The Faith 1-Gang Decorator Screwless Wall Plates Child Safe Outlet Covers, Fits GFCI, USB Receptacle, ETL Listed, Black, (8-Pack) seems like a good idea, but in practice, not so much. The cover plates came on a blister pack with no labeling on the front. “Screwless” is a bit misleading since you have to screw down a subplate before snapping on the actual cover plate. The resulting finished product leaves a cover plate that sticks out from the wall by approximately 5/16 of an inch. The manufacturer claims the resulting look is subtle and stylish, but to my eye, it is anything but. I installed this cover plate using both a Faith single-pole switch as well as a Faith 15 amp outlet. The fit was fine, however, in my application I had to use an old-work box for the switch and outlet conversions and the subplate did not sit flush to the wall, accenting the amount of projection from the wall of the cover plate. Traditional cover plates have more of a recess allowing for a flush fit to the wall. You may have different results when used on a standard outlet box. I did like the material these cover plates were made from, making them almost impossible to break. Overall, these cover plates are about twice the price of a conventional cover plate and the “Screwless” feature does not really add any value or improve the appearance of the finished product and, as a result, I don’t recommend them.
