HERCULES Big & Tall Executive Chair

The chair is a quality item. I DO NOT appreciate the fact that assembly was left to the customer. NFM should have an assembly department with appropriate costs associated with each individual item.

I phoned Wayfair last week - they were going to have a repair service contact me - but I am still waiting. The chair seat has a slight tilt forward at all times. Basically you need your feet to support yourself from sliding forward. If this can be fixed, the chair is super comfortable - just not usable like this.

Disappointing

Arm padding shifted to side after one week. Arms loosen shortly after tightening. Casters sent were too small/weak; looking for replacements. Strikes me as having been sent a quality reject. This is only my second week; can't wait to see what is next. The bright side is that I learned Never, Never Ever to buy a chair without sitting in it first.

Not a great product

Cloth is very fragile, snags on clothes. It was too high for me (5'2" female) even on the lowest setting. Like, structurally it's fine, but otherwise it's not worth the money. The cushion went flat in the first 4 hours. There's many much better chairs in this price range.

Recommended chair.

Chair is well built and assembles easy enough. Screw /bolt holes match well. Padding is thick (for that 400 pounder). But for a smaller person (185 lbs), it sits kind of firm. I like the chair. Beats a bonded leather that peels like bad paint.

Just okay, needs a gel cusion seat.

I go through a chair about once a year being 5'7" and weighing 300 lbs. and I don't see this one lasting much longer than the rest. Feels like they used cheap foam on the seat and is uncomfortable so I'll be looking for a seat pad soon for it. This chair might be fine for those under 250 lbs. Easy to assemble but it came with the box not taped shut good and was open but wasn't missing any parts luckily. The sliding arms are always getting loose and don't want to stay tight so I maybe adding some locking washers to the wingnuts. I wish it leaned back a bit more so I can take quick naps in it as I'm in it for 6 hours a day on my computer. I'm pretty sure if your over 6' tall, the back won't support your head though it shows to be a highback chair in photos. The seat is very wide if you have a large bottom and the arms will expand making even more room. Not a fan of the rough feeling material.

Eh- okay chair with some technical dislikes

This chair is huge- so definitely for very tall people, either you can sit against the back and have your calves cut off or touch the floor and not be able to sit back. Assembling the back piece didn't go well- bolts provided didn't reach and the back seemed weak at best; leaning would break it off. I didn't find it comfortable at all, just spacious. It came with a faulty pneumatic lift mechanism. Returned it.

I’ve had this chair for about a month now. I’m a 26 Y/O, active male. 5’11” 165lb. Recent events have had me working remote (I also enjoy to game during the colder months), so this chair is getting about 12 hours of use per day as a computer/office chair.

Not Worth the Money

Going down hill only 5wks after assembly. Base pieces cracked off after the second week. the cushion deflated after a few weeks leaving the feeling like sitting on a plastic chair. I can actually hear plastic board buckling in the seat cushion area. I'm not that big. Very disappointing for the money spent on such poor quality. Already getting back aches. It's Wide, that's why I gave it one star.

I have only had this chair for 2 weeks but I have to say it is a wonderful chair. The seat is comfy to sit on it operates with ease, it was easy to put together and has plenty of room. There are few -small- downsides. The fabric on the arms is slightly textured and rubbed my skin a little, I purchased covers and it solved the problem. Being a short person this chair, even at its lowest sits pretty high off the ground (hint chair makers not all large people are tall people) This is easily resolved by my foot rest I already had so no big deal but if you are short (i'm 5'1") it will be to high for you at its lowest setting) These are very small drawbacks and the chairs structure, size, easy of use and adjustements more than make up for these downsides.

Uncomfortable

The chair is uncomfortable and makes mu rear end hurt from sitting in it. I thought the way it leans forward to take the weight off of your legs would be a good this but it is just awkward and puts more pressure on your tail bone. The adjustable arms do not screw in all the way. The screws are too short to be tightened enough to keep them from wobbling. I am really disappointed with this chair.

Difficulty assembling

the only complaint I have is that the instructions were not clear - there are people out there who need written step-by-step instructions to go along with the pictorial instructions, me being one of them. If they get stuck using the pictured instructions, at least they have the written ones to fall back on. I had a difficult time attaching the back of the chair to the seat of the chair and the arms were difficult as well. Again, written instructions would have helped with this tremendously.

