My only issue is that it didn't stay black for very long. It is completely rusted.

A great deal for the price!

I did a LOT of research before choosing this insert. Some good things are the heftiness of it. Heavy gauge steel and I like the reinforced bottom edge. The overlapping tabs are nice where they connect, but as others have stated I had to grind down a couple of the welds so the two would fit flush. Also, four out of the 12 nuts were not tapped deep enough and unable to use them. That was fine because I replaced all of them so they wouldn’t rust as many have mentioned. Remains to be seen if the paint will hold up, but if it burns up and peels I’ll just recoat with high temp paint. Overall a great deal for the price.

Good but a pain to set up.

The product it alright but i was disappointed with the pieces and how they don't fit veey well together as it doesn't make a leveled rim to set on yoir stones. Even though ot is painted it will start to rust in the joints after the first rain if not painted more thoroughly after purchasing using a high temp paint. I used black gloss and it looks great! But if you do buy this just know it will mostly likely need a bit of additional work to get it the way you want.

When I ordered this from Amazon, I wasn’t expecting it to be this heavy. It was easy to assemble and it’s perfect for my new fire pit. The only little issue, I have a few spots that are rusting. It looks like where the paint was chipped a tiny bit. No big deal though. I’m going to pick up some black grill spray paint and just give it a coat. I’m really happy with it.

A little challenging to put together but love how this fire ring is heavy duty. I don't know about the rust factor yet other than it's been outside unused all summer without rusting. We can't wait to use it this fall! I do wish that a stone or brick veneer was an optional accessory to it. At this point, we would definitely recommend it to friends and neighbors.
