Just the right Height! Nice & sturdy??

Box arrived in two days (on time) and undamaged. In fact, the table was packed extremely well. The only parts you need to put together are the shelve portion at the end and the legs. I had issues with the construction. I wish the instructions did a better job of letting me know which side was front vs back and which side the shelve portion should be attached too. The instructions were NOT clear. I put the legs and shelve on the wrong ends. When I figured it out, I had to take it all apart to put it together correctly. Once I put it together, the table is stunning. Size and construction feel VERY solid. It doesn’t feel like this table’s cost is under $200. To me, it looks like solid wood. I use this as a island in my kitchen. I can’t wait to find counter height stools. Unlike other reviews, my table does not have a smell at all. It does have dents, small scratches. Based on how well the table was packed, these dents and scratches were caused before it was packed. In fact, the table has a noticeable scratch on the top, almost in the middle. It looks like something sharp scratches a layer of wood off. Small, but noticeable. It’s too small to return, considering I’d have to take the nearly 90lb table to a UPS store to return. The manufacturer should be more careful. Giving 4 starts for the un clear instructions and the small dents only.

Perfect for Our Space!

This set is sturdy, trendy, versatile. Kids do their homework (bookshelf on one end!) while after-school snacking, breakfast etc. AFW delivery was spot-on, on time, helpful delivery persons which was a bonus. Love the set and the whole experience. Saleswoman great to work with as well!

Nice!

It's a nice sturdy table. The height is perfect for what we were looking for. It fits great in our dining room. Although it's bigger than our previous table, it gives us more room. Not to hard to put together, took a little over an hour by myself. Over all its a great table.

I hope you like grey paint

The table and bar stools were sturdy and went together in an afternoon. This grey color WAS NOT my first choice... in fact, I'm not a fan at all. It's more reflective like a painted surface than weathered wood. I was disappointed with the color choices for this style of table but any port in a storm... right? One of the screws that holds the stabilizing bar on the bottom wouldn't bite into the wood-like-product that the member is made of. It stripped immediately. I had to get a larger and longer screw to make it stay together. All of the screw holes lined up properly which made assembly simple. My biggest gripe is the lack of color and style choices. We wanted the brown wood grain color but the shelf included a wine rack or the table included an ugly electrical connection on both sides. C'est la vie.

Not worth the price

Looks great!!! I hope you don't intend on actually using or cleaning the product. Within the first month of owning the table, which was never used to eat, the table splintered. Simply wiping the stretchers and sides I actually got splinters. It was not sanded down enough and chips of the wood pick off. Again, we don't even use it to eat so I can only imagine if you used to table.

Outstanding and very Impressed!

Rec'd all items and seems to be packed very well with extreme care. Also the craftsmanship is outstanding. Assembly was fairly easy but some areas in the instruction sheet was a challenge but got the assembly finished. Rec'd the table with 2 stools and 2 high back chairs/stools. All is well with features and size. Just recently moved and needed this table and stools for the size and is perfect for our needs wants and desires. Assembly and unpacking was done by one person (me) and in my 70's. Just take your time and lay everything out. Thanks!

Great dining set

I absolutely love my dining room table! I have a small area and everything I always had before this purchase was overwhelming for the room. I can’t believe how nice it looks! It was easy to put together and it is very well made. I get so many complaints, very happy.

Exceeded expectations

Perfect for my space. Packed well with no damage and arrived in two days ! Seems solid and was very easy to assemble. Love the look and color and the price was more than reasonable for the set. It’s rare that an online purchase ends up being better than you hope for but that is definitely the case with this set!

Perfect for us

Love this table! I was skeptical at first because some of the reviews I read started that the surface scratches easily. I went out and bought clear coat to use but never even had to apply it. I've set stuff on this table, slid things across it ands there's not a single scratch...I guess you could scratch it easily if that were the intent...but as far as just normal, regular use with dishes I have no complaints and am very pleased with this purchase. I plan to buy 2 more chairs and move the barstools to my actual bar in the near future.

