SO welcoming

The Black Iris Oak Candle is a lovely and welcoming scent. I think it is a neutral that can be used all seasons. I light it in my dining room that is an open to my living room and doorway. I can smell it when I enter the house. It is not strong or overwhelming. It is subtle and pretty. It is beautifully boxed and came with matches in the same pattern as the box. It would make a very nice gift too. This was gifted by APOTHEKE.

Smells more woody to me

I never used any Apotheke prior to this Black Iris Oak Candle. It?s beautifully packaged in a flowery, leafy green colors. Has nicely blended calming peppery, woody, musky smell. My bf said ?it smells like perfume?.

Amazing and beautiful scent

The Apotheke candle in black iris is such a beautiful addition to my home decor/look. The candle is such an elegant and modern design. And the the scent itself is magnificent, it has strong notes of black pepper, cinnamon, guaiac wood, aromatic iris, violet and musk. I like to light this candle whenever I get the chance, I feel like it last the longest and spreads throughout my entire houses. Whenever we have guests over they compliment the scent. Strong Scented

Didn't love the scent - much too strong as someone who prefers lighter scents. The returns process is archaic and ensured I won't order online from this store again unfortunately.

Springtime at a Haunted Church

When hot, I struggled to find one dominant scent. The black pepper, guaiac wood, and musk are all working in tandem at the forefront. Then you get the floral notes; I found the violet to stand out more than the iris, but it is also a scent that I am more familiar with. I am struggling to describe the scent adequately. This candle is a woody, floral vibe which could easily lean ?springtime at a haunted church.? But there?s something about the scent that I also find a little sexy; feel free to unpack that if you wish. I will temper this by saying I am not a huge floral fan, which may be why I enjoyed this candle so much. All in all, it is a smooth and soft candle. It filled my living room but didn?t dominate it. I struggled to get a complete melt pool on this candle and had to resort to foil for a few burns; however, this stopped being necessary once I got further down the candle. I think the wax is a bit hard for the amount of surface area with just 1-wick.
