Not a very ethical company

Company bolsters easy free returns. They intentionally delayed an issue past the return timeline of 30 days. Once we got through options I needed to return a portion of the order. Was told it was past 30 days so sorry. I now am suing them in court. I am confident the court will see through the scam, its just unfortunate when the site discusses how easy this issue should be

Home owner

Got the platinum 500, with the glass front, hoping for high BTU/heat, but was disappointed. Even with the regulator and everything adjust as high as possible it lots its heat after 5ft away. Not sure if the glass reduce the heat, as I saw the non glass 500 series at a store and it felt warmer further away. Looks great, easy install, just wish the heat carried further.

Platinum Electric Heaters

These heaters are so good and i can see why they call them platinum as they are the best. Great heat output and able to use patio all year round :)

bought two of these

Bought two of them one showed up damaged had to fight with them to get replacement glass. We are unable to get either of them to work correctly keeps shutting off I have paid an havoc contractor to install them and is costing a ton. We tried calling the tech support but they don't get back to you for days overall horrible Experience, Would expect a lot more for the money we paid for these

Durable and low profile

Ours is going on 6 years old. We moved and took our unit with us and had our builder install it in our new home. We have one unit. It keeps our back porch cozy down into the 30s degree range. You don't notice it in the summer. (Meaning it does not detract from the aesthetics of our porch.

These heaters look beautiful. Note- If you want to be VERY warm like a heater indoors, you will need to look at gas, or possibly multiple 6,000w heaters. These heaters are infrared, so it takes time to feel the warmth and have the infrared rays penetrate your clothing. They will provide enough additional warmth to feel comfortable outdoors in high 50's-60 degree whether, so long as you are patient for 5-10 minutes. Excellent customer service from BBQ Island- they answered all of our questions and were just wonderful all around.

Badly missing an on/off indicator

We just had these heaters installed in our covered patio. We're working with our builder to see if we can return them. They are controlled by remote but there's no indicator to let us know if they’re on or off. Last night I thought I had turned them off but an hour later I could still see them glowing in the dark. It seems like a basic miss in their design.

Very Cool Looking Heaters

These heaters cost more than any of the others in this wattage size but they are very nice looking when off or on. They don't look like the hot orange elements you typically see as they are covered in tinted glass. They put out a good amount of heat - but we haven't tried them on colder nights - say around 45 or 50 degrees. They come with mounting brackets for straight or tilted mounting. we mounted them under our screened in porch on the wall of the house facing the seating area. We control the units with Bromic remote controller box which allows you dim the heaters at various settings - see my write-up on the controller unit as it will save you some headaches.
