ove breeze - beautiful shower stall but...
beautiful shower stall - door glides nicely hopefully preventing door issues later - biggest gripe is the hardware ie:philips head screws - cheap - they stip easily - extremely difficult to place in channel as they are not hands free unless using a magnetic driver... even more fun removing (needle nose vice grips recommended) suggest replace with quality "robertson" head screws before starting. Also, when installing the mixer, remember the shower wall is 3/4" from your existing wall so accommodate accordingly
Beautiful shower! Needs upgraded instructions
Bought two shower kits, one 32", one 36". I put the larger on together first and wondered why the walls had no real support and were inches away from the drywall behind. Then I put the 32" together and the instructions had been added to - including additional wood cross pieces that took up some of that empty space between the acrylic panels and the drywall. The small shower instruction made so much more sense - I wish I had dome that one first!
Looks nice overall
Bought this for a bathroom remodeling project. Product is good except for the directions. The small pieces looked the same in the directions pictures. Was hard to tell which went where. That was a bit frustrating trying to figure out.
Easy Install
Installed in a new studio. diy project. Contractor Tiled backsplash and even had an unlevel wall on bottom due to instlling tile over shower pan. However, because of the way the shower frame installs it is very forgiving.Tiny frame screw Washers and covers are mislabeled. Common sense fix
Not worth aggravation
Called support after not getting an answers to my emails. Support did not know size of nuts and bolts or have them in stock. He took my number and 3 weeks later still have not heard back. I went to a nut and bolt supply and guessed on the size I needed. Product does not supply proper screws for attaching directly to stud. The cheap anchos they supplied did not so the job. Confusing instructions with 3 booklets. They show the need for adhesive but the wall panels stick out so it would be useless. I had to attach backing wood so the wall would be supported. No where in the instructions was this mentioned. If I had stuck the walls it would have been a nightmare putting the doors on as you had to remove to wall panels to put anchors in. Will not recommend this product or company.
Superbly functional and beautiful shower, but...
We LOVE this shower. Can't say enough great things. BUT the installation was tough. Two handy people working 14 hours. We just needed more information RE the installation. We knew the drain wasn't going to be spot on but moving it a few inches required significant modification (jackhammering cement foundation); walls needed modification too (carving drywall to fit flanges on back of corner connection) to fit in and more. The overall instructions required a lot of nuanced review and interpretation as they were so succinct ad generic as to be lacking should any improvisation be required. After all that, we LOVE LOVE LOVE this beautiful shower... I can't say how much showers are once again a joy for us with this new install. But, wow... it was a tough (yet fun) install. So, just be aware that something similar might happen to you. Also, note that the Home Depot website mistakenly calls a kit that does not include the walls as "all-in-one". That's a HD problem (not an Ove problem), but it delayed our installation by two weeks until OVE could send us the walls directly (for $350 with shipping to US). That said, customer service at OVE was excellent and responsive (not special breaks or anything... but 100% attentive and competent). Overall... now that it's in... couldn't be happier.
Great shower great look difficult install
We chose the shower from among all the others available at the local big box stores for it's size, Best in show looks, and a drain that was going to be close enough to where our drain already was. This was a do-it-yourself install with professional handyman assistance. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because while the instructions are good they were several areas they never discussed. For example cutting holes for the faucet and the shower head, the details associated with rearranging the drain to fit the hole in the pan, and the confusing language on the Home Depot website (which was not a fault of ove), that used the name "all-in-one" for a shipment that did not include the composite walls. All that said, the shower looks great and went in with approximately 10 hours of work with two people which included jackhammering this cement foundation to fit the drain and applying self leveler, breaking through a lot of dry wall to fit the walls, etc. If we ever do this again it will take about 6 hours.
Defective Breeze Base
Bought 36" Breeze enclosure and base from HD last winter 2023. Installed this June. Had a lot of trouble installing a trued glass enclosure on the fiberglass base. Customer Service was often unavailable and replies took weeks. All other parts of the shower system were determined to be both level and plumb. Finally a laser leveler was applied to the fiberglass shower pan revealing the problem, a ¼" to 5/16" lowered gap in the pan, a clear manufacturing defect. Was able to fill with 100% silicone caulk to prevent leaks. Still in all, it does look beautiful once completed.
poor quality
thin material, horrible instructions, nothing pre-drilled. The back walls are very thin and very flexible. The instruction are horrible. There isn't even a section that tells you you have to drill holes for the fixtures. You better be smart and know which side is up and which is down because it doesn't tell you but it makes a difference. There are sections that could have been pre-drilled to make it much easier to put together but they aren't, and yoy have to do it. I purches the 36" but the actual dimensions are 35. If you google the manufactuer instruction video, it doesn't help at all. That one doesn't even tell you to put the holes for your fixtures either.
