The key was difficult to turn in the cylinder at first. after a week of using the door it loosened up. Easy installation.

Worked for old Anderson sliding door

This lock was almost exactly like the old Anderson lock. I think my door is pre 1994. Anyway I had to Dremel the inside of the existing lock housing some so the new lock would slide in. Didn't show any blemishes on the exterior. Finally have keys for the back door for a very reasonable price.

Fit my patio door handle lock perfectly. Easy to install. Way cheaper than having to replace the whole handle.

Decent lock

So far it's been working very well.

Worked perfect for my needs, replacing a Schlage Encode Deadbolt lock cylinder to work with a Kwikset keyway. Did have to grind a slot on the top to fit in the current version of the Encode deadbolt (which is the current 2nd gen one, as the 1st gen doesn't seem to have the bump at the top), cylinder has plenty of material at the top so grinding wasn't an issue. Was able to rekey and get it to work, the cap pin was in a different location to the Schlage so couldn't use the Schlage tailpiece but the tailpiece it came with worked fine.

It was a little hard to line up the cylinder. But once we got it done it's been working well.

Does not align with Kwikset keys but there's a fix

This item is advertised to fit Kwikset keys, but it is not true. The key itself is a different type, which is slightly thicker than Kwikset's. The key teeth still align the same. Some of you is probably looking for this item because you can re-key another Kwikset lock to use the same key, so unfortunately the key from this lock will not work.

The installation in our sliding door was a little tight, and as I was trying to adjust the fit, the tailpiece flange broke while unlocking the door. This seems like the only easy-to-get cylinder lock out there, but beware, it's not very robust.

After buying our house two years ago we were missing one key!, they key for the rear sliding door, I explored options for replacement handles and stumbled across this lock cylinder, I just completed the simple installation and now the dog can't lock us out from jumping up and sliding the lock mechanism downwards :)
