Lights are fair at best. They are rather dim and dont light the area very well. I had planned to install 24 lights on the fence line hoping to illuminate the walking trail for safety of people walking in the evening. Extremely disappointed.

I have two of these caps and wanted more. They are as pictured. The perfect night light effect for your fence posts. Kudos to Home Depot for offering the best price. Thank you.

Great product. Replaced a cheap plastic set that was awful. These things are worth the money.

Still bright after 1 year

I spent about 200 for 10 of these for my backyard fence. I have fhe metal aluminum 2x2 posts and they fit perfectly. After a year I’m happy to say work just as good as the first day. I live in FL so i get lots of rain and they still work great. My dogs can go out in the backyard without any other lights in the dark and feel safe from maybe animals. Plus they look awesome at night and really elevate the yard. They give me a sense of security knowing that they provide adequate lighting at night. All year round they never go out at night too!

Good but just not bright enough for our purposes.

We returned these but only because we wanted additional lighting in our backyard to see a bit better. They weren't bright enough to really brighten up the yard. They seem to be well made. If you are just looking for some decorative lighting, these would fit the bill.

Fantastic product at a fraction of the deck brand prices (Trex, etc). I put 12 of these in with a new deck in 2020. All provide great lighting, and have been 100% for all of that time. Hail took out one, so bought a replacement and a spare. I cannot recommend these more highly!

Go Dark Fast, and Fail When it Rains

Bought these over a year ago, returned them twice because they were defective, but the replacements were no better. Not only do they go dark after a few hours despite a full day of sun, but when it rains, they fail completely. After a few months of frustration, I finally bought another brand at Home Depot, and they have been satisfactory.

I bought these 18 caps 1 year ago 6/26/222. They were nice at first. But seem ro not weather well in the sunlight( which they are made for. I would like to know what recourse I have to try to replace or recover some of my investment in these lights?

Not water tight!

I expected a solid product for almost $25 each! Ordered a total of 12 lights, one was DOA. They were all collecting water. It’s unfortunate, I was hoping for a quality product at this price point. Had to return them all because they all had large gaps around the solar panel.

Great solar lights

These lights are awesome! They come out the box with a little charge already, just pop in the battery. They come with different adapters to make it easy to fit on your fence. I just love the way they look and the amount of light they generate. They are well made and I will purchase more.

Excellent product for a great price

We recently retrofitted our aluminum regal railing to our new staircase but we’re short a few post caps. When sourcing replacement we realized for $5 more classy caps offered these Solar option so gave it a try. They were easy to install with 3 base options. A light mallet had the one base secured and the caps sit tightly on top. We haven’t seen them in action but are excited for the light at night! Great product for a great price and shipped fast direct from vendor!

I love this product! I started with 4 of them to try them out before committing to more. I now pen 16 of them and they have finished off my deck I’m such a “classy” way! I highly recommend these! They’ve survived nasty storms and bing knocked off from children.

Solid Construction

We are very pleased with this purchase. We use these to show the boundaries of our aluminum fence in a very dark backyard. They look great. Unlike other solar options, these have replaceable, rechargeable AA batteries. When the solar batteries wear out in a year or so, the AA rechargeable batteries are easily replaced. Solid purchase.

Great looking, battery life could be better

Purchased these for my newly remodeled deck. My deck posts are trex aluminum posts in 2.5 inch diameter. These post cap lights look great over the post caps that came from Trex. I did need to caulk them for a tight fit, they were otherwise a bit loose. The light output is pretty good, broadcast covers about 3 foot. I have them on every post separated every 5 ft. I do find that the battery life in a full day full sun charge is okay but on an overcast day the battery doesnt go the full night.

While the illumination for these lights are perfect for the posts that surround our pool, they have a tendency to fall off and break. We ordered 36 and have returned at least a third. Not sure if it was the manufacturer or something I read on a review but it was suggested that you use double face tap or some type of caulking to hold the light in place. We did this and still had the problem of them falling off when the fence was bumped or from winds. Currently contemplating whether to keep them or return the whole lot.

Rating based on Installation

My wife bought these for our Regal railing post. Assembly is very easy and they look very nice too. My criticism is they are accidently removed easily. I had one installed close to the gate and a visitor accidently bumped it off. No harm, however that was concerning. My fix was to drill with a 1/16" bit and fastened with small screws to prevent this from reoccurring. I read the only other review and will monitor the outcome on a long-term basis. They are pricey.

Excellent build quality and design. Worth the cost. Deployed many of these along my fence and they are still going strong. I recommend using a self-tapping screw or two to secure each one though. Just caulking them with silicone as suggested in the instructions didn't provide a secure enough fit for my liking. Great purchase either way.

Perfect fit for aluminium fence posts!

I had a hard time finding solar post caps small enough to fit my aluminium fence posts. These fit perfect and also come with adapters if needed. These are low profile and look like they are a part of the fence during the day. They offer a bright enough light to highlight your fence line without being too bright to annoy the neighbors. Perfect for adding subtle lighting so the backyard isn't pitch black and provides a nice deterrent and added safety. Plan on buying more.

Good Lights, but a few flaws

I installed about 30 of these on my deck just over two years ago. So far, only four have completely failed - which is pretty good for an outdoor solar light. They are not exactly water tight, so some rust is starting to form. Moreover, they tend to fill up with moisture and then mold (algae) and are a pain to clean (must be removed and disassembled). The powder white coating turns to powder after the first year (and ends up on your clothing if you rub against one. The powder coating also tends to mildew. I just spent several hours cleaning and clear-coating mine. They look nice again.