Good for where life happens

Sturdy, even when my 5 yr old tried to climb up on it that once. Has handy shelving and of course looks great! The gents doing the delivery went above and beyond too, trying to get it up to my 2nd floor apartment wasn't easy considering the house is old and the stairs up are narrow as anything. They made it work. Very happy with it, and the accompanying chairs are comfortable too!

sturdy and beautiful

We absolutely love this dining room table. The table is very sturdy, fits perfectly in my small apartment dining spot and it looks beautiful as well. The shelving holds up pretty well, no worries of the shelves collapsing. I give it a 4 star instead of a 5 star because of the putting it together part. We had to have our own drill to create holes to put the screws in. The factory may have forgotten to drill all the holes that were supposed to be there for consumer to put it all together.

Love the quality of the

Love the quality of the chairs, it fits perfectly in our dining room too. We were able to get the table and two of the chairs same day. We had to wait for the stools to come in due to them being on back order. There was some confusion with the Lakewood location telling us they were in stock when they were still at Thornton. Had to wait a few extra days to actually pick them up but overall great experience. Warehouse guy at Lakewood was super great at communicating once he realized there was an issue

Love it but scratches VERY easily!

Love the style and functionality of this set! Unfortunately, it scratches SUPER easy and shows up as white marks. Investigating on how to repair it. Mind you, this is our second table - the first one came with a blob of glue on it, so they brought out another. While waiting for the new one, the first one developed scratches from my husband merely setting his keys on it and picking them up. Second time around, NO KEYS allowed! Sadly, the new one got scratched somehow. Hubby says he didn't do it.:( For the price of the set, should be more durable.

I want to love it

This one is tricky. I really want to love it. I do love the color, style, and size. I bought this with the two tall backed chairs and two bar stools. The seats are comfy, even for long sitting. My problem is the wood is super soft which means it will dent and scratch really easily; and the paint will chip off. The two tall back chair legs are also different heights so the chairs wobble. For the price that you are paying I expected a better quality. I do still really like it though so I will make the repairs until I can't anymore.

Stunning and great quality!

Absolutely love this table! I first looked at this table online then decided to make a trip to the store to look at it in person. I had noticed that the description of the table stated the color as gray but in some of the customer photos online the table did not look gray, more of a beige. The table is in fact a medium shade of gray. It is a wood table and washed over with a gray paint. The coating of paint appears very thick so I feel that it will withstand use over many years. The table and each individual chair is actually very heavy, significantly higher quality than my previous table from AFW. I had the table delivered and put together and they did a great job, no damage to the table or chairs whatsoever. It ordered the table on a Friday and it was delivered 3 days later. I was very pleased to see such a short delivery time.

Great Quality!

I absolutely love this table. I searched for weeks to find a table that I actually liked and found this, unfortunately it was out of stock for a while and I decided to wait for it to be a available again. It was well worth it. I liked that it was tall and I love the shelves on the side.

Target 5 stars-Ashley packaging and smells 2 stars

This review is not at all against Target; The price of the table was the cheapest I could find- the problems are with the construction and packaging of the table- I ordered the table and sent the first one back because of a main support area underneath the table was broken—had to return back to UPS for replacement. Was a hassle but I like the table so much decided to return. Got replacement and the outside of the box was torn and dented all over. Expected damages to the table but found none. Whoever packages this should definitely use sturdier boxes/cardboard and more interior styrofoam and better packaging so orders aren’t damaged. My second table has no damage but smells horrific. As other reviewers have stated it is seriously bad. I am in the process of moving so I have not put the table together and hope this smells vanishes by some miracle. I have been reading about formaldehyde being used in the process of furniture making and wonder if this is the smell. Most sites tell you charcoal filters and specific plants will help with the smell. But not sure if this will work. Others indicate an air purifier at the cost of around $500 to remove the smell. Will try to update this post after the table is put together and some time passes to provide some info on the strange smell from the table.

Awful chemical smell

I really wanted to love this. It's the perfect size and color that I was looking for. Unfortunately when it got delivered, it came with a nasty chemical odor. I called the store and they told me its off gassing and to give it a week. The odor smells like burnt rubber, and it did not get any less awful after a week. They said they would exchange it but I could not return. They exchanged it for the same one and that also had the same smell. Made my apartment smell awful and hard to breathe. Turned all my clothes smelling too. Do not buy this. I never had an issue with any furniture I ever bought before. Now I had to buy another table 400 dollars more than this cause I needed something right away in order for them to get this table out of my home. The fact that this was a defect, they should have just let me return it
