Never stops shedding and clogs Vacuum

Initially, I was excited to have this plush cozy rug; however, it never stopped shedding heavily even after over 6 months. My vacuum cleaner would have to be emptied before finishing an 8x10 area rug. I just disposed of it.

Soft rugs, high end look

I purchased two of these rugs 2 years apart - the 5'x8' size in 2021 and in the 2'3"x8' runner in 2023. The larger rug purchased first is softer and lays better than the runner purchased in more recently. I am hoping the second rug just needs more time to fluff up and flatten out. They are soft underfoot but they do need rug pads as there is no latex backing. The color is creamy ivory with a subtle gray trellis pattern.

I love this rug, it is gorgeous, but the smell, OMG. I waited to write this review because I thought it would go away, but no amount of baking soda and vinegar, Arm & Hammer carpet cleaner, professional odor removals we use we can’t get the smell of sheep that haven’t been cleaned. I understand that with wool rugs, some smell can be expected, but this is just awful. We thought we were finally able to remove the smell, but when it gets humid, we smell it again. If it wasn’t for this we would give 5 stars because the rug is absolutely beautiful. I would return it but by the time we unpacked it (as we were doing renovations) and used it, it was past the return window

This is such a beautiful rug and the colors are soft and inviting. The shag bordering each shape gives the rug a boho chic look. Easy to manage and dabbing a wet cloth easily cleans spots. It has a high pile so be careful if the rug will be near doors. All my friends who visit love this rug and a few have made the same purchase. Safavieh never disappoint with their rugs. I have several similar tones bought on Overstock and all of them are just gorgeous.

DO NOT BUY THIS RUG

I strongly advise against purchasing this rug due to its extremely poor quality. From the moment I acquired it, the threads began unraveling, and even after several months of ownership, they continue to do so. This ongoing issue with the threads has even had negative effects on my health, as it has triggered a persistent cough. Furthermore, the deteriorating air quality in my apartment caused by the threads coming off is simply horrendous. Please exercise caution and reconsider buying this item.

Totally disappointed in the color and markings

Two stars for receiving early and the weight of the rug is heavier than expected. The color is misleading online. While the rug is "decent" the color is more blue than grey and a lot more faded than expected. I expected more of a greyer rug to go with my color scheme. The rug also looks used, dull, and I'm sure will show dirt. Would have returned it but the return shipping is not worth it. Definitely would not recommend.

Fluffy Wool Rug

It is just as pictured but I would not call the color "rust". It is very muted tan to dark beige. It sheds but that is certainly to be expected with the material.You will need a carpet pad as it slides all over. It is very soft and you can easily vacuum by using an extension hose to clean and fluff it back up. The tassels do need to be smoothed and straightened out but they are really a nice touch.

Would recommend

This rug is great! I was worried about the shedding based on other reviews, so I took it outside to shake it out first and there was really no need. No major shedding, no smell, feels and looks great! I was also worried about it clogging my vacuum, but no issue so far. Would buy again.

Not for traffic areas and sheds

This was a beautiful rug! I also bought the runner for my hallway. What is not so beautiful is the shedding produces. My house is filled with fiber dust balls from the rug and runner. It still sheds after 6 months of having it. I need to vacuum around it every day. Vacuuming the rug itself does not help. The fibers fill my vacuum completely, every time. Now it looks like an old worn down rug in the areas where we do step (in front of recliners). It looks gross. I am so disappointed. I paid alot of money for these pieces.

Beautiful rug, sheds badly!

Ordered this rug in the beige color--it is a little bit more yellow-toned in real life than what my computer screen shows, but it's very nice looking in person. The rug is plush and is nice to walk on. The mix of grays and taupes in the rug means it matches well with the rest of my decor, and should hopefully hide dirt/stains better than an all beige rug. My one complaint is that this rug SHEDS badly. I've vacuumed it twice and each time have to empty the bag at least twice. The fuzzies will stick to your socks, there are now fuzzy dust bunnies all over the floor, and forget about sitting on the rug if you're wearing dark colored clothing.

I was also using blue/teal as my accent color. This rug fit the bill. There are several shades of blue so it blends with true blues and blues that are more teal. The description says the brown is gold but it's a nice medium brown that matches the recliner exactly. Second, the feel of the rug is great. It's soft but feels sturdy. I love the high/low. It vacuums up very nicely. There was no smell when it was unwrapped. After about 24 hrs on the floor, it lay down flat. The pattern isn't symetrical so I can turn the rug different ways and get more brown or blue showing depending on where my coffee table sits. It's a very different style than I've had before and I like it. It also was delivered a day before the delivery date. Would definitely recommend.