Ove Breeze 34” Nickel
We bought this to install in a cabin. It comes with 3 separate instruction books. One for the base, one for the walls and one for the doors. I recommend reading all three books first because they overlap on instructions and don’t always say the same thing. It’s a bit confusing at times.
Nice shower for price
We are enjoying the nice shower and the rounded curves of the model. It did prove a bit challenging for my guy installing it because there’s a 1 inch lip that doesn’t allow the shower walls to sit flush against the actual walls. Therefore, he had to cut into the walls to push the shower walls as close and flush to the main walls as possible but the shelves are still flimsy and I don’t put a lot on them. Also found that you can’t properly caulk inside if you have both doors already installed. We did need to put shims underneath the doors where they connected to the shower pan because when the doors were open and close, it kept moving and pulling the caulking off the shower pan.
Flimsy walls
For a shower kit at this price range, I was not expecting the walls to be so flimsy. I should had read all reviews, as I noted after the fact that some folks mentioned this issue. If I had known, I would have ordered the kit without walls and get tile for the walls instead. My contractor had to do all sort of things to make the walls sturdy (insulation and such). On top of that, after I purchased the kit Home Depot significantly reduced the price, twice, and I was not able to get a price adjustment since it was marked as Special Buy. The shower kit looks beautiful, though, and I have only used it a few times, so only time will tell.
Great buy for small space
We have a small bathroom and this unit was a great replacement for our 32” square shower enclosure. The assembly went smoothly. The side walls are secured to the house by screws at the juncture of the dot framing. It has not been a problem but surprising at the lack of attach points. The glass pieces weigh about 40 pounds each. The instructions for the base install calls for cement and I would recommend it. I think there would be soft spots in the shower floor without it.
Quality shower kit
I completed a DIY installation of this shower kit in a very small bathroom at my 100+ year old cabin in Estes Park, CO. I installed the shower as a replacement for a clawfoot tub that took up too much space. I ended up using the shower base and glass enclosure but not the acrylic wall panels since the walls were too out of plumb. The instructions that came with the kit were generally clear and complete though a few details were omitted (e.g., need to drill pilot holes for installation of the frame to the wall tracks). The quality of the shower base and enclosure were very good. However, the phillips-head screws that came with the kit were soft and easily stripped so I bought hex-head screws that I used instead. I have not used the shower yet but I am very happy with the quality and appearance of the new shower.
Seemed great but walls are terrible.
Walls are trash. The drywall anchors keep pulling through. The instructions are not great and sometimes backtrack once you move on. I am at the point I am going to throw the walls away and tile. The walls do not glue on. They just stick up and then you silicone around them. The doors are held on with dry wall screws. Annoying.
Sturdy and beautiful
We bought the 32inch version (without the walls since our shower is already tiled). This totally upgraded the looks and added a sophisticated modern touch. The glass doors are smooth to slide, and the height is just right. The manual is slightly confusing about installation but our contractor could figure it out. I totally recommend this product.
5 Stars
I was looking to replace and update my small bathroom. After a lot of research, I saw this product which was priced right and had the look I was searching for. Not only did it arrive a few days earlier than expected but it was packed excellently. My plumber installed it with no problem or any major complaints except to say that the wall could have been a little sturdier like the base. This new shower kit shape and color truly updated my bathroom, and it is made very well. I couldn't be happier with my new updated shower and recommend this product.
Nice shower for small bathroom
Bought at Home Depot and installed myself. Instructions were clear (they did miss 1 step though that should be between steps 13 & 14: screw frame (L) to wall frame (E) with provided self- tapping screws). I figured that out quickly because shower moves around when doors close otherwise!! Also, TRY TO HAVE STUDS BEHIND THE CORNERS WHERE YOU SCREW THE SHOWER FRAME TO THE WALL!! They provide Ct rap plastic wall anchors (step 6&7) but two pulled right out so I used thicker screws that I had lying around). It’s a simple pretty and functional unit.
Great corner shower kit
I was able to put this together in a few hours with a friend and it looks great! The glass is very sturdy, which says a lot about the glass because it was shipped by the infamous Home Depot and survived a couple mishandles on my end. The chrome looks very modern and they even included little caps to cover any visible screws. Good quality and attention to detail. My only critique would be to go here on this website to find the installation video. The qr code for the video didn't seem to be the exact model I bought. However, the written instructions were pretty clear.
Great Shower
Very happy with this shower so far. Bought it because of limited bathroom space for me; circular door takes less space than a front-opening door. Back ordered and had to wait until Ove production caught up. 15% price difference between two big-box stores. Seems to be several versions of installation manual; contractor used what came with delivered product. Didn't seem to be any problems with installation. Had to add behind-wall support for safety grab bars; good thing contractor knew I wanted those installed before putting shower enclosure up. Happy with purchase..
