This quality trash can was well packed, and arrived quickly and in perfect condition, no scratches or dents. It is small but the right size for my small half bathroom. Matt Steel finish doesn’t show any fingerprints. It came with 5 plastic bags I will try to find compostable bags that would fit the space. I plan to buy another Brabantia trash can of the same, or slightly larger size, for my master bathroom.

This is the product I was looking for, I even got a great deal because the was a lower price for one from an open box. Unfortunately the item is damaged, which wasn't disclosed in the description, and frankly feels deceptive. Because it is "open box" it cannot be returned, and not the deal I perceived it to be. SO, while I give the product five stars, that is due to Brabantia NewIcon Step On Trash Can, 8 Gallon actually being a great product. My rating of the product is not a reflection of Wayfair or it's sales practices, or my purchase experience.

I was researching & looking for the best trash & recycle ♻️ cans. I was very disappointed in so many of the styles, designs, & reviews that I read! I googled “The Best Trash Cans of 2023.” I discovered an article written by The New York Magazine. This 30 Litre Newicon was on the “Top 10” list! The review by The New York Magazine was exactly what I needed to read. I ordered two from Wayfair, one for trash & one for recycling. They arrived Friday. I am extremely happy! They are perfect; size, design, strength, & much more! The packaging was great! No dents! I bought the “Brilliant Stainless.” It looks beautiful with my polished nickel chandelier & faucet in my kitchen! These are, in my opinion, the #1 company & #1 trash & recycle ♻️ cans!

Great as a Diaper Pail

We have used this as a diaper pail for two babies. I found it to be perfect for our needs- great size, very stylish in the nurseries, and did a great job keeping the stink contained. I would add a tablespoon of charcoal to the bag if ever it got too stinky, but the can did a really good job of keeping it inside. Unfortunately we moved across the country and the jackhole moving company dented the heck out of it and it doesnt close properly now. I was hoping to replace it, but the price has jumped since my original purchase four years ago. The whole reason that I bought a trashcan instead of an actual diaper pail was to avoid the ridiculous (and unjustified) prices. Unless the bin is going to walk out to the garage and empty itself, Im not paying over $60 for a trash can.

Finally a good looking trash can! Unfortunately in my home there is nowhere to tuck a can away, therefore priority one is looks. Stainless shows fingerprints, plastic

Smart practical design

I love this bin. The soft close feature is a treat after avoiding our old bathroom bin due to the 'clang'. This one is almost silent! The design is understated and beautiful and the product is well made. With toddlers in the house the fingerprint resistant coating is really tested to the max but so far it lives up to the promise. We have a large family and this bin is much too small for the kitchen, but a good size for the bathroom.

Good, sturdy bin.

This is a nice size bin to go under counters and the matt finish looks nice and smart. I've got mine in my craft room and find it much more discrete and stylish than the usual chrome finish. The soft-close lid is a really nice feature, the lid doesnt clatter annoyingly every time it gets used - a godsend when it's in regular use or you have kids about (both here). The pedal operates quite smoothly too, no sudden shifts.

A stylish and practical bin

I thought all bins were similar but I was wrong - this bin really is a cut above others I have owned. First of all it looks really good. The Matt black finish is stylish, easy to clean, and so far hasn't been marked by fingers and water stains. It has an attractive domed lid and is offset with a brushed silver pedal. The Brabantia system means you can secure a bin bag inside without it poking over the sides of the bin. The bin comes with a free sample of the bags, and extra supplies are easy to get hold of.
