Not easy, but worth it.

Happy with our carport, though it took much longer to put up than we anticipated. The frame came together quickly, but attaching the metal roofing was another story. We tried to align the drill holes while overlapping the roof plates, but never seemed to be able to square a row even though the frame was perfectly measured and squared, so we started over and stop worrying about hole alignment and drilled right through to make new holes. Suggestions: add some descriptive words to the instructions, the pictures aren't enough. Enclose a few extra screws, we were actually shorted by a dozen.

Shelterlogic claims of snow and wind load are lies

I purchased a Shelterlogic carport only to find out my city requires a permit (yes, even for temporary structures) for anything larger than 10x12. So the city wants structural "engineered drawings" to prove the structure can handle the wind and snow loads claimed. Shelterlogic told me they do not provide them, even though their engineer figured out the loads. In other words, the claimed loads are fiction. They can't or won't back them up. They may as well say that an elephant can stand on top. Who's going to prove them wrong? Don't buy one of these until you check with your local building department and then find a carport that can actually back up their claims with engineer certified calculations/drawings.

not enough roof for length

.I ordered the 20 ft long carport and it could not be put together at 20 ft The roof pieces would only reach 18ft . They give you a two foot length to lenghen the frame but when you put it together they don't give you a longer piece of roof so you can reach the extra two feet. Feel like I got cheated, there was no phone number to contact the company in the instructions so we had to put it together at 18 feet My husband has a 67 Impala and it is 17 feet long so it just fits under the carport

Much better than my old costco shelter

Im very happy with my 12x24 carport. It was about as expected to put it together. I predrilled for all screws and think it was worth it. I didnt pay close enough attention to measuring the bottom connections. I thought just put pieces tight and they will be right. Close but not exact. My carport is on concrete slab and sits on P.T. 2x4 which is anchored to the slab; that made it easy to screw bottom rail to 2x4.

Leaks like a sieve

I purchased this shed in hopes of protecting a boat from the rain with something more durable than the canvas shelterlogic carports (the canvas only seems to last for 1 or 2 years before the sun makes them weak and they tear)

[Rewarded Review] Sturdy Carport with Quality Parts

This kit contains all the quality parts needed to make a very sturdy carport. It can be assembled with ease by 2 people following the instructions. Just note the actual measurements of the finished product, especially if you purchase the enclosure kit. The actual exterior length measurement of the carport is 19' 9" and with the enclosure added the actual interior length measurement is reduced to only 18' 1'. We purchased this carport and enclosure for winter boat storage. Our boat on it's trailer is about 21' long, which if slightly angled would fit easily in a 20' x 12' enclosure. Unfortunately the smaller 18' 1" length of the enclosure was a bit too short requiring us to make an adaptation to the enclosure to adequately shelter our boat.

The first carport was delivered to my local Home Depot with some damage from shipping. The store contacted me and immediately ordered in a replacement. The new carport arrived just a few days later. I was able to put my 12X24 unit together by myself over the course of two days. There were a few times that an extra set of hands would have been welcome. Everything went together real well. Make sure you have everything square before you start. The end result is very sturdy. I live in Northern Michigan in the snow belt so I know I will need to be vigilant with the snow load, but have no worries that this unit will hold up to normal daily snow loads.

Arrow Carport 12x24x09 Charcoal BKP

I purchased the 12x24x9 carport and put it up over the weekend at my farm. I am using it to cover my travel trailer over the fall/winter seasons. Overall, I was pretty happy with the design and was able to completely assemble the carport by myself. It would have been easier and faster to have another person assist. I anchored it to the ground using the anchors supplied with the ground. I found the roof panels to be of good quality along with the framing. There were two things that I have to mention that I feel would have made the project and assembly go a little smoother. The first would be the instructions. They do not include any sort of narrative actually describing the process, only pictures spread out on the page, if you do not study the pages fully, you could miss out on a detail or two that are important. The second thing that I encountered was the self-tapping screws included with the kit are not near as good as the ones you can buy at your local hardware store. They take a lot more work to get into the metal framing and are prone to strip out. This added a lot of time to the project and really comes into play when putting the metal panels on the roof where you are reaching and have less leverage to work with. You can pre-drill to make the screws go in easier, but that just adds more time to the project. I would definitely buy another one of these kits if needed, but I would use different screws in the assembly if I were to do it again.

Great buy! It’s very sturdy and not too difficult to put together. The instructions it comes with is for a 15ft long carport, but if you look at the picture on the website there are 5 leg posts on each side (instead of 4 on the instructions), so just use the extra box of materials the build it longer. That was the only confusion in the initial building process. This thing is tough and will withstand all weather and provide shadeprotection for everything underneath it. I’m using it at the side of my house to store extra patio furniture. Highly recommend.

