Reviews
Nice light blocking curtains. The material is very soft and does not have a sheen. I purchased in light grey to coordinate with the copper color I already have up(also from Wayfair). The color is great, without blue undertones. I purchase an open box and there are clearly imperfections. The stitching along the bottom is not great, but I am ok with that. The back and front are the same color and there is no liner so I am not convinced these will insulate in the winter but the breeze did not seem to come through when I closed them. All in all, the color was most important and that is perfectly acceptable to me. I am happy with the curtains at the discounted price, but had I paid full price, I would have likely returned them.
I like the quality of these curtains. I had to order a second set to fill the space, however. They have a good look to them and the color is good, I got the charcoal color but I'd say they are a light charcoal.
Mustard Yellow Color
These are mustard yellow. I read the reviews and answers to questions and they said the curtains are not mustard yellow. They totally are though! Not a deep mustard yellow, but definitely not a true yellow. The quality of these is fine and they do darken the room. Returned based on color.
Not blackout at all, they do not block much heat either. Very misleading description and wayfair makes you pay to return. I hope this review saves someone money.
I ordered wheat for a bedroom with southern exposure and navy for northern exposure. The wheat did not prove to be blackout and navy seems to work. Both rooms have 2” blinds behind them. I already have blackouts that are a little heavier with black on one side and are truly blackout I should have looked further for similar. For this reason I give 2 stars. I would purchase again but recommend darker color to ensure blackout. The summer and winter weather will prove if they are insulating.
They are not fully blackout for our room. We have plantation shutters, so I am assuming that is why the light still comes through quite well. The majority of comments did say they were blackout, but for us they were not at all. Also our windows aren’t sun facing. The quality of the fabric is very nice for the price, however! So if you don’t wantneed complete blackout, these are nice. We need darkness for kids rooms!
Love my curtains and the compliments they get.
I purchased the drapes to dress up the family room in a bright, sunny color. The fall nicely from the rods. the fabric looks satiny which I love. I put them away for the summer. they got so many compliments, I took them out and bought a rug to match. Great curtains? Absolutely! They wash well too. Straight out of the dryer there were wrinkles of snags in the fabric. That's a good deal.
These drapes are stunning. Heavy weight. Soft sueded feel matte look. hang beautifully. The wheat color is an Ecru and a perfect neutral for any room. Ordered the light gray and they were too blue so these are much better. One thing i have learned over the years is things do not have to match perfectly they just need "to go" and these elevate my room with interest. Perfect to go with Wayfair carpet purchased several years ago.
I was surprised how well these keep out the light! They are very soft and not as thick as some I have in other rooms, but we put them up (they still have their wrinkles) and they completely blocked the streetlight that has kept us up for nights! I took the picture at night, so it's hard to tell, but they did the trick. These are the dark grey, shorter panels (52X63) because we have floor heat and I didn't want to block the heat, too.
Unlike other blackout curtains, these are soft and flexible. Looking at it from the outside, though, you would never know there is a light on in the house. I love the gold (yellow) color, which perfectly compliments the lemon drop Aljoscha Floral Sheer Grommet Curtain Panel in my adjacent dining room. The curtain combination provides privacy on the street-facing windows, and entry of light on the yard-facing windows.
These curtains feel nice and of good quality. They hang beautifully. The reason for the three stars is because the color is nowhere near what I ordered. I ordered Sage Green and I got a bright Celery green. They do a great job of blocking out the western sun and were a good price so I am keeping them, but I will probably want different curtains that are a better color in the future.
Cold Staying Out
I have such a drafty sliding door that goes out to the balcony. In winter it chills the whole apt down. With energy prices going up so high (ConEd is saying 30% more next month?? HOW) I am looking for any option - well the "draft dodger" (hate that name) wasn't doing it - so I opted for these with low expectations. Wow I was wrong. They aren't designer but they are a good weight and weave, the (yellow) color is sunny but not too BRIGHT - like a mayer lemon? And I really feel a difference. In fact on night 1 it was too HOT at night and I had to scootch the curtain over a bit. Not bad. I'm getting a pair for the bedroom too.
I specifically asked on the chat that the drapes be bonded to either white or beige as our condo has strict rules in that regard. They were not, they were bonded to blue. 2) the drapes had metal rings instead of fabric. 3) the package that the drapes arrived in was damaged and had been taped, several times. I put that in recycle, however I do have pictures of how the package arrived. The package did not contain a packing slip. I have to return the drapes. 4) The rods arrived but I do not like how they look and do not like the color so I wish to return all items. The box the rods arrived in is intact though I did take pictures of the box. It had a damaged corner. I WISH TO RETURN ALL ITEMS THAT I ORDERED.
