This is a quick and easy fix to any stairs you want more grip to. They don't install with adhesives or anything, but you can certainly add them for more protection. Just on their own, without adhesives, they stay rather well.

She was having difficulty coming down and immediately after putting these pads on the stairs she was up and down like she used to when she was younger. They stay put fairly well even though she’s a 60 pound dog. They are soft on our feet too.

Nice stair treads. I am using these on my stairs from my garage into the house, and they've been great, especially with dirty shoes in winter months. The backing is 100% rubber, and I have had no issue with them skidding at all, just laid on top of the stair treads. They're in pretty regular use, as it's the easiest entrance into the house, and I do have a small dog, and he goes up and down fine.

I got these step covers to cover our stairs going to our basement and cover up the ugly wood steps. They have a nice rippled tread design that really helps cushion the steps, And the rubberized backing really holds them from slipping. However I think it would be helpful if they had a peel and stick backing because you really need to either nail or staple them down so they cannot move and cause a trip hazard. They are well made and look nice. They come in 2 different colors, Black and Beige. I got both so it helps break up the look and makes the steps much easier to see as well. Overall a nice product.

The Ottomanson Lifesaver Collection Black 8" x 30" Scrape Ribbed Stair Tread Cover is a great way to add some grip and sound dampening to your stairs. The tread cover is about 1/4 inch thick with a rubber backing. They don't seem to be non-skid and will move around during use. I fastened mine to the stair tread with some staples that were placed inside the rib so they wouldn't be as noticeable. Also, the stairs lead to my garage so I wasn't concerned about damaging the wood. If you are using these on interior hardwood stairs you may want to use some double sided carpet tape to keep them in place. The thickness of the tread cover is great for sound dampening. If your kids sound like a heard of elephants when they run down the stairs these will definitely help. They also help pets get a better grip when tearing around the house and running on the stairs. Fido will have no problems running at top speed with these tread covers installed.

Overall these are pretty good and do what they say, although the non-slip backing doesn't actually work that well and I wish they came in bigger packs for a whole stairway. I put them on the basement stairs and they have cut down somewhat on the amount of dust tracked upstairs, which is nice. Some spray adhesive or something applied to the back should hold them in place a little better. They stink when they're first unpacked, but they do air out pretty quickly

In my opinion these are a good choice for stairs going to your basement. I don't think I would use them in a living area as a stair tread covering. I don't think they are meant for open living areas. I chose to install them with double-sided tape. Although there is a decent rubberized backing that would make them non-slip I would not trust any product that is not secured to the staircase. I had them delivered to my house and they come packaged well. They are folded in half and wrapped in clear plastic. Once unfolded and laid flat you may notice some differences between each of the stair treads. The corners are not quite rounded the same and the length of each does vary ever-so-slightly. Once installed on the stairs you will not notice any differences whatsoever. Overall this is a great purchase for a good product that I would purchase again in the future.

We needed new stair tread covers for our garage steps and these Ottomanson Livesaver Collection Scrape Ribbed Stair Tread Covers in Black were just the right ones. We are retired so we use the stairs continuously all day long while working outside or in the garage. They don't need to be permanently attached. They lay on the steps and don't move much because of the backing on them. I've walked on them without shoes or socks and the material is very soft. They are a good quality for the price.
