Softer defused light

Solid, commercial quality ceiling light. Not as bright as some of the other LED ceiling lights available but offers a softer defused light with even coverage. I needed three lights to cover a 25’ x 15’ shop area with an 8 ft ceiling.

Easiest 4 ft fixture I have ever installed

I purchased this to replace a 4 light fluorescent fixture in our church bathroom. I accidentally bought this one. It is considered a 2-light fixture. I am thankful I got the wrong one. This one is brighter than my 4-light fluorescent. It is bright.

Very happy with the purchase. I put it in the utility room which is small. The light is quite bright for the space. Looks great. The instructions on the box did not match with the actual wiring on the light but in fact was easier to connect because you just push the ceiling wires into a clip like apparatus instead of twisting the separate wires together and using wire covers.

Provides a lot of light and was a great replacement for an old unit that used T12 fluorescent lamps. The ballast on the old unit was getting wonky and was making brand new tubes flicker and not light up. Installation was easy, but I have a construction background.

Bug Trap

Purchased two and installed in my garage a few weeks ago. Light is good and they look good. However, the fixture is poorly designed because the ends are not sealed properly. Gaps exist which allow light to leak out, but more importantly allow quick and easy access to bugs to enter and die. The lens cover filled with numerous dead bugs within a matter of days. I live in central Texas and summer has not even started yet, but the quantity of dead bugs in the lens is what you what expect to see after a few years of use, not weeks. I do not recommend this fixture unless you live in a bug free environment.

Has been installed for 2 years double layer cover can be hard to clean between layers

This fixture was installed abt 2 years ago and it has worked great. Just took cover down to clean bugs out of it and learned that cover has two layers, and in between the layers I have many tiny dead gnats flies. Was able to get water between layers by turning upside down and flooding underside, then tipping on end to flush them out, took several tries. Flushed most out. House has no AC so windows are open in summer. These gnats can get through window screens. Not impressed with the design. Can I buy a new cover what is the part number that fits LFL4LP8XX fixtures, cant find it anywhere. I'm thinking the cover won't last as long as the LEDs will.

This fixture was about as easy (moderately easy) to install as the 2x40W fluorescent fixture that it replaced, and - even though it's rated at 4000 lumens, while 2x40W fluorescent tubes should put out about 5000 lumens - it was just as bright as the fluorescent fixture (without its old, yellowed "cloud" cover, which had broken apart over the years; that's what prompted me to buy this fixture). Also, it lights up with no delay (the old fluorescent fixture was slow to light up, especially when the humidity was high - sometimes it wouldn't light up at all until it dried itself out).

These worked well for our situation. Our garage had two naked CFL bulbs screwed into cheap sockets on the ceiling 10' up. If we broke one, we'd have a safety hazard, and they didn't light up a 2-car garage well at all. Since the garage doors don't have windows, we would have preferred 4 fixtures, but that required the electrician to bring in more wiring. Two of these 41-watt LED units so far are providing sufficient lighting. It's a nice white light, not bluish. The electrician said they installed with no issues. He also said they may be slow to light up when it gets very cold this winter. Was a great purchase.

Fantastic light. Easy install in a MBR walk-in closet. Does a great job lighting up the closet and my wife loves the additional brightness, which allows her to see the colors in the clothes better than before with the older fluorescent fixture. I'm loving that I won't have to be replacing the bulbs all of the time as the ceiling in the closet is quite high. I looked at buying a new ballast since the bulbs seemed to burn out regularly. It was half the price of the new fixture, so I went with the LED. Glad I did.

Wow what a difference! I bought one of these lights as the old flourescent fixture needed to be replaced and it was decided to go LED. The fixture was installed without any problems and I have tons of light now in a very small room that needs a lot of light (a bathroom). It was delivered on time as scheduled and Home Depot even called me on the phone to make sure I'd received it. I'll never have to worry about messing around with the particular light fixture again being it is LED lights and wowza, lots of 'em! Thank you for an excellent deal Home Depot! Highly recommend!

I was hesitant in purchasing this light fixture at first but from the reviews I went ahead and bought it. I am so glad that I bought this unit. It is just as bright as the florescent light fixture, if not even brighter. With 60,000 hours of use this should last many years for me. Again I would recommend this to anyone. One other note. This unit replaces the florescent light fixture and fits just fine where the old unit was located. And best of all no touch-up painting need. The new unit covered any imperfections and all looks good.

We put two of these LED light fixtures in our parents kitchen this past summer. They were easy to install and look great. They're designed with the same profile as older style 4' fluorescent fixtures, but with a really nice, clean updated look. Tons of beautiful, clean, bright light that is great for our parents, who are both in their early 80's. This was a great purchase and we're extremely satisfied. I would definitely recommend this fixture to anyone looking to upgrade their old fluorescent overhead lights to a newer, more efficient LED fixture.

