Fantastic Heater for Cold Evenings
Energy-efficient, and I have noticed my electric bill has not spiked. Highly recommend this for outdoor gatherings.
Reliable and Effective Outdoor Heater
Provides consistent warmth, even during windy nights, and the energy consumption is surprisingly low for such a powerful unit. Completely satisfied with its performance and reliability.
Great Addition to Our Backyard
It's also easy to control, and the energy use seems reasonable for how powerful it is.
Excellent for Year-Round Use
It's easy to install, works seamlessly, and keeps our space cozy without using too much energy, making it a worthwhile investment.
It’s Awesome!
We recently remodeled our home in Texas and installed this heater as a luxury for our deck. It has extended the time we can enjoy the deck during the winter and works great. I highly recommend it!
Fireplace Choice filled my order for two of these. They shipped one wrong and they shipped both late. When my electrician went to install them he found the error. After a lot of effort to get it fixed with Fireplace Choice, they promised me a date that the correct one would arrive. I had electricians scheduled to finish the install and what do you know it arrived late again. I paid electricians twice when they couldn't do the job due to Fireplace Choice. I love the heaters although I think they are overpriced, especially with the controller but they do work good. As far as purchasing, this was my worst Fireplace Choice experience.
This a great heater but not cheap. Overall it cost about $1000 for the heater and controller then another $1400 for an electrician to run 220 VT from my panel, about an 80 foot run. But the unit works great, the wireless controller works well with two settings. So for $2400 I can sit outside in the fog and stay warm!
I had it professionally installed and looks great and works rather well- I was hoping it would heat more but it’s adequate and allows you to sit in screen porch when it’s cold but still have to bundle up some -it does however keep you from getting very cold and allows us to enjoy being outside in cold weather so overall satisfied
Well, what would you expect from a 6000w heater? Two 3000w elements throw down quite a bit of infrared. I wouldn't expect to use these for more than maybe 10 feet max and in my outdoor gazebo this has worked well. It's wired to two 30A switches so I can control the elements individually. I also installed a 240v 40A contactor relay prior to the switches that is controlled a 110v countdown timer so the kids don't leave the heater on overnight - which they already had!! You could also wire in a wifi switch instead of the countdown timer to operate this remotely. BTW - this is a MUCH cheaper control approach instead of the the timer switches sold by heater dealers. The Bromic heater is very well made, really nice finish and looks cool. It gives off a pretty good glow at night when the lights are off, but nothing offensive in my opinion. If you're handy with electrical stuff this is a pretty easy install. The only thing I found annoying was the tiny box that houses the 4 hefty element wires (two 10ga stranded wires for each element). It is too small to put wire nuts on if you plan to operate the elements separately. An electrical buddy suggested screwing a handy box on top of the tiny Bromic box and doing the connections in there. Wiring is all 10ga on a 30a 240v breaker. I'd buy another one of these if the need ever arises.
These are simply wonderful, we have two mounted about 16 feet apart and 8 feet high. Their heat maps overlap perfectly and they keep the area warm on cold Seattle nights. Very very happy.
For the application I used it for (in 3 walled garage with open front) unless you put extensions on it, it does not put out enough heat for your whole body. It keeps your upper body warm but from breadt down not really. Go the next size up. In a enclosed space would probably be great. It does look good though. Easily installed of course I'm also an electrician so it made the wiring cheap and easy lol. Good product but wish I'd went up to the next level.
Much better than the Infratech Radiant Heaters we tried. Used for outdoors, these work.
Had a problem with the wiring going to heater. This was not a design problem but a supply chain error by one of the secondary suppliers. Contacted Bromic and was knocked down by the effort to correct the problem. The service was first rate. No product is perfect but when you have a issue and the manufacturer corrects promptly it means a whole lot. I would not buy from anyone else.
I bought the 6000 watts heater and it give a tremendous amount of heat. My patio which is 12x14 feet has a roof and closed on one side, if there is no high wind, this heater adequately warms up the entire patio.
Awesome heater. Plan to spend $1500 for installation but once in, it is exactly what you need.
Keeps our outdoor bar toasty!
We have had this installed for 3 months now and believe it is an excellent value. We live in Seattle and the weather is often damp and cool, so we needed a heter for our covered deck, which is 16' long by 12' wide. We had the unit professionally installed and it has worked flawlessly, every time, and we have used it dozens of times. The heat is gentle and persistent and maintenance free (so far). Excellent value for the money.
We just installed 2 of these 6000w units on our covered porch - see picture - (from Alfresco Heating) and love them!! The white looks great and looks better than any other infrared heater on the market. There wasn't a lot of information out there on residential hard-wired heaters, so my husband and I spent a lot of time comparing the brands out there. Bromic's system is the most technologically advanced, straightforward, best looking, and most economical (by far) when it's all said and done. As with all of these kinds of heaters, you need an electrician to install on a dedicated switch for each heater. But you have to be very careful to make sure you have all of the right parts for operation with all of the infrared heater systems out there. Most times, there are additional and expensive parts you must buy for operation- it was pretty confusing when we dug in. For instance, with Infratech, there is an expensive switch box you must buy in addition to the heaters (more expensive than the heater). We did buy the dimmers for these Bromic units because we were unsure what kind of heat they would give off and wanted control. The dimmers (that come with nice remotes) are about as expensive as the units themselves. If you didn't want to undertake the expense, I think you can put these heaters on an on/off switch without the cost of the dimmers. If that's something you're considering, Alfresco Heating would know, or you can call Bromic Heating directly. I found both sources to be incredibly helpful in walking me through exactly what we needed to operate these heaters. So far, during spring nights in DC, we've only had them on full blast the whole time, so just an on/off switch would have been fine. As it gets warmer though, we will probably appreciate the dimmer. It's like sitting in the warm sun - heavenly. I would say they give you at least another 10 degrees. I get cold easily, and I am toasty warm without a jacket as low as 60 degrees outside with these on. My husband can go in the 50's. Every guest we've had over is obsessed with these heaters - they really make a huge difference and make our outdoor space amazing!
Received the heaters as ***.one had a broken element so I had to return it but they shipped a new one promptly. I love these heaters. I bought two and put them over head in a pergola. We sit out most nights and I have to take off my sweatshirt because I am so warm. There have been some windy nights where I felt cold but it you have no wind, it's perfect. My kids never leave the patio now!
