Great for the intended purpose and use

This is a parts exchangeable immersion blender and works within those limitations. The motor can get hot fairly quickly and the heat takes a while to dissipate so for that reason you should not expect a high continuous run time of a traditional blender or food processor. 0.5 to 1 minute of run time before you need to rest it, but the parts are designed well enough that you usually do not need to take long to get the job done. Being able to control speeds from 1 through 21 offers a high degree of control of how fine things are chopped with the chopper. The unit and accessories are quite portable. The turbo button is slightly confusing as it's not stated in the instructions whether you use this for pulsing or longer blending but you can do both. It seems to be the max blending speed that is faster than the 21 setting. Could have just added a max speed onto the dial and get rid of a second botton. Another thing that could have been done better is more detailed operating instructions than some textless diagrams.

So far so good. It's a big, solid, powerful immersion blender. It's quite tall, but I like that the stick part is long, keeping my hands away from what I'm blending (I read reviews of cheap models where the stick may have been shorter). Have been making smoothies and it powers through frozen fruit.

I’ve only used it once, but it did a good job making pesto.

Blade housing shape for the win.

Works really well. I like the shape of the blade housing. Seems to minimize splashes. I had the other most popular model with slots in the side of the blade housing. These slots would trap food bits and splash liquids if lifted close to the surface. Braun seems mich better. Clean up is a breeze. Was recommended by America’s Test Kitchen.
