Took 4 hours to assemble correctly with a little help from my wife. Some of the instructions were somewhat vague and caused assembly difficulty. Really unable to say if it will endure the winter weather because we've only had it for 1 summer month in TN. Purchased it to protect my plants from the hot sun. Working well for that. My plants do'nt look as parched and wilted. I like the fact that the canopy is movable and can be replaced when necessary.

We ordered this Pergola for our basement outdoor area. My husband spent over 7 hours trying to put it together. He had to keep taking 2 of the posts down and turn them around to get the top frame to connect to the posts. Well they never connected like the manual represented and the other 2 posts. The reason….. the holes were not drilled properly on the correct sides. Also the rails that hold the canopy couldn’t be installed. Reason being they were over a foot too short! What an absolute mess! Oh yeah…my husband asked me if the Pergola was new because he noticed that the box didn’t have the regular manufacturer’s tape but instead the box was sealed with cheap tape.

Pergola absolutely fab, just what I wanted and fab price! Had to wait for my friend to put up for me but everything there as it should be. Quite sturdy once up and fairly easy to do with couple of people. Looks fantastic up and can’t wait to use it when get some sun!😆

nice looking but ......

its not very sturdy i had to buy extra supports. it collects rain water...lots and lots of rain water. the drain holes don't even come close to draining it, it just sags in-between the holes and dumps it on you when you touch it. The instructions are pitiful...pictures only.

It looks nice visually but the parts continue to fall out. Even the hooks that’s screwed in. Not sure how it happens. Also it has to be almost completely took apart for the winter months. I thought that it was an all year around item. But for the money I guess it’s ok.

I was really happy with this purchase. I was wondering after reading the reviews, but I think mine looks really good. All the pieces were there. I put it together myself in about four hours. And a good chunk of that time was trying to figure out how to stand it up by myself, so if you had help it would be easy. The material is really light, so I'm a little worried. It will blow around if we have a storm. Since I have it on concrete I didn't anchor it. But it's exactly what I was looking for and a really great price!

In pictures it looks great. The problem is it lacks sturdiness and getting it assembled and all straight and square is extremely tedious. Once built it’s easy to get crooked by even bumping or leaning on it and seems like a small wind could crumble it over.

You get what you pay for..

If you are in a rental or short term housing situation, then this is perfect for you. While assembly went well quality of product and longevity is just okay/poor. I have had for a year and a half. Legs are quite warn, bent from the weather some. Cover is also torn in a few places. It served its purpose, but don't expect the shelf life to be long on this product.

First off, don’t expect this unit to cover a 10 x 10 area. The fabric cover itself only covers an area of 8 x 8 and the overall frame area at 10 x 10 with the decorative plastic extension caps on the ends of the rails. As other reviewers have stated, the support post are very thin and dent very easily. 4 of the sections on mine were dented when I opened the box. Manufacture sent me replacements. Once set up, looks pretty good. The online YouTube video is better at explaining how it goes together than the instructions.

IDON'T buy it. Very weak material. Hard to assemble. The legs are not sturdy enough. After a month On the first rain it tumbled down. Unrepairable!! I called overstock for a refund, but that asked me to call the company. I was back and forth between the company and overstock and either could help me. The company wanted to send me a replacement, but why would I want the same thing knowing it will cost me money to pay someone to assemble it for me just so I can have it for a short time

LEARY IF IT STAYS TOGETHER FOR ONE SEASON .

I ordered it early spring and just put it up with my partner , we are both in our eighties. Checked that all parts were there , read all directions which were easy to follow . You MUST make sure all screw openings face correct direction. The part I had difficulty with was FINDING how to connect middle rod that went thru canvas to top cross bar that allow as for movement across top after left and right sides also connected. DIRECTIONS NEED TO BE CLEAR TO LOOK FOR OPENING IN SEAM IN CENTER OF CANVAS SO CONNECTION CAN BE MADE. Also screws designated to connect upper main frame not long enough that it feels strong connection at joints. I would also suggest that 8” pull tab used to open and close top be made long enough to secure top when opened or closed so wind doesn’t move it. I’ve had a lot of previous experience putting outdoor furniture and canopies in past.

It was a nice pergola but got wrong parts put in box had to wait for them to send another one and get parts out of it for mine. Then had to call them to pick that one up and return it. But they did pick it up sooner then she told me that was good. I like my pergola alot we left the cover off of it because we were hanging things on it that would mess the pulling of it over for shade but do not really use it to eat more or less just for pretty effect. I liked that there was no shipping because other places were going to charge me $100.00 to deliver it. First time I had ordered off of Overstock but to be fair I do not have good luck buying stuff on the internet.

Slow & Steady Wins This Race!

I read all of the reviews and got a sale price. The package arrived quickly and I started methodically putting it all together. It took me 4 hours, with intermittent help from snagged family members, to put it together. The pieces, as this is aluminum, ding really easily, but I knew that from the other reviews. A pair of pliers righted any wrongs on the end pieces. It is now up and has elevated my garden, which is where I choose to use it as the California sun is baking my pumpkins even before I can get them into a pie! Take your time, count all your pieces first as it will stave off later insanity, turn on some inspirational music and be sure to have at least 3 people available for you to call on. It's worth it. I may actually buy another one!

Good value and standing strong

Definitely a good pergola for the money. So long as you follow the instructions closely, this goes together quite easily (I did reverse a couple of pieces early in the process when I just assumed where something went). Still a solid purchase, it covers my seating area perfectly, and a good value as opposed to spending thousands to build something similar for shade cover.If you are not going to bolt this down (I don't want to screw into my deck boards), then try placing the legs in flower pots and filling them with stones. This will keep it in place unless you are living in a hurricane prone area. It was fairly windy here last week, and it didn't move even without any weights.

serves a purpose but I am sure the plastic end caps won't last in the SoCalif sun/heat. Have a dented base post like one of the other reviewers. We are going to drill it into the concrete; too much wind. Instructions where TERRIBLE (I believe others have said the same) Pay close attention to the vague differences in the minimal pictures. The direction of the holes are important and it doesn't become apparent until you have put something together. So be patient and have friendly helpers.

The first rain and there were drips of water all over the inside of the canopy and furniture was sopping wet. I bought water repellent to spray the canopy. The canopy was missing a grommet in one of the rain drains. The rain drains are useless as water pools in the the canopy bays and you need to dump it out, which means a flood of water pours out the drains and sides of the canopy. On a 10x10 canopy the rain drains reduce the rain shelter significantly. The elastic cords are another weak point and do not seem like they will survive a year of sun and weather. The frame is nice and sturdy, as well as attractive. Once you finally get this installed and find the weaknesses I've mentioned, there is no way you will be willing to dismantle it to return it.

Pagola

I am really happy with my purchase. It arrived swiftly as indicated, was well package and was easily constructed. It says it takes 3 persons to construct but i did most on my own very quickly. Once individual components are fixed together a second person is required to help support front and back whilst the roof parts are screwed on so it stands self supported..so really only needs a second person for 10 mins in reality. The pogola is ultra light and needs secured to the ground in some way incase of strong winds even weight on all 4 corners for a bit of security. Luv the grey powder coat. The roof curtain is easy to assemble also and very usable..lovely garden feature . This product is very focussed on ease of construction for the buyer..excellent !