A bit disappointing.
Order 2 sets of these curtains, one curtain in each pair were snagged. Reached out to kohls (amazing customer service) and was sent a new pair, except each of those came snagged! I think the “hanger” the curtains are packaged on seem to damage them. The blue looked nicer online than in person and they are room darkening curtains, not blackout. That might be my biggest gripe. Please do not call them blackout curtains. They block a lot of light but not nearly “blackout.” They were a decent price for what will now be a placeholder until I find something better.
Very nice curtains for the price. The color is spot on what I was looking for and considering I purchased the pink which is a fairly light color and there is no dark liner on the back they block out nearly all light. I bought these for the thermal quality because my apartment windows are terrible and cold air blasts straight through them. In this respect the curtains are just ok. They block some of the cold air but you can still feel a fair amount coming through. I may be expecting too much from these curtains though so take that as you will. Overall I’m very pleased with this product and would recommend to other buyers.
These are great curtains and I knew exactly what I was getting when I ordered them. They are room darkening, not blackout and not thermal. They are thick, single material, unlined curtains. Used in conjunction with a hanging blind, they make the room cozy and darken it quite a bit. One panel did have some stains on it that I was able to wipe off with a wet wipe. Another had out of line stitching that had been ripped out and left rather noticeable needle holes about 4 inches along the border. The only reason I kept it was of where it was hanging, and it wouldn't be seen very much.
Well this is another awesome find. I was looking for curtains to cover my front door from the cold air coming around the sides. I recalled back in the days seeing curtains covering the entry door. I looked it up and found the name, portieres. I believe it originated from China or France. It became known to keep homes especially foyers warm. A great history lesson. I began to search for home decor and decided to purchase them for my door and it is a fashion statement.
Great panels at a great price!!
Only reason this is not a 5 star review, is because the panels are just a little inconsistent on measurement. It bothers my OCD a little - wouldn't be a problem if you are doing the "puddle" effect, but I was going for the "kiss" or "float" effect and you can definitely notice the inconsistencies. I swapped the shorter panels to the back where they were less noticeable, (and we are only talking an inch or so), but sometimes that can make a big difference (like in pic#2 where one panel "puddled" a bit). Once I ironed them, I got about another 1/2 inch on the shorter ones which made me happy! BUT, other than that, the color is PERFECT!!! The Wheat color panels are super soft, and almost silky feeling, they iron out well and they are the PERFECT shade of neutral I was looking for (not too yellow-y cream and not too smoke-y grey). NOTE: I would call these more like "room darkening" than blackout... definitely not completely black out, but we were not really looking for that in this great room anyway. Finished the room nicely and added a touch of privacy at night. PRO TIP: if you are like me and you just want to get them up before ironing, you can still iron them on the rod with a fleece glove on to protect your hand and use it as a backing - works great ... still tedious though. ;-) All in all, we are VERY happy with the look, especially when we were quoted an arm and a leg for custom drapes!! ** ** quoted us OVER $*** for custom drapery. This whole look cost closer to $**** (16 panels from Overstock + continuous rod & other hardware from ** **, and about 3 days manual labor with myself and my dad). WORTH IT!
Love these curtains! I bought these for my living room and it works perfectly. They arrived on time. One of the boxes was about to fall apart when it got here, looked like it might had been repurposed. The curtains brighten up the room. I purchased the Sage at 120” and I am totally satisfied with the color and the length. The color is not quite as bright as in the pictures, but pretty close to it. The curtains feel durable and soft. They don’t allow much light to come through when pulled closed, they help reduce noise from the street, and they help with the draft around my 120 year old windows. I did put sheers with it so that I could pull the curtains back to let natural light in. They are perfect for what I needed.
I ordered the red panels and they are absolutely gorgeous - dramatic - yet, not gaudy. The stitching is flawless; quality of material is excellent; the sheen on exterior is satiny without being too shiny, which I like. I placed over my patio doors in dining room and they do block out a tremendous amount of cold air. These curtains are great value and I highly recommend plus, they were wrapped, such, that one could hang on the hanger provided, which I did for one hour than subsequently steam ironed. They look absolutely gorgeous. So happy with my purchase Thanks, Wayfair.
