Good underlayment but hard to cut with utility knife - use multi tool

It’s east to work with, but it’s of soft and left a hollow sound under LPV. I changed it out for OSB glued to slab

Wish it came 1/2" thick. But very easy to cut and install

The underlayment was exactly what we needed! We were going to use 4x8 sheets of plywood, but those are too large and bulky to easily manage. The 2x3 wood fiber underlayment was easy to work with, though since it was only 1/4" thick, we did need 2 layers to make up the 1/2" that we needed. Plus it was delivered to our home so we didn't have to go to the store and buy the 4x8 sheets of plywood. A win-win in our minds. Would definitely buy them again.

Hate is a strong word.

I wanted some extra noise reduction in the kitchen so I added this product only there and under the step into the kitchen. In less then 2 years my floor has collapsed in the high traffic areas especially where everyone seems to use the step. The rest of my house is perfectly flat with no defects so my conclusion is that the Steico sound barrier has collapsed and crumbled under my LVP. You can see cracks in the floor where the product failed. Now I need to re-floor the kitchen. Hate is how I feel

Quality and easy to use

I just used this underlayment to go over a tile in a small room. My tile had deep grout so I wanted something thicker to go under my lifeproof LVT. This stuff was awesome. 1/4 inch thick and I could score it with a utility knife and break it off. I would recommend this for anyone that could make it work for their project.

I have to give a shoutout to a manufacturer for their amazing customer support and for answering our million questions before we bought it! I used STEICO underlayment for my LVT flooring project and it worked fantastic. At first, we were thinking about going for a thicker option, but our installer recommended the 1/8" since we were focusing on extra sound insulation. We ended up using it in combination with plywood, putting a layer underneath and another on top. We received very detailed guidance and according to our contractor, it was super simple to install. I feel good about using a natural and eco-friendly material, but be mindful that it is lightly fragile before you lay it down but at the same time, it is easy to cut and adjust. The end result is great and I would definitely recommend giving it a shot! Been installed for 2 months already.
