Costco Blendtec model is a joke. Please do not buy

I have the Classic model sold at Costco. Please be aware that this model only has 1 year warranty. Couple of years after the purchase, the jar started leaking from the bottom. Called the customer support and they told me since my product is out of warranty, I will be need to purchase a new jar. After I voiced my concerns that how such an expensive machine would have issues in couple of years, I was offered a discount on the new jar. I bought the jar hoping the new one would be better. But lo and behold, it started leaking after 2 years. The website says that jars have 3 year warranty so I call support but was told that since I got a discount on the jar, it does not come under warranty and I would have to buy a new one. This is crazy! Not sure if they sell a subpar product at Costco but if I knew this earlier, I would have never bought it. Are we expected to throw money at this machine every couple of years? This entire experience was really disappointing.

Love these blenders

We have had ours now for almost 20 years I think. We have had to take advantage of the 8 year warranty a couple times but WOW, do they take good care of you. I am always shocked how easy and helpful they are when it comes to customer service. We use this blender almost every single day and it works perfect every time. Highly recommended.

Great Blender - Very Pleased

We just love our Blendtec. We spent a while doing a lot of research before purchasing this brand, and I am glad we did. We have the "twister" jar and are having a lot of fun making smoothies. I've also experimented with grinding up nuts and dried coconut and in both cases, the blender turned the nuts and the dried coconut to an excellent fine powder. It's relatively easy to clean - we just rinse the jar and top in warm water after each blend. In particular, my teenager is having a blast making smoothie recipes and has become inspired to buy ingredients and try new foods. Highly recommend this is a great blender for families.

Years & Years Of Good Service. Thank You Blendtec!

I first saw the Blendtec being demonstrated in Costco. It’s been a good twelve years since I purchased . I have two of the classic units each with thousands of blends, I had two jars replaced under the seven year Costco warranty.

We actually have both a vitamix and a refurbished blendtec and they both live up to what they say they can do. They both have their pros and their cons but if you’re stuck between the two, one major difference is their approach at blending. Vitamix can be a more manual, in control type approach, while the blendtec is more simple and convenient. Unless you have the super high end vitamix, they don’t come with buttons the way blentec does, they use a knob that you adjust to the speed you need for whatever you’re making. I really like that with our Blendtec, I can throw in the necessary ingredients, select the corresponding button for what I’m making and walk away while the blender does the rest. This is helpful for morning smoothies or cleaning up while my blender makes my soup. Another thing I love about blendtec is the beautiful, sleek interface because it adds a techy, modern type look to our kitchen. I think the other reviewers have nailed it in terms of how pleased they are with its blending quality. You’ll definitely get silky smoothies without leftover chunks or seeds. Like I said, you can’t go wrong here and you will love your new blender!

Changed what I think a blender is for.

Bought this from costco.com, with the Wildside and Twister jars; it showed up Christmas Eve 2015. My doctor had told me I needed to bring my blood pressure down, so I looked into what people do to achieve that. Healthy food. And exercise.

Really Good but No Panacea

I bought the Blendtec Total Blender with Wild Side Jar and Twister Jar about six weeks ago. I'm new to the blender and super healthy eating worlds so it's been quite a learning curve for me regarding both. It's not exactly "plug and play" as demonstrations suggest. I mostly use the twister jar as I typically make only 1-2 servings and it's easier to clean and dry.