Very comfortable and plenty of room!!

I just finished assembling this beautiful chair, and I'm already in love with it! I'm a pretty big guy 6'0 330, and this chair has all the comforts and space you could ask for. The armrests are adjustable to go up/down and side to side which is great. I have the armrests at the shortest setting, and there is still plenty of room. The chair itself looks gorgeous, and absolutely the most comfortable chair I've ever had. The headrest is also very nice, and when reclined I could fall asleep in it!. I would definitely recommend this chair, and for the low price you just can't go wrong!

I bought this a while ago, and everyone wants to either buy it from me or sit it themselves. Soft!!! COMFORTABLE!!! Customize to your liking seating adjustments; when upcoming work days look to be long - this chair makes me want to go the office... Height is tall enough for anyone!!! especially for anyone those that have 30"-33" table heights and want the chair arms to to fit perfectly in. Regardless if you're tall or heavy; when it comes to comfort, STYLE, and customizing this is one!!! Very FAST AND EASY to assemble, VERY STURDY, and you might need another to help to lift each piece into place like me... Shipping was FAST!!! Ended up buying one for home and office; and would recommend this ANYONE!!!

Easy To Assemble

I ordered this chair for my husband for the home office. Big pro is comfort and size, yet light enough for me to assemble and move around. Con is that the arms are not snug enough and still move a little after everything is screwed down in place. It is a minor nuisance. The chair is very comfortable and the back support is wonderful. The base and arms are plastic painted in metal-finish. Not sure how durable these will be, we shall see. But for the price and comfort I have no complaints so far.

Not the greatest

I bought this chair Oct 2013 and have used it daily up to ten hours. I weigh about 290 lbs, but I decided to go with the Big and Tall 400 lb chair just in case. The base is sturdy, I like the lumbar support and I like the tilt. The arms were immediately annoying, coming loose and needing to be tightened weekly, then daily, then I finally just gave up. I realized the screws had stripped making the arms wobbly and unable to be tightened. Now I have pieces of cardboard jammed in there to give some semblance of support. Even so, the arms wobble all over the place with no way to tighten them. After about 6 months the padding seemed depleted. I had to get an additional cushion to keep the buns happy. I am going to contact the company about the warranty. Why can't someone just make a good chair in the first place???

I hope you have a good chiropractor.

Do. Not. Buy. This. Chair. Yes, it is large enough for a big/tall individual, and it rolls easily, but that is where it stops. The fabric is super cheap, and if you own an animal forget it...it is like a giant lint roller. The padding on the arms wears away very quickly, and what is there pushes to the side, so that your arms rest very uncomfortably on bare metal. My biggest complaint for this chair is that the unnatural seat angle pitches forward, practically spilling you onto the floor, and compressing the lower vertebra in your back, causing a lot of lower back pain if you sit more than 20 minutes. And the tipping gets progressively worse the longer you use the chair. There is no way to remedy this problem either....Oh wait, yes there is....throw the chair in the landfill, which is what I am going to do as soon as I receive my tax refund.

SO Disappointed!!

Purchased this chair for it's sturdy capacity, wide seat, adjustable (height and width) arms, and it's good looks. Not a cheap chair, but I felt the high cost would be justified by receiving a quality product.

Big and comfortable

Assembling the chair was straight-forward. Shipping to the local Staples was the correct thing to do since it probably would have been left outside. The shipping box was in rough shape with a hole top and bottom where the spokes of the stand broke through. The spokes were well-packaged and did not have any damage. The box was big enough to need two people to carry but was able to fit in the car's backseat. Did not receive e-mail or phone call when it arrived at store but knew it was delivered when checking order status. It is comfortable and sturdy. No information on how to tilt chair or tilt mechanism. Found out by looking for similar chairs and any information about tilting. To tilt, pull out the lift handle an inch to unlock the tilt mechanism.

Comfortable real leather chair.

This is a chair for a big person - the arms are adjustable up and down, and in and out. The leather appears to be good quality; it is certainly roomy. The wheels are sturdy; they will move more easily on a wood floor or rug protector than on the carpet. Multiple adjustments for height and incline are available; lumbar support could be more definitive, but a bolster for a smaller person will work well.
