Price amazing but it has low quality.

I thought this would be great to have. I have my family documents and other important things in it. But, my drawers bends when I push in. Drawers get stuck if you have a lot of stuff in it. It also scratch my wood floors up.

This is a serviceable cabinet that we keep near the door for dog suppies: leashes and harnesses, raincoats and fleece coats and, of course, rolls of poo bags. We wished the packers had protected the sides better and not just the tops and bottoms of them: there were scrapes and dents that went through the cardboard directly onto the cabinet, without a second protective layer of packaging. If the packaging and handling had been better, we would have assigned 5 stars.

Not black, small dents, drawers don't slide well

I would not spend this much money on this file cabinet. It’s not black. Looks more charcoal grey. It’s very lightweight and doesn’t feel that sturdy. Small dents around the back were it meets the drawer. Also scratch on the front top drawer as well. All 3 drawers don’t slide very well. They work but maybe they’ll slide better the more they get used.

Poor design and questionable pricing

1) The drawer pulls should be at the top of the drawers NOT the bottom. The bottom drawer pull is only 3” from the floor. It should be near the top of the drawer at about 10.5” from the floor.

Incorrect info on website/wrong items shipped

The product was first ordered as two filing cabinets and came as a big screen TVs. I ordered another one and realized when it arrived although I chose black it came in charcoal. I spent over an hour trying to chat with someone (our chat kept timing out) Yorkton store staff were excellent by the way. I just want three small BLACK 18 inch metal filing cabinets , not charcoal or white with 1small & 2 regular file drawers.

Malfunctioning

Bought at Walmart. Took out of box, attached handles. Added files seem to work ok. But then realized that the second and top drawers were not opening. Found the top drawer on right side about a half inch gap. The drawer is off the track on one side. I tried to remove the drawer but couldn’t. So taking it back and getting another one. If it works it will be very handy and useful. Seems like a great price.

well built, holds a lot, priced right & looks good

perfect for my use. also purchased a desk here on Overstock and the filing cabinet fits perfectly under the desk and off to one side. looks like it's part of the desk. the filing cabinet first strikes you as maybe a little flimsy, but it's well built, sturdy and because it is made out of thinner sheet metal it is also light enough to move around easily even when full of files and stuff. the built in file folder rails are nice addition, as is the security lock.

Recommended for Light Home Use

Item was just as described. Attractive. Light weight. Good for home file storage use. Rapid delivery with no scratches or damages. Easy assembly of drawer handles. Excellent price. Be aware, as described, that the drawers do not fully extend and cannot be removed. The smaller top drawer is handy, but best utilized with an aftermarket pencil tray.

You get what you pay for

The cabinet arrived pretty beat up. It is a thinner metal, so didn't take much for it to bend. I managed to straighten out most of it (sides and front of drawers). I would say that 'you get what you pay for', so I was willing to just keep it and make the most of it. The key was not included, but I don't intend to lock it, so can deal with that issue as well. I can't quite figure out how to remove the drawers, so made it a little tricky to fix things. If you need to store anything a little heavy, I'd go for something more sturdy.

Great looking cabinet, suitable for light use.

This is certainly a very smart looking cabinet; it arrived quickly and in perfect condition. It will be used in my home office which has very little traffic and I'm sure it will work just fine - it's well made and the drawers open smoothly. However I would not recommend it for a high traffic, busy office environment - it does not seem strong enough for that. Also I would have liked to see some kind of plastic insert for the top drawer that holds the pencils etc. It's just bare metal. Other than that though it looks good and does exactly what I need it to do.

