The product was fine but HD sent me the wrong sized rolls. I ordered 200sf rolls and received 100sf rolls. Project was delayed while we waited for additional rolls.

Great product. Used in our RV. Hoping the buffer will insulate the floors a bit, from cold and heat coming in. One room gets so hot in summer and cold in winter. May not help, but still put in. Went down easy.

I'm working on a LVT flooring project for my condo - kitchen floor. I have friends who've told me that LVT can transmit noise, and since I have neighbors downstairs who are sensitive to noise, I knew I had to dampen the sound transmitted to the subfloor. I wanted to keep the LVT option open, so I thought I'd give this product a try.

The jury is still out in seeing just how well it performs as a sound buffer. First impression though is that it seems to do that well. The product is a lot thinner and less "spongy" than the foam underlayments I've used and doesn't give that squishy sensation when walked across. It's a lot tougher, very unlikely to tear accidentally during installation. I may have found me a new favorite !

[Rewarded Review] Quality

I am happy with this product. I like that it was very easy to use. I had no problems with it at all. It laid down flat and symmetrical. It seems to be of good quality. I have installed and have noticed it does muffle the sound of one part of our floor that used to squeak loudly. I am satisfied and would recommend!

This dampens the noise a little bit. Enough to notice though. We used it under the carpet padding and carpet in a room above the garage. Before you could hear the garage door opener and door very well. You can still hear it when operating, but the noise it makes it's as loud. It is easy to cut to size and lay out on the floor. We used staples to hold it in place before the carpet pad and carpet were installed. This is more for use under wood floors or tile floors, but we wanted to see how it would work in our application.

Although I didn't glue down this underlayment, I found the double glue down method unique. This could prove to be advantageous for special situations with glue down floors. The underlayment is thicker and more durable than the cheap white foam underlayment that rips easily. It was easy to work with and installed quickly. SoundBuffer does deaden the sound, but it's minimal. Also, it doesn't compress much, but the substrate must still be as level as possible before installation.

This underlayment is great for the plank style flooring we installed. This came in a 100 square foot roll and is wonderful. It is like cushioning under the plank floor boards. I used two rolls of these for my bedroom floor, this one and also a 150 square foot roll. These are great as a soundbuffer like it states as well. I wish we had used these when installing the flooring in my daughters room as well for the sound issues. I can hear every step in her room but with these it doesn't seem to be like that. I will be using these underlayment for all my other flooring installs in the next few years.

Good plasticity if this is the effect that you're looking for. The sound insulation function is minimal but good for the thickness of the material. I measured it reduces close to 5 db from 55 to 50 from a nearby source.

This turned out to be a little thinner than I thought it would be...didn't see it in person before I ordered it...could have been just a little thicker for my purposes. Wanted thinner to not add extra height to my laminate so it lines up with my adjoining carpeting...this will still work ok. I like that it's latex rubber. Smells like vanilla! (what's up with that?). Lays nice once it flattens out from being rolled. I also like that it has soundproofing qualities, gives it more value. A good, basic underlayment. Also, CRI certified, which is a good credential to have...I looked for that in a carpet cleaning solution recently, & that worked out good for me.

This underlayment is a great option for those installing the popular luxury vinyl tiles on the market today. We decided to install some in our basement bar area and going over the concrete was the challenge. With the sound buffer underlayment all of our concerns were met and exceeded. The sound difference with and without the underlayment is definitely noticeable. I installed a small section without it and walked across it with my workbooks on and it had the plastic sounding high pitched clank to every step. With it installed under the tiles the sound completely changed to more of that low thud that definitely is less noticeable and more natural. It is amazing that something as thin as this underlayment is could make such a difference but it does.

I remodeled my main bathroom and used this under the new vinyl floor. It was easy to cut and trim and didn't move around once put on the floor, though I did use double sided tape for the corners and along the tub just in case. I have some creaks in the subfloor but didn't want to mess with it out of laziness. Anyway, this does act as a sound buffer and I can hardly hear the creaks at all and it is nice to go into the bathroom and not feel like I am walking on cement. The floor isn't "cushiony" at all but is a "softer" floor, which I like very much.

This is the very thin underlayment meant for use as a vapor barrier. It does provide a layer of soundproofing even though it is thin. This is because the rubber does not allow sound to be transmitted as easily as if the tile or plank is connected directly to the floor. Sound travels through metal, concrete, wood, etc faster than through the air. It makes a break in the solid transmission of the waves.
