Worth every penny

Where has this cutting board been all my life? I'd previously had a small, brown Epicurean cutting board which I loved for its washability, but it was very small. While it is good for slicing lemons or limes it is too small for cutting up a chicken or dicing a large quantity of veggies . The size of this larger cutting board is perfect for most everyday tasks and the black color is wonderful, no staining from tomatoes or meat sauces etc. Large enough to cut up a chicken but still fits in the dishwasher. This newer Epicurean board also has flattish rubber feet that keep the board from slipping around on the counter during use.

Good Purchase!

Getting rid of plastic in our home, and these cutting boards fit the bill. The best feature IMHO is the non-skid pads that are "life changing" (not really, but they are nice). Dishwasher safe. Recommend.

Not what I expected

I bought 2 boards because of the color and look to be displayed on my counter. Unfortunately I found the black to rub off onto my food when cutting (chicken) even after having them for a year. I like that they’re dishwasher safe though they release an odor, but unless I’m chopping veggies it’s not good for meats. I need to find replacements.

Practical board

I like these cutting boards a lot. I appreciate that they are thin and don't take up too much room. I also like that they fit in my dishwasher. I'd like them more without the curved sides.

Great cutting board!

Love my cutting board. It is easy on my knives. Both sides are a cutting surface, and both sides have non-sip dots on the corners. Highly recommended.

these are fantastic

these are fantastic. I’ve had the large board for about 10 years. Absolutely love it. They are just high priced. I would definitely recommend getting one if you have the money.

We have been using the 1 size smaller version of this board for the past several years and it has always been a pleasure to use. This large one is just as easy to use however you start to appreciate the just a little extra space you can have to do food prep without having to mess around with moving food. Great buy and awesome business to deal with

Smells like my favorite childhood mortuary!

Love the look! Only comes with one cutting board and the cutting board smells vaguely of formaldehyde in a mortuary.

Worth every cent

I have three sizes of these, plus one that is like a wide-ish paddle board, and love them. This one is the medium size and will be my go-to (just me in my household). Plastic cutting boards don't work for me, and wood can hold onto germs... these are perfect.

Best nonslip Boards - No Cuts

These are my favorite cutting boards. My second set actually. Durable, easy on knives and come out of the dishwasher with no problem. Also many sizes make them great for all kinds of uses. The slight bounce of the board takes a little getting used to, but the nonslip circles ensure you never have to worry about inadvertent cuts of you fingers. There are newer versions with more band no slip pads but I haven't' tried them yet.

Good all purpose boards

Bought a couple of these over the years and they hold up well to chopping and dishwashing. Bought new ones for chopping after my husband repurposed my old board to pizza server. Manufacturer doesn't appear to sell the non-slip versions (???). Sur La Table shipped these in a box too small for the contents.

maybe nonslip is not needed

There was a strong scent from the cutting board initially, but after some washes, it is no longer there. I purchased the nonslip version, since I saw reviews saying without them, the board moves while using. The nonslip works, but since the board is slightly elevated, it is noisy while chopping. It does help placing a towel under the board while chopping. So maybe I should have just purchased the regular version without the nonslip since the towel would help keep the board in place. The board is great quality and sturdy. It is lightweight. Recommend the board.

There's no indention made when chopping and cutting, which to me makes me happy to know risk of food matter, such as meat or chicken or pork juice getting in the grooves because there's no grooves. I do however still wash very good with hot soapy water.

Great look

This is such a sturdy and well made piece. Looks beautiful on the countertop. I use it for everything except raw meat. It wears well after knife use and clean so nicely.

Clean and clean-cutting, but is it green?

I like the resistance of the Epicurean cutting board to crumbling and ease of cleaning as compared to plastic cutting board, although it is a little bit noisy under the knife. I would recommend the Epicurean, except that I still question its environmental footprint.

It's just okay

The board is pretty pricey for what it is. It doesn't exude luxury or high quality, it's just heavy and the fiber feels a little cheap. The weight makes it a bit impractical and the size doesn't allow it to fit in the dishwasher (which defeats the purpose of it being dishwasher safe) and hand washing it means huge spillage over my sink. I would not recommend this for apartment folks in urban areas--if you have some large, grand home with a ton of space, then go nuts.

Many knife marks right away but seems to be quality item

I read a lot of reviews before purchasing and believe it to be a good product, however, I am surprised how fast you get all the knife marks and nitches into the board and not sure how easy food will be able to be cleaned from these areas over time. I've only owned it for a few months now but hope it will last a long time but remains to be seen. The non-skid feet work well but possibly a bit large and can get in the way sometimes when chopping and scraping food off the board with a large chefs knife into the intended vessel.

Magic board at a magic price.

Exactly as described on the tin, robust prep board which will last years. Ive been using them for 4+ and never had a problem. Only maintenance, If you regularly chop then ther board will naturally degrade. This is not an issues as all that is required is a sharpe knife to scrape the surface and it is then as new. Rinse repeat and last for ages.

Easy to Use & Care For

Epicurean cutting board is very light and easy to handle. It dries quickly and doesn't need additional care such as oiling. I haven't used it long term enough to tell the effects on knives, but overall, I am glad I purchased it. I did notice a peculiar smell from it though after washing.
