely not a one person job, as the back panel is heavy but still not difficult to install. Read directions completely before beginning job. Have had it up for 2 Months and I love it. I got the recessed soap dish (large one) and it was absolutely worth $150, as this cannot be broke off and holds many items that are then out of the way. Soap dish was pretty easy to install also. I love it. Definitely wear mask when cutting material and do it outside, as there is mega dust and make sure you have plenty of ventilation when applying 100% silicone, very stinky and takes your breath away, but the smell will go away. Definitely worth the money and I will not have to replace it in 5 to 7 years like the cheap acrylic tub surrounds, because of cracking and soap holders breaking off. Great product.

Tub surrround

These sheets are easy to cut and install. You will need 2 people as the back wall piece is heavy and cumbersome. I used loc-tite zero second cure adhesive and didn't need any bracing. I couldn't be happier. I have cut and dry fitted the trim kit and will install it today.

DIY Swanstone walls

We are DIYers and installed Swanstone walls on an American Standard curved tub. We inspected the box at HD and then scheduled delivery. The walls were very well packed and even though there was damage to the packaging, there was no damage to the walls. All panels come in 1 big box. On the skid pallet, the total weight was near 250 lbs. We were concerned about the panel weights. The back wall can be carried by 2...it is somewhat heavy but mostly just thin, big, and flexible. We used Moen removable grab bars to help when moving the panels. We stored the panels in our house with the original packing material. Our helper put tar paper and Hardiebacker on the studs. We followed the instructions...wiped everything with alcohol, primed the walls, wiped everything with alcohol, and used 100% silicone. We bought Red Devil 100% silicone (not Kitchen & Bath), because that looked like the brand on Swanstone install kits. Our helper put silicone on the Hardiebacker. This made it easier to place the panel without getting silicone on our hands. He put small globs like the instructions say, and added a line along the perimeter, but all on the Hardiebacker. The panels stayed in place easily. First we installed the back panel, then each side. We had the bracing cut and ready to go. After all walls were up, we installed the bracing for 24 hrs. as per instructions. We had no trouble with adhesion. There was no problem drilling through it when installing grab bar shelves and the shower/tub faucets with regular drill bits for wood.
