Blew up

Leaked right away, then after a few minutes it just blew up. I will be returning this.

Seems to be of same quality as similar models but with a slightly lower price. Hopefully it will last as long as my previous hose reel.

Good Reel Replacement

This reel is great. It fits into the same holes in the outside wall that my old 10 year old Suncast reel was in. It accommodates a hose that's about 30 metres long.

Good looking, no leaking up to now (about 1 month), satisfy.

Excellent design

Does what it's supposed to. Excellent design but only time will tell whether its plastic structure is sturdy enough to handle 100 feet of hose.

Leaks

Unit leaks if you do not release all the pressure on the hose. Does not hold 100' of 5/8 hose.

Issue is reel leaks from the center where the male of the wall unit connects to the reel. Not a lot but enough.

Leaks but does reel in hose

Reel was installed as instructed but with longer masonry screws. Water leaked from o-rings and no amount of tightening changed that. Still, it reeled in the hose and the "stream" of leaking water only falls on our hostas, so we're going to keep it. You truly get what you pay for. Sad.

Works great if you know how to operate it.

15+years later and I'm still using the same unit. It won't leak if, once a year, you slide the drum off and luabe the o-rings. The unit is made for the hose to be unwound and rewound straight out from the reel, pulling sideways will stress the clip holding the reel on the axle and possible cause it to work loose. I have to attribute the low ratings to operator error and lack of product knowledge.

This reel falls of the mount quite often when unreeling the hose.. then you have water spraying all over you when you try to shut it off. Just don't unreel the hose while under water pressure.. same for reeling it in. The little plastic lock lever is not very strong.. but I guess you get what you pay for, Not a very good product.

this is a terrible product -- it falls off the mounting shaft and reel and hose to the ground and then the water sprays all over you and the garage -- Do not turn turn the water on until you have spooled out the hose... do not do this while the hose is under pressure. or wear safety goggles.. dangerous. Yes the reel clip was fully locked ... wish I had never bought this thing..
