Works great. Got them to help with the smell of cigarette smell and the smoke. I quit and hate having me and my clothes stinking. Units are very quiet and reasonably priced would definitely recommend them.

It doesn’t make the room feel or smell fresh. It just blows air

It has a cover over the filter with no air holes, all the air flow has to go around a small gap around the sides of the cover making a lot of wind noise, restricting air flow and probably using a lot of electricity. The low and medium speeds are very low and may be okay for a really small area, the high speed is very, very loud. There are indicator lights on top of the unit. To make this usable, I removed the filter cover completely and turned the unit toward the wall, so It would not look so ugly without the cover, put tape over the indicator lights so they would not disturb my sleep. I want a fan to drown out outside noises, so the low and medium speeds are too quite forcing me to use the high setting, but it is really difficult getting used to the excessive noise this thing makes. The only good thins about this product is that it is reasonably priced, and has simple switches as opposed to digital controls making it easy to operate and probably giving it a long life.

Cheaply Made Motor Bearings Rattle

Bought three of these from BB&B. One was returned and replaced due to motor rattle. The other two have motor bearing rattle and I am sick of dealing with them. Donating these and looking for something higher quality. Am tired of dealing with BB&B customer 'support' and SPENDING WAY TOO MUCH TIME on these defective things. Every consumer appliance I have ever seen is shortchanged on fan motor bearings. For appliances with fans it's always the first thing to fail for me.

First off I want to say... it works. I had burned a iron skillet and my house smelled from it. I actually received the air purifier just a day later. I ran it on high all day and I could tell when I went outside and came back in a short time later the smell was better in the house. So then I ran it on low all night and when I got up this morning I didn't smell the burned skillet smell at all. I hope it helps with the dust too & pet dander.

Great for allergy sufferers.

On high fan mode IT IS LOUDER THAN A WINDOW AIR CONDITIONER ! That is bottom of the barrel... Highly NOT recommended. Edit: 1/19/2014: BB&B replaced the loud unit and the new one works just fine.

Over a month and Still waiting for it to ship.

Ordered on 12/18 and it still hasn't shipped and they won't let me cancel even though the don't even know where it's at. A wasted Xmas present that is stranded in limbo. And customer service is non existent because it's mainly AI. Kohls needs to get it together ASAP.

Very happy with the sound level of this purifier. While it’s pretty quiet, the sound it does make is very “white noise” and monotone. My husband has allergies so we run this in the bedroom constantly since he seems to sneeze mostly at night. We’ve had this a couple of weeks and so far so good, much less sneezing!

I love the Sharper Image Home Comfort Purify 3 Air Purifier. My house is a zoo for animals. I have 4 dogs, 5 birds, 1 hamster, and 1 hedgehog that all have their unique smells. This system has done wonders in my living room where us humans and animals spend a majority of our time. I noticed a huge difference right away with how clean and fresh the room feels. Even my other half who works on the road could tell a huge difference when he came home. The filtration system captures 99.97% of airborne particles including ultra fine particles. The carbon filters helps to trap odors. The pre filter can be hand washed to help reduce the cost of filters. There is a filter indicator light to give you a heads up when the filters need attention. There are 3 speed settings to help achieve freshness. Even with being on the highest setting, the noise level was quiet. I wasn't having to increase the volume of my tv so I could hear it. I will defiantly be investing in a second one to use in my bedroom so help with the dog smell in there.
