Really nice, roomy, well-designed cage.

I have a cage for my Quaker parrot that is hard to clean--the tray slides out but the grid over the tray doesn't. I frequently struggle to reach in and scrub it clean. This A&E cage has a very nice slide out tray and slide out bottom grid, which makes cleaning MUCH EASIER and faster. In addition, it's roomier, larger while having a bigger footprint. Huge box arrived and I hoped assembly wouldn't be daunting. It wasn't. A second person did come in handy, but the entire thing went together in less than 40 minutes and is very sturdy. The tray and grid both slide out independently. The quality of construction is very good. i really like the flat top, the big door and the bottom storage shelf. The castors roll very smoothly. Bar spacing is perfect for smaller birds, even finches, canaries, parakeets. The included food dishes do leave something to be desired. My Quaker will instantly lift them off and drop them making a huge mess so I had to swap them out for a different type. For the price, I'm very pleased with the design, construction quality, price, free delivery and my overall purchase experience.

Good design, good quality

The cage is sturdy and well made. I wish the main door were a little larger, which would make accessing the cage easier. I love how the bottom grill slides out for easy cleaning. The cart rolls easily on my thick carpet. The assembly instructions are absolute garbage.

The upgrade my lovebird needed!

This cage gives my lovebird so much more space than she had before. It was easy to assemble and seems very durable. Cleaning is a breeze as the tray and bottom grate easily slide out. My one gripe is that it seems like the cage is meant to rest on the stand, which seems a little dangerous. I ended up zip tying it since I don’t plan on using it without the stand.

Great quality and size

This cage is pretty massive. I had to buy quite a few perches, swings and toys. I also put several large branches inside. The casters roll very smoothly and the tray pulls out nicely. I love the space for my parakeets. Most large cages have more than .5” bar spacing, so I was happy to find this one. The storage under the cage is also a huge plus.

The best cage yet

I love this cage and my bird loves it too. I got it for my green cheek conure and it's really amazing because she can fly from one side to the other. The door is large, so she has no issues with me putting her in there while she's standing on my hand. I've found that too small of a door on the cage, and she won't go in. The other thing is it is a nice quality, and solid, and the shelf underneath is super handy.

Very easy assembly but a piece was bent

Huge cage, yet very mobile. I was worried that it would be hard to put together as the parts were not labeled, but it took me about 30-45 minutes to put it together by myself. I did have to hammer a piece of the stand flat, as it came bent and damaged and would not fit otherwise. The blue color is bright and beautiful and even. The bars are sturdy and straight. I don’t love the food and water dishes that came with it, they feel cheap. One of the perches that came with the cage was completely snapped. The other did not even come close to fitting the cage.

Excellent quality, worth the price

Many similar looking cages on the market for this style cage, but after decades of having birds, I can attest to the quality of A&E cages for their price point. Definitely worth spending a little extra on them for the higher paint quality, better materials, better design/features, and longevity of the cage. What you may not notice up front, will stand out over time as these cages don't deteriorate like their cheaper copies (via bent or broken bars, rust, chipping paint).

Amazing Cage

I do not always write reviews but felt compelled to write a review for the A&E Company Flight Bird Cage and Stand. The delivery was prompt and arrived in pristine condition. The packaging was such to avoid any shipment damage. I found the assembly very easy although as others said the directions were not helpful. Having experience assembling birds cages in the past made this one a breeze. I assembled everything myself but did need help putting it on the stand. I did read one review that said to make sure the stand tab were on the inside and that was helpful. The cage is extremely sturdy and well made. I bought this cage for my Kakariki who is a very active bird. I do let her out of the cage to fly but she has a lot of room in this cage and is very happy. If you are on the fence about buying the cage I would not hesitate to buy another if the need arises.

Beautiful Cage

I have 3 A&E dome top cages but wanted a flight cage and so glad I found this one. Love that it can be used with or without the stand. Its very sturdy and has a lot of space for perches and toys. The only thing I would change is the doors. The main door would be great if it was longer. And the side small doors need a locking system. Using this for budgies do now worries with side doors but I clean my cages twice a day and getting in and out the main door is a bit of a challenge. Would definitely recommend it. Chewy was fast with delivery and everything was packaged very well.

Big solid perfect. If you can assemble, it shows you can outwit your bird!

Wonderful! I always read reviews and after comparing many reviews on many sites, this seemed like the biggest, best cage I could afford for my green cheek conure. It came faster than expected. It fits together perfectly! As everyone says, the instructions are deficient. It wouldn't kill them to add stickers, or even part numbers. But it's doable, even for someone like me who lacks confidence in my assembly skills. Thank goodness for a comment that explained the green tubes fit on the outside of the legs, with the tabs being furthest out and pointed up, which creates two solid bars to support the cage, which slides down on top of the bars; the cage fits very neatly inside the tabs.

Great size and quality!

This cage is amazing for any small bird like budgies, cockatiels and smaller conures, I wouldnt put anything larger than a sun or jenday conure in this cage. I highly highly recommend this cage to anyone with a small bird, it is so worth the price! I honestly think that this 32 inch flight cage should be the standard size to put a small bird in and not those tiny flimsy table top cages.

awesome cage green cheek approved

This is the cage I’ve been looking for! This is an excellent quality cage! Only 192.00 on sale. I have a yellow sided green cheek conure and she loves her new cage. Instructions aren’t much help but it took me about an hour. I have put many bird cages together over the years. When putting the stand together make sure to put the bars on the inside and not the outside of the stand. If not done properly the cage will be unstable. Highly recommend this cage. Plastic bowls are worthless I used stainless steel bowls they fit perfectly. Rolls around with ease and love the storage underneath.

