too small for a large dog
This item is too small and lightweight for a large dog. Doesn't hold enough water.
We didn't need the extra piece to elevate the bowl — we have a tiny 10-pound toy poodle — I merely wanted a pet waterer that had a small but visible reservoir. We had been using regular watering bowls but we couldn't always tell when the bowl was empty unless we bent over and gave it a close inspection. This waterer gives us a little buffer because the water level is visible from a bit of distance.
A very good and practical dispenser.
This dispenser is easy to clean and holds a good amount of water for two cats. I would recommend purchasing this item.

This did exactly what was needed. I have 3 dogs and 1 cat, 2 of whom need a lot of water daily. This is the perfect solution and lasts about a week in my house. One tip: put water in the bowl before you seat the gallon container.
