[Rewarded Review] Good for kids room decoration.
My 7 yo boy just loved it. It looks great in his room. Mounting instructions were not clear but it was not big deal to figure it out.
Doesn’t spin
Brought for Xmas present, didn’t spin. Been waiting since for assistance but no joy. Waste of money, such a shame
Easy process, product satisfaction
I’m very happy with what I ordered for my boy. He loves it so it’s very appealing to kids learning about the solar system. It was exactly as described on the webpage. Fairly priced, easy to navigate, and promptly posted.
Love it
What a great item. I bought this solar system for my son, when he started asking about planets. This solar system is just amazing. It was very easy to put it together. The light is not too bright, and it could be use as a night light. I read some reviews where people complained about noisy motor, but I didn't find it noisy at all.
Lovely light for kids bedroom
I bought this for my kids bedroom as they love anything to do with space. This is not a mains operated light but quite a dull battery operated night light which is great for when they go to sleep. Planets spin around the sun and it's very entertaining for the kids especially if they have the remote control.
Some of it doesn't fit
It was quite tricky to put together especially when I did't read the instructions. Two of the ends of the white solid wires didn't fit inside the holes in Jupiter and Neptune. The ends were too big (or the holes too small). I had to try to make the holes bigger but then made them too big and so had to use sellotape to hold them in place. This was probably due to the while 'paint' coating over the solid wires being to think and the ends due to the coating process or the plant holes not big enough.
Good idea of a product- could be a better design
It is a great idea and my son (5) really likes it. My only reservation about it is- it is not very well designed e.g. the planets do not fix on very well so they often fall off! Satarn's Ring is paperboard so also falls off and will tear easily. However, once up, it is good that the sun lights up and the planets move.
RC Illuminated Solar System
Great idea but poor quality product and disappointing from an adults perspective. Firstly the motor is too noisy when rotating and the fixings for the metal rods which support the spheres (planets) are a little unstable. This most noticeable when securing to the ceiling plate. However our grandson was pleased with the overall effect.
It keeps the kids amused.
One of our grandsons already had one of these and so as usual the other one wanted one. We bought it for his birthday. Both of the kids love them. Our only complaint about it was that when it arrived by post, the packaging was all crumpled and not in a very good state for it to be given as a present. The item did still work though. It is quick to assemble. The only awkward bit about assembling it is that you have to make two holes in the ceiling to mount it. The item is fascinating to the kids and of course educational so that they can learn about the solar system. Some people have said that it is not good value for money, but if the kids enjoy it, we don't mind paying for it. I would however advise getting one from a shop rather than by post owing to our experience.
Remote Controlled Illuminated Solar System
Bought as birthday present for 5 year old grandson. He was very curious and in a huge hurry for Dad to fix it to his bedroom ceiling. ( His big brother was wowed by it too! ). Think it will give him comfort (he's very scared of the dark) as well as a fun way to learn more about the solar system. Well presented, arrived promptly very satisfied.
WoW
I bought 2 of these Illuminated Solar Systems for my granddaughters' bedrooms. The effect is so stunning and the girls love their planetariums so much. We all love it and sit in the bedroom watching the display. It is quite mesmerising and the girls have learned a lot of things about the planets, encouraging them to find out more. They go to sleep with the planets circling the sun and it switches itself off after a while. The remote control is really great. Couldn't imagine having to climb up and down to adjust the settings. It's a great toy/decoration/learning device.
Remote Control Illuminated Solar System
I have purchased this Solar System kit for my 9-year-old son for Christmas 2011. It came along with other products, very well-packed and promptly delivered. This is a fantastic present for all big and small boys and girls, especially the ones that are interested in space. My son is delighted. His friends are definitely impressed and amazed. The cat seems to be impressed too, spending a good few minutes gazing at the Solar System in movement. It has a very educational booklet and is an exceptionally well-made gadget.
