The design requires inserting the metal screw bolt from the bottom side. However, the plastic washer does not hold the bolt in place when attaching the metal pole to the top side! The bolt fell out three times and required turning the heavy 66 lb. base over each time. It ultimately required a second person to accomplish this task. It seems sturdy but too soon to know how well the base secures my 9 ft. Umbrella in big winds.

Very nice, solid umbrella base. The vertical connector tube can be lengthened or shortened for use as a stand-alone holder or placed under a table.

SUPERIOR! One-of-a-kind for added weight and diameter so it’s more stable in wind. The weight, concrete, is *integral* to the base, so you’re not fussing about with having to fill it with water, sand or pebbles. It’s heavy to move, but I prefer NOT having wheels, as they’re just failure-points (and not attractive).

This has done a great job so far. A storm blew through my area the other day and this stand didn't move an inch... trees and power lines fell over in the storm, but not this umbrella/stand!. Obviously, the umbrella was closed, but I've had other stands blow over with the same umbrella closed.

Cracked in half

This base is heavy and wide, though decently strong winds still give it a wobble. I was happy with the purchase until it cracked in half during year 2. The base is near 2 inches thick of heavy, hard rubbery material, and I was shocked to find it cracked all the way through into two pieces. I guess 1.5 years is an ok investment, but for $100+ I am disappointed and should have gone for something else to last longer.

These umbrella bases have been amazing. They have held my umbrellas in place during strong winds, and they are solid and they look fantastic as well. I highly recommend.