Nice bird cage

This bird cage is very nice; however, the instructions are not very helpful. I ordered the white cage, and I am very pleased with the overall quality of the product. It is a huge improvement over the cages I currently have. The cage itself is easy to put together, but the stand took some trial and error because the instructions are not at all clear. When you attach the long poles that will hold the cage to the legs, put the side with the tabs inward. (See photos)

Happy birds!

Got this cage (on sale, in blue) for our newest addition, a white bellied caique. What I love about it: very roomy for smaller birds (ringnecks, caiques, conures, etc.); well constructed; great lock on front door; fairly easy to assemble; super easy to roll around. What's not to love: pretty much what's already been said; front door is too small for easy access to clean or add toys (just design with the same door on the sides, too); cheap perches, food/water dishes (forget the dowels and plastic, provide metal dishes); less than great instructions (how hard would it be to place stickers that say "inside back", "inside left", "inside top", etc). My cage had one issue wherein a hole on the stand did not align so I couldn't get the screw in. I put that side to the back and will get a smaller screw later. Had that not been the case, a definite five stars, design aside. In fact, I'm ordering a second for our conure. Finally, A & E is a cage company, says so right in their name. Shouldn't they see these design flaws (especially the door) in prototypes and fix before manufacturing?

Budgie Rescuer

A woman died in my mother's apartment building and left behind a little budgie. My mom asked if I would take her...we didn't know what her fate would be if I didn't. I have two cats so I knew the little wire cage that could be easily bent would not do. I bought this cage for under $200 and it is steel, power coated and very well made. I know she is safe from my cats. I did a week of squirt bottle training and now my cats stay away from her cage and just watch her from a distance. I have them trained to not be any closer than a couple of feet from the cage. I can work and go about my day knowing she isn't a snack. I secure her in a locked room each night. I love that I can easily roll her off to bed and cover her in another room and know she is safe. I thought it would be a nightmare to try and protect her from my cats. However, this cage makes it so much easier. They can't get her through the steel bars and if they try and poke a paw in she can easily fly out of reach. I don't leave them alone with her unattended anyway. But I like that I can relax and move about the house during the day without worrying the cats will try and aggravate her. She has nice natural wood branches and I bought her foraging toys. She is so happy and sings to let me know. My mom saw the cage and said...God must love that little bird for her to have ended up with me.

Really Impressed

I got this for my two budgies (note: it could hold a few more or a single small species conure or cockatiel, I just like giving all my birds ridiculous palaces). Assembly instructions are vague but it's pretty straightforward, and really easy if you have a power drill with a hex attachment. Cleaning is easy! I put a stack of newsprint packing papers on top of the grate and just slide one out every morning, and one piece of standard packing paper fits the bottom perfectly. This is low-stress for me and the birds. I leave the tray in to catch any stray bits, which I can easily pick up with a small shop vac. The color is really nice and tasteful, which isn't a top priority in a cage for me but is a nice feature. This cage is really impressively sturdy, and a nice size. It's also not needlessly tall. Most parrot species don't use vertical space much, which just leaves you bending over to get poop trays and clean cage bars for no reason. I appreciate that that space is used for storage on this cage. I don't know much about finches, though. If they need vertical space, there are probably better cages. I wish larger bird cages were designed this smart, honestly. The door is also nice and large which makes it easy to get toys, food, etc in and out and work on taming and training. A&E isn't usually a go-to brand for me, but they really got it right here! I'm getting a crimson-bellied conure in Febuary and this is going to be my pick for habitat!

Got the Green one, one person assembled, packaged well

This feels like a high quality cage and all the pieces fit together well and appear perfect, I would buy again. I am sharing a picture of the instructions included. They are VERY simple and it would not be difficult for them to label the pieces to make it much easier for the customer, however I did put this together myself although two people would have made it much quicker. (TIP: on the two horizontal 'tube' bars that screw into the top of the stand, make sure the small metal pieces welded to the sides are facing away from the stand as the cage will rest on top of the bars, inside these metal pieces.)

Absolutely love the amount of room it has

I absolutely love this cage. It’s huge. I still have to buy more perches because I wasn’t ready for this much room. The bars are pretty strong and is holding up the toys without bending. Love that there’s a shelf on the bottom, it’s nice and strong, it’s holding up the ungodly amount of food I have for all my birds. I did zip tie the cage to the stand because the cage moved around a lot on it.

Great cage for great price

I had a large cage for my two parakeets, but when I added two more, they seemed to fight more. They also appear to like moving from side to side more than up and down. I like that this cage is nice and wide for them. They LOVE the extra space and they fly much more which seems to make them very happy. There is less squabbling and they have room to get away from each other if they need some "alone time." This has in turn made them much more friendly to each other, if that makes sense. The price was much better than I had found with any other flight cages. It is very sturdy, yet lightweight enough to move around when cleaning. The ONLY negative, which did not matter much, is that the directions to put it together are really vague. There is no way to tell which way to install the bars on the front and back of the stand. I tried one way and it was wrong, and of course the other way was wrong too... So I switched things around again and finally found the right way. It took about two hours to put together but totally worth the effort.
