Poor quality do not buy

Used the oar for the first time on a duck hunt (painted them black) and first stroke it snapped.

Perfectly Packaged

The Oars came packaged really well and in perfect condition. They are made of good quality wood and fit with our 10' boat nicely.

It looks like what was described. Your price was higher than other sites, but you included shipping. So about the same.

The oars are not a standard diameter. I cannot find. oarlocks to fit them. I will have to make my own.

Not the best.

The oars were discolored under the finish, looks like they were weathered before the final finish was put on. I called customer service and got a whole 20% off. Big deal.

Inferior Made Oars!!!!

These oars are made of knotty pine and broke the first time we used them due to a knot in the wood. Regular rowing use broke first time out! Do not buy these inferior made items. Tried to return and they wanted them mailed back! Would not take back in the store !

Are these even wood?

Is this oar even made from wood? Broke on the first time out. Even the stickers on the blade were still intact. Looking at the place where the oar cracked in half, there didn't even seem to be a grain in the wood. Looked more like some kind of MDF.

Quality control is lacking on the oars. The grips were not installed correctly. The engineering on the oarlocks did not allow sufficient movement. They had to be adjusted.

Broke on second outing. This wood is weak.

Gave these a try in my small aluminum fishing boat and one of the oars broke on second outing. I’d recommend going with a stronger wood like ash.

Total Junk from day 1

Picked up oars and tried them out. Oars were light and would bend when used on my aluminum boat. The 3rd time out one oar splintered into pieces. I am very disappointed and would not recommend these.

Mismatched

They shipped two different sized oars. One was about 2'" longer than the other. The shorter one had a much shorter blade. Going to return them to the store.

New Zealand rowing oars

Soft pine with retangular unfinished oar blades with only a single coat of varnish. Blades require further shaping . Oar needed to be sanded ans revarnished. Poor imitation of a quality rowing oar.Stick to the mire expensive West Marine brand.

bendy

Wanna see something really funny? Buy a pair of these oars, put them on your boat, and then try rowing with them. You'll see that even under the lightest rowing pressure that they bend like a palm tree in the wind. Hilarious.

Row the dinghy

Good serviceable set of oars. They replace a set of Caviness oars that were stolen. The the design and quality seems most comparable.

Walmart Oars

Walmart on line was the least expensive avenue for me to get the oars I needed. I saved $30.00 to $50.00 , and they were delivered right to my house. These are a very good quality item.

Quality oar, perfect for 14' a jon boat.

I purchased these oars to replace a set of Feather Brand oars that were stolen from my boat. Honestly, I see no real difference between these oars and the Feather Brand oars. I am 60 years old and have been rowing both wooden and aluminum boats since I was about 10 years old. These Crooked Creek oars will work just fine. They are constructed well, finished well, and they are not overpriced. After adding oarlocks to the order, the order qualified for free shipping to my home via Fed Ex. It doesn't get any better than that. 100% satisfied w/ purchase!

SWEET

Got these to have for my jon boat cause my Johnson 15 1985 outboard likes to act up. but they look great no knots in the paddles like some said in other reviews. there real nice with nice blue grips on the end of handle. cant beat the price.

Decent quality but heavy ol' war-clubs.

For the price, I certainly was not expecting a set of Shaw and Tenney Adirondacks, but these are real war-clubs. Blades as received were almost 3/4" thick and terrible balance. The construction and materials quality are acceptable (for the price) and the grips are adequate. A little belt sander work to thin out the blades (3/8 edges) and oval the shafts improved the balance a lot and reduced the weight by several pounds.

excellent product for the price

One of my 8 foot oars came with a slight gap where parts were joined on the blade, but so far it is not causing a problem. Other than that an excellent product at about half the price of other oars.

Looked not so "oarish"

I returned them after getting them out of the box. One oar had a knot in it where the water would be. I didn't like that. The actual oar was also not very " efficient " looking. Meaning, it was what I believed real " kinda 2x6 ish." For the money they would have worked, I ended up with some Caviness oars, not miles better but they were made in the USA.
