Quality alarm clock with backlight

I bought this in the black, very pleased, so bought a second one for my husband.

A much needed producy

Apart from the fact the back light doesn't work, and this is my second clock. I've kept it as l've always had Braun bedside/ travel clocks which l rate highly and they last for years.

The BC22 clock is a cheaply made-in-China product, sold under the auspices of its parent company, Procter & Gamble—a company whose net income amounts to Billions of dollars per year—sold to customers with no less than a 400% markup.

Easy, accurate.

Easy to set time. Easy to set and use alarm. Keeps time properly. Quiet.

Great bedside clock

Hands have a tiny light to see them in the dark - and there's a push switch to light up the clock for just long enough to see the time. It's stylish - a good size and nice colour!

Classy design. Not quite what I wanted.

This clock is smallish, battery-powered, and presentable with a minimalist look. i was looking for a traditional bedside alarm clock. I will repurpose this as a desktop office clock, and look for a wired alarm clock with plenty of power to stay illuminated all the time, ring loud, and with knobs that are easy to set and use.

Stylish Clock

I have bought this Braun clock before and so bought this extra one to put in the grandchildren's room. Rather than the white one, I chose the grey model with white hands. I did this purposely as I use to 'light on' function so the grandchildren can read the dial at night if they wake, and it is a bit less stark than the black dialled one I already have.

Pretty Alarm Clock

This pretty little alarm in grey is perfect for our bedroom. Not too big or too small. Nice light which is not blinding [which many are]. Softer alarm signal, which is not a noisy awakening. Definately worth the money and a five star review. Expect I will be back to purchase another one.

Promising...but fails in important ways

So disappointing. Braun could have made this alarm clock perfect...but failed. Too bad. It has good features, such as a dot showing you whether the alarm is on and a good sized "snooze" button. I had hoped for an easy to read and easy to set simple alarm clock. BUT. This Braun clock (and the other one I am returning) is very difficult to set - the buttons are small and have tiny protrusions that are hard to grasp or even push. There is no reason why they cannot make it easier to set. And you should be able to turn the alarm and time setting buttons in either direction (the arrow seems to imply you need always turn it the same way, so if you miss, say, 8 a.m., you are supposed to go all the way around again to get back to 8.) The ramp up alarm ringer is an idea created in heaven. But this clock has a very short ramp up period. The smallest sound should last long enough for you to awaken without startling, and then move on to the louder sounds which should also go slowly. The whole point is to wake up gradually, and the speedy "ramp up" of this alarm doesn't allow enough time to do that. Obviously, it varies for each person, but Braun should at least make the attempt to do the job correctly. Or maybe they could go over the top and offer a choice of slow or fast ramp up! Probably the slow one would use more battery - but I for one would be most willing to change the batteries more often. Braun has the name, now they should live up to it. I so hope you can be an influence on them to change, though it is true that European manufacturers in general seem to see things differently than we do. (Don't get me going about the disappointments of my quite expensive Miele clothes dryer!) The American reps of these companies often just shrug - they agree with the "American" take on convenience, etc. - but have given up trying to change the Europeans. ) Good luck. I count on MOMA to offer interesting and well made products. And I think Braun could benefit by offering a truly unique alarm clock. I bet they could offer it in bright primary colors, as well as black and white. And change the color of the alarm "arm" so it isn't white. Hard to set in the dark, since it matches the background. If your partner is asleep, it is close to impossible to set. If you should succeed beyond all odds in getting a better alarm clock, please let me know!

– The price doesn't reflect the quality of the materials, it's just an ordinary plastic that has it's tiny inaccuracies

Quiet Sophistication in a Clock

I love this clock. It is analog, the hands tick along silently, it has the option of backlighting (continuous or just a quick check of the time), it has a gentle alarm that gradually builds if you need the increased volume, but begins by softly falling on the ears of those who wake easily. It is modern, it is timeless, it is everything I've been hoping for in a bedside alarm clock. Thank you, Braun.

Had To Return

I like the look of this clock and don't mind paying a bit more for a quality product, BUT this had two fatal issues. 1. The light/backlight function didn't work. 2. Why does a small clock like this need THREE batteries? It is excessive. Had to return. Disappointing.

Good Alarm Clock

I didn't need or want a loud, annoying alarm on an alarm clock. The wake up on this clock works great for me and the 5 minute snooze works. I don't think you can use the snooze option more than a few times (I think it gave up one morning after about the 4th time I hit snooze). Easy to use and easy to read the time for this senior. I like the white color, the curved shape and the smallness of it. Happy I chose this alarm clock after shopping all over the web for quite some time to replace a similar Timex alarm clock I had for many years.

Perfect Bedside Alarm Clock

This is my ideal bedside alarm clock. Excellent design (MOMA sells this in white and I bought it in black from Walmart), good size, quiet second hand, easy to see at night with fluorescent hands and a back light that you can either leave on or keep it turned off and just press the button on the top of the clock for enough seconds of light to read the time. This top button is also the snooze button. Setting the time and alarm are both easy, with a nice arrow to show you which way to turn each knob until you reach the right time. I have no problems setting the time or setting the alarm. One nice feature is when the alarm is set a green indicator is visible. It is easy to turn off the alarm, even in the dark.

Gentle alarm

This little clock is close - the right size, nice design, clear legible face, but the alarm is so soft it wouldn’t wake a mouse!

NOT SILENT!

I purchased this clock to avoid using my phone as an alarm clock to reduce my screen time. For that purpose, it works great. It's compact, and the auto backlight sensor is handy. A couple of gripes with the product: firstly it's not silent. It IS advertised as a 'quiet' model and it is so it's not misleading. On some nights I don't hear it at all but just be wary if you have very sensitive hearing or sleep in a silent room. Secondly, it's expensive and for the price, the plastics (especially on the knobs) feels cheap. I purchased this on the basis that it's a Braun, so I was expecting higher quality. Overall, it does the job and as long as it keeps working I'm satisfied.

Perfect

Exactly what I wanted: a not-too-large, unobtrusive, easy to set, stylish looking alarm clock with a face I could read. The night-time back lighting is an added bonus. I was able to ditch the bulky clock radio I couldn’t set for radio, for alarm, or even for correct time. And I now have one more usable electric outlet. It is indeed perfect!

Love this clock! It takes me straight back to my childhood in the 1980s

This a beautiful and functional alarm clock that existed throughout my childhood as a benign background object. When I saw the clock for sale I had to have it!! It really takes me back and the simplicity of the design in timeless and beautiful. Highly recommend!!

Hour hand not aligned properly

We bought this on s recent visit to MOMA and the Design Store. Didn’t inspect it until arriving home and found there was no way to adjust alignment of hour hand. Clock runs ok, just is very annoying to not have hour hand reading correctly ( at noon both hands don’t overlap 12). Only relief is sending to europe for repair ! This was a $60 alarm clock. The whole experience is unsatisfying.
