Cup Self-Watering Planter
I purchased the cup planter because I liked the design and I was interested in a tall self-watering planter. Great shopping experience.
be cautious of what color pot you are actually ordering -
Wonderful!
These are sturdy but beautiful planters. You can fill them with water and forget watering your plants for about a week! It’s nice to enjoy new buds and blossoms with just the right amount of water. No root rot or underwatering anymore for me!
Love my Crescent Garden self watering pots. My plants look so much more healthy because they are getting watered from below and not above. Roots get big and strong, and I do not have to water them near as often if I fill my reservoir all the way. I still water them from the top when I first plant them until they take root, three weeks or so, then they only get it from the reservoir after that. These pots have saved us on paying someone to come in and water plants while we are on vacation. They can go at least a couple of weeks for us before needing to fill the pot back up.
That’s some damm expensive plastic!
GroPro pots are a million times better all the way around and they cost a fraction of this hot mess.
Plant is dying.
I set up my self-watering pot as instructed. The water level still shows full after several weeks but my plant is dying and, when I touched the soil, it was dry. I have a photo.
The gauge that tells you how much water is in the planter doesn’t work on one of the two Dot planters, and isn’t the type of gauge shown in ad.
Love this Flower Pot. Second One I have ordered, living in Yuma,Az works great on saving Water.
High quality.
This pot was absolutely amazing. I just wish it didn’t look like brail was written on the sides. We used this at our vacation home. We are two weeks in and out so I just needed to top off the pot before we left and it was good until we returned two weeks later. As the plants got bigger it would dry out faster because more roots to drink the water, but by that time it was the end of the season. It may be expensive but we didn’t have to pay anyone to come in and water our plants!
Changed my summer completely! I can safely water once a week no matter what the weather. Keep an eye on shallow root plants. they will still require top watering.
Excellent Experience - Very Quick...
The shopping experience for these planters was amazing. Very easy to navigate through website to fund what I needed plus I received them within a few days.I wanted self-watering planters to replace traditional planters during the severe drought we're experiencing, and the difference is night and day. My plants are finally thriving!
16 inch dot self watering planter
My gardenia plant is thriving and growing after 3 months in pot. I actually have not had to add any water yet due to some rather heavy rainstorms. I am going to get the next size up to have for next spring's new plant...whatever that might be :)
Haven't dug up the plant yet to move to mountain climate indoors so I don't know if it will work.
I love this planter. My plants look fantastic. It’s been over 100 degrees here for over a month, and the plants in this planter don’t seem to care.
Be aware if you don't like it.
I bought the 20" medium pot and was very surprised when I opened the box. It isn't as modern and clean looking as featured in the photos. The worst part is that I really can't return it because it is oversized. The slowest shipping via UPS was $45 and the slowest shipping vis USPS was actually higher at $52. I really feel like Gardeners should do a better job of letting customers know that returning their items will be a financial burden.
It’s too soon to know how my plants will grow. It is much larger then I thought it would be but, it will be fine. I put two large plants and four smaller ones in. It took a lot of water. I think it will be fine.
Amazing Self watering planter!!!
This self watering planter is so amazing. I don't understand how I have lived without it. I have this self watering planter in my backyard we're the sun is always beaming, and i always get lazy to get out their and water my plants. Now having this planter saves my time and my plants from dying. My beautiful plants always look beautiful and Luscious green.
Inconsistent quality, but when they work, AMAZING!
Purchased two of the 20 in in black for my front steps. Planted late spring/early summer. As others have said, some quality and consistency issues for me as well. One of my fill gauges doesn't work unless I bang my fist on the side where it is. I will try and fix it when the planter is empty in the winter, but to note that TruDrop does offer replacement items on their website so may do that. However, my other one works fine, so I just tend to gauge my water level for both off that. For someone who has a huge property but is prohibited from permanent irrigation by city bylaws, these are a godsend! Plants are thriving.I would like to see improvement in the quality, and I would love GS to stock the modern, square versions of these as the dots pattern is not my fav (though not noticeable from after.) I'd actually love to see this entire line, I love the gauge aspect of these vs other self-watering brands. Overall, I'd recommend, but if you have the patience, definitely plan to do a test fill with water before using to check everything is in order! And read the directions about unplugging the overflow valve! I think some negative reviews with "leaks" may have missed this - mine emits from the overflow when full as well, but as intended! Less
The pots are nice and light. They will be easy to plant in and easy to clean.