# Sweeps Be ready to improvise.

The overall building is nice but there were concerns while assembling it. The self tapping screws are extremely easy to strip and very hard to get started. For my own peace of mind I drilled and used 1/4-20 bolts with washers and nyloc nuts on one hole of each side of a joint. Be prepared to drill every hole with a smaller bit while putting on the panels because it's very difficult to put pressure on the drill to get the screws started while standing on a ladder or even walk boards like I used. The putty like strip to seal the joints leaves much to be desired and is hard to work with. If you finish with no leaks consider yourself very lucky or very good. If you do have a leak it's not easy to get to the top to caulk or whatever you choose to fix it. Make very sure the base you build the frame on is completely level and squared.

Good Product

Put together in one day by myself. Used Wet-R-Dri roof sealant with the roof panels due to previous reviews about leaking. Raining today, no leaks. Instructions were adequate. Watched supporting video prior to ensure measure points prior to beginning. Installed enclosure kit as well. Enclosure kit instructions were easy to follow and installation went flawlessly. Due to hard rocky soil, I used steel rebar pins rather than supplied tie downs to secure the unit to the ground. Very happy with product at this point.

Size

I like the carport, it wasn't that hard to put together and it's solid, it was the perfect size to park my Corolla. The problems is that I also bought the enclosure, and from every sites that I looked at, it all said 10 x 15, even the box in came in said 10 x 15. I thought the kit came with some extention, but it didn't. So now I'm left with a 10 x 13.5 carport that my Corolla doesn't fit in! Very disapointed! You should tell your customers the true size of the enclosure because if I knew, I wouldn't have bought it.

Nice product and not difficult to put together. It is time consuming. Instructions are not the best as it is mostly pictures with no real description other than to confer with pictures. Certainly not a step by step instruction manual that describes each step in some detail. Product should also be put together on level ground. Packaging for extended version was not labeled but all the pieces were shipped.

Nothing but rust…only 6 months old

Please don’t waste your money. My carport is less than 6 months old. Almost every panel is rusted on the inside and out. In less than 2 years the majority of this structure will be rusted through. Do not buy! The warranty on this product is a complete joke. They do not pay for labor to take apart or put back together. They are in the process of sending “replacement “ panels but I was recently in an accident and will not be able to rebuild for a while. I just keep my boat underneath and right now I have to keep a tarp on it so I don’t get rust stains all over. In my opinion the company should reimburse me what I paid for it or send someone out to paint it. That’s not going to happen.

Worthwhile investment

Nice solid construction. Relatively easy to assemble. Kit should include cross bracing to reduce side movement of structure. Added angle iron at back of structure, top of one side to bottom of the other side. Significant reduction in side movement. Can be removed easily if access is needed. Lenghtwise, movement is minimized by top side panels.

Great kit for what it is. We are using it for hay wagon storage. Lots of screws for the roof panels but that's because the panels are short, have to be able to ship standard delivery. Shipment was a few days late and boxes were very beat up. All parts were there with a few scratches on frame and roof panels. Went together very well with 2 people and a impact screw gun. If your in need of a tall long shelter this is the one. Best all around I could find for the price.

The Arrow Steel Carport is building in kit form made up of smaller pieces that fit in a box bolted together. Mine came with 35 roof panels. A professional building would have many less pieces and less chance of leaks because of it. This kit can’t help itself; it leaks. Not bad, but it does.

Arrow Carports have a ridiculous roof design

Any builder knows that metal roofing is designed to be installed with the ridges running up and down the roof. It is beyond me how Arrow designers think it is a good idea to have them installed with the ridges horizontal inviting pools of water to form in the valleys including where the joints are. Yes, some butyl tape was included to apply to the joints, but especially at the points where 4 panels meet, this becomes a precision exercise doomed to fail with wear even if executed to perfection. Metal roofing is an excellent product when installed correctly. When laid the wrong way, leaks are guaranteed. I am very upset with this purchase overall, which is unfortunate, because the frame is of good quality and the roof easily could have been also.

easy to set up great protection

Set this up to protect a car that doesn't have its own garage space. Did the setup over 2 days, one day is easily dooable though. It was hot so only worked in the morning. Frame setup is easy. Help needed to get the first uprigh in place after that I managed to set the rest easily (6.6" and over 200# so not your average size). Two people would be even easier. You will want a nut driver or electric screwdriver to set the screws or it will take a long time to assemble. Setting the ridgecap metal is super important. If it is off square it will flow to the other end magnified. So take your time setting it square. The sealing tape is super sticky so be carefull as you lay the overlaping pieces. I left the last screw at the bottom slightly loose until I had the other peices in place (the cornors have a 4 panle overlap. Once all is in place tighten. So, after the heat, we had 2 days of rain. The shelter worked well, no leaks except for a spot I missed tightning, 2nd to the last piece of metal so I was likley getting tired and simply missed it. Should keep all the fir needles and other fir stuff and rain at bay. I had some concerns with shipping and possibly a part. Shelter Logic was great. They worked dilignelty with me to see what the shipper was dooing (or not doing) and requested I contact them (shelterlogic) daily till resolved, they reached out regularly too. Their person, Kim, was great to work with and concerned that I get what I needed to make this work as I neeeded. Kim went above and beyond and was wounderful to work with. I would recomend anyone calling them for advice or to buy call her. I give Shelter Logic an A+ for my Arrow Carport.