I ordered two of these file cabinets to fit under my wide desk. The quality is very nice. I really like how quietly and smoothly the drawers slide. The handles have a nice substantial feeling (not cheap). Note that you need to install/attach the handles yourself, but they came with screws, so easy to do. Overall a very nice upgrade from my old beat up file cabinet. The color is a true charcoal grey (not black), which is what I wanted. The top drawer is an added bonus to keep my desk clear-it fits pens, a stapler, pads of paper, miscellaneous cords. These were exactly the size I wanted to fit the space I had, but be sure to check the dimensions before ordering. They aren't as deep as my old file cabinet, so they don't hold as many files. This is not a complaint, just something to note. I would highly recommend this product based on quality and price.

Very basic file cabinet (poor quality)

Will hopefully support standard sized hanging file folders. This is a very cheaply made file cabinet. I expected better quality because I could have purchased a cheap one like this for half the price from Walmart or Target. I wish I would have cancelled the order because it just isn't worth sending this back after paying for shipping. If you want a sturdy quality one, do not buy this!

Fairly Fine File Cabinet for normal use

It just arrived. We've not yet even got it filled with files so it's hard to state if we like it or not. It came in a decent timeframe, the quality is what I would expect to pay for an item like this. No damages were incurred. Possible buyers know that the inside is unfinished metal. There are no compartments in the top drawer, for instance. Handles were screwed in in about 5 minutes.

Good, solid filing cabinet

I bought two of these to use to store personal papers and homeschooling materials. They work great! The top and middle drawers lock tightly, leaving the bottom drawer unlocked and easily accessible. My only wish was that the keys were not all identical. But I was easily able to replace the locks with non-standard keyed locks and made me feel a bit more secure.

Highly Functional

The file cabinet was simple easy to order and it was delivered the day after I placed the order on line. It is incredibly easy to assemble as all I needed to do was attach the handles. It's lightweight and very functional for my home filing system. This is not a heavy duty file cabinet that should be expected to be used for major office wear and tear. But as a simple home filing cabinet to file personal files, it is perfect.

Comparing apples to apples, this is a great 3 drawer locking file cabinet for under 100. Is it a good solid place to keep you safe from nuclear blasts No. Most likely is wouldnt keep you safe from a foraging racoon. If youre looking for that extra security to keep the honest people out, this works. The top two drawers lock, the bottom doesnt. It looks decent probably better when I tighten the handle screws. I did add some contact paper to the top because this doubles as a side table in my tiny office (everything has to do double duty here). Shipping was just as expected and the item arrived just fine. Great start to ordering from Wayfair.

This product arrived safely. It was packaged well and in great condition. We simply wanted an inexpensive file cabinet to use in our home office. We didn't expect an incredibly sturdy product that would hold up to a lot of abuse. I don't think that this would hold up to a lot of abuse, but it is sturdy enough for our purposes and we were actually pleasantly surprised by it's quality. This product serves our needs very well.

This cabinet is good for the price. Its construction is solid but bare bones. For instance, the bottom of the drawers are not painted and have some contour to them. Also, the handles should have been installed higher on the faces. the bottom drawer handles is only an inch off the ground. However, the drawers slide in/out without much resistance and the top drawer is good for knick-knacks. finally, the drawers are just wide enough for hanging folders. The size is also good for slipping around a 30 inch desk. I would recommend them for purchase.

This cabinet is exactly as described. There are two reasons I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 5: First, the drawers do not pull out all the way. About 3-4 inches of the drawer is not exposed. Therefore you can not pack the drawer completely...you have to allow room to be able to slide the contents of the drawer forward to see what's filed in the back. Second, the drawer fronts are flimsy. You must use the handles to open & shut the drawers. The drawer fronts will bend if you open or shut them pulling on the drawer front itself. Fortunately, you can bend them right back. I would recommend these only if they're intended for light home office use, and only by adults.

The color is actually a bit lighter than the picture and its definitely grey. I wanted two drawers for files and having the smaller drawer is a bonus. Installing the handle was easy. I will say this doesn't come with the frame to hang the file so that is a separate purchase. The drawers also do not pull out the whole way. Happy though overall. Wayfair's customer service was incredible too! They get 5 stars just for that.
