I was hesitant about buying this chandelier because it was more expensive than my budget allowed but it was worth it. It is beautiful and unique and is perfect for my great room with high ceilings. Love it!

unique design, poor quality

It's a beautiful design but that's it. It's my first time ever spending serious cash on a lighting fixture and I assumed that a fixture costing 6 times more than what home depot light fixtures costs would be spectacular quality but it was the complete opposite. First the stem/shaft was just simply hand painted/stained and it was flaking off already when i opened the box. Also any light brushing against the paint/stain would remove the finish. It was like they don't know how to paint on metal. They really should have powder coated it. I had to use a sharpie to cover it up the immperfections. 2nd the "wood blades" were made of metal and also up close the wood paint was not good quality either. 3rd, one of the blades hole did not line up in the center sphere , so i had to drill through the metal blade to make it work on one of the blades. 4th, it's very heavy and difficult to wire/install. I installed this in an 18 foot ceiling and had to rent a 2nd ladder just for another person to hold it while i wired it. 5th i don't feel very safe walking under it, it weighs about 50lbs and only two small decorative nuts hold it in place. the safety cable they provided did not hold it and just kept slipping out of the cable latch so i don't trust the cable is going to do anything if the nuts ever come off. After this experience i will probably always buy home depot/lowes lights that are 200-300 dollars since this $2000 light was worse quality. And to clarify this is no reflection against lightning new york, they were very nice on the phone and gave better price than other websites, i just would stay far away from Troy Lighting.
