My husband and bake bread readily, and this is an economical option to other brands.
It’s a beautiful proofing basket to make artisan looking breads. Well made. Took about a month to be delivered but it was summertime and I don’t bake artisanal breads in the summer.
I wish that it came with the liner, I have found a liner on another cooking website.

Looks better in person
The product looks even better in person, very sturdy and well-made.
Received as a wedding gift, staples are showing and wood is split and chipped all over. Would not recommend unfortunately
Incorrect website description
Descriptor on website says 9x9”. However the packaging of these baskets says 8x8”.
Poor quality
This item was defective upon arrival. It was splintered, thereby rendering it useless. I had a difficult time working with customer service, as it took weeks for them to respond.
Work as needed
Baskets have worked as intended. A few cracks but still get the job done!
Terrible quality
Arrived splintered. Sur La Table customer service has never responded by email. I've waited on hold in queue at least 15 minutes each call. Frustrated.

Best gift ever!
This basket was a gift for my stepdaughter who loves to bake bread. She said she uses it all the time and bakes cute little loaves of marvellous breads. Win-win I’d say.

Absolute must for homemade bread
I love this proofing basket!! You get a great loaf every time. The important thing to remember is, when you’re transferring the dough from the basket onto the pan, (before you put it in the oven), gently ease it out of the basket with your hand so it doesn’t go flat.