Easy to install and a bright light

I installed this in my garage replacing a single incandescent light fixture. This is a great light. It is easy to install over the fixture box. I screwed it into to some ceiling joists. I had to drill a hole in the back of the fixture to access a couple joist. The drill went through the metal with ease. The wiring is quick since it has a quick connect for the wiring. The quick connect works with 14 Gage wires. If you have 12 Gage, then you may need to cut off the quick connects and use a wire nut. You can insert up to 2 black and 2 white wires in the quick connect. There is a button you have to push in order to insert the wires. When I turned on the light is is a very bright white light that is great in the garage. The directions could be a littler clearer regarding how to use the quick connects. GREAT LIGHT.

Used as replacement for fluorescent

I have ordered 20+ of these lights (in two sets) over the last two years or so. The lights that arrived undamaged were and are great. However, I have had a significant number that have arrived with the diffuser broken in several places, or the wiring connections on the LED strips separated (permanently). Both of these issues could be solved by better packaging. These lights were purchased and then stored for several months to await proper installation location (had to spend money quickly), so I didn't realize the parts were damaged until it was too late to return. My fault on that. But the packaging could really use some beefing up, especially on the ends where the diffuser meets the rest of the light (and where the wires are connected to the LED strips). Good lights when they work, but you can't be assured of the quality until you open each individual item - not good when you are ordering online and not picking through them at the store.

Work well overall but have a 1-2 second delay when turning them on. Nice light color and bright.

I bought 2 of these to light up a basement laundry room area with low ceilings and they work great once installed with one minor problem. As noted in other reviews, they take 1 to 2 seconds to power on once the switch has been flipped - pretty annoying as you have to keep reminding yourself NOT to turn the switch off and back on thinking there might be a problem. I overcame this shortcoming, in a sense by adding a different 3rd light fixture (simple ceramic base with screw in LED bulb) just over the entryway by the light switch (this area was slightly dark anyway) - this regular light fixture comes on immediately (as it should) when the switch is turned on while the two 4' Flushmount Ceiling lights I am reviewing here still take 1-2 seconds to fire up.

Great for Garage

I was thinking about buying the Big @$$ LED light but the price and reviews were average and for that price they shouldn't have been. I was going to do fluorescent lights but living in CO were temps can get crazy low (although my garage is insulated and heated) I wasn't willing to risk cold temp starts and or buzzing. I knew I wanted Lithonia and found these newer LED's. My garage is considered a small 2 car (18x18) so I got 4 of these just to be safe. I had a quality electrician come out to wire them up and install a conduit where the original solo light was for the garage so I could still use the light switch on the wall to control all 4 lights. He finished in a few hours and really liked the lights. They are incredibly bright and make no noise. I can finally work on my cars, motorcycles, and attempt to clean up the garage when the sun goes down. Having an electrician wire them up cost me $300-$400 if you are curious. Love the flush mount since I don't have high ceilings in the garage either. As long as they last a year or two I would be happy.

Pricey but the light is amazing. Started hearing a buzzing noise yesterday (after 2 weeks of installation)

First of, the positives: Fast startup, bright light, quite easy to install and pretty light weight. Looks are decent. I am using it in my kitchen and have it mounted on my ceiling.

Energy efficient high output lighting and extremely easy to troubleshoot & repair

Replaced a 35 year old 4-foot fluorescent ceiling fixture with this expensive LED light and I must admit this is my correct choice for upgrading. Fluorescent lighting technology though better than incandescent lighting has it's inherent flaw compared to LED lighting. Home Depot simply not only makes it easy, quasi-inexpensive but once you see the selection of lighting offered you simply can not pass it up. Easy to install simply because it is 1/4 the weight not having to balance a heavy fluorescent ballast not to mention the heavy gage metal of the old fixture. Immediate cost savings on electricity, no heat, no further fluorescent tube replacing, instantaneous light output especially during winter months, and a 50k hour life on the LEDs sealed the deal for me. What is especially nice is the fact should multiple LEDs burn out the light will continue to function simply because each LED is wired in parallel to each LED. I know I will get more than the 50k hours life out of this fixture as there is a abundance of aftermarket rolls of LED strip sold online. Did I mention this is Home Depot light fixture is super easy to troubleshoot and repair? Short of a no power up condition which indicates a blown power supply you literally get a "head's up" indication when each bank of LED strips should be replaced when multiple LEDs burn out on each side of this dual strip light fixture. This however will be years away because of the 50k advertised life of the fixture. I thought long and hard before purchasing this light fixture however all the pro's outweighed the negatives. When you are in the market for a replacement basement or shop light this is the fixture to purchase from Home Depot

Very Loose Covers

Ships to store arrived quickly and in good condition. Initial purpose was for garage installation and we bought four. After other reviews about the wire ends coming loose and after checking ours they arrived in great shape and all lights were working. After installing my first light I was very impressed with its brightness and mounting. But when I went to install the diffusional cover it was the one thing that decreased the great appearance to the light. I do not believe that I am installing the cover incorrectly as there only seems to be one way. The cover is sloppy and loose and with great ease will allow bugs and other insects to enter the centers of the light.
