Lampshade is Mica, perfect for Arts & Crafts Lamps

This lampshade should not be glass which one customer thinks it should be. It is Mica, which is a mineral and epoxy combination that most Arts & Crafts lampshades were made of to get the beautiful colorations. Research ‘How Mica Lampshades are Made’ and you will understand. Terrible hazardous packaging, disappointing lamp.

In the photos, the base appeared to be cast metal. The base is actually stamped sheet metal. Looks very cheap.

Bamboozled

The description of the shade mentions "glass". Even the paper-work that came with the floor-lamp mentions glass-like. But the shade panel inserts are a spun glass or plastic-like. It does look nice but for the price I was expecting real glass in the shade. Boooo.

DESCRIPTION OF PRODUCT COULD BE BETTER

LAMP SHADE WAS TOO DARK AND SHADE MATERIAL SEEMS TO BE PLASTIC NOT MICA, TRIED MULTIPLE WATTAGE BULBS BUT WAS STILL TOO DARK. LOOKED BLACK WHEN IT WAS OFF IN THE DAYLIGHT, BRONZE COLOR ON LAMP ITSELF WAS DARK BROWN. I HAVE SINCE BOUGHT A LIGHTER ACTUAL MICA SHADE FOR IT TO LIGHTEN IT UP WHEN ITS ON AND CHANGED THE POWER CORD COLOR WHICH WAS ALSO DARK BROWN TO CLEAR SO IT WOULD NOT BE SEEN SO MUCH WHEN PLUGGED INTO THE WALL. WOULD ONLY RECOMEND IF SOMEONE WAS LOOKING FOR A VERY DARK LAMP WITH PLASTIC MICA PANELS

It's a beautiful lamp

This is really gorgeous when turned on. It's very solid, and I'm hoping I won't have to buy shades for it for a long time. I love the colors - they look great in my living room. This should last many years. I love it!

Beautifully made lamp

This is beautiful, well made lamp. It's easy to assemble, is well-packed, and has a great switchgear for each of the two lamp sockets. It casts this warm, soft and glowing light. It has an elegant and simple design. It has the same height with other brand floor lamps - perfect for room ambience or chairside reading. It's highly recommended.

Shade Wasn't What I Expected

This lamp does not look like it should cost what it does. The shade looks weird and flimsy. I have other mica shades and this one doesn't even come close to looking like a mica shade. It looks fake.
