Aluminum screen holds shape

For my application, I liked the fact that aluminum screen (compared to fiberglass screen) could be bent, formed, and shaped.

Unforgiving over 2' by 2' screens

I got this to work on one 2' x 2' screen, but when using a quarter to push the screen into the channel of the frame. I tried it in a larger frame using a screen roller tool to push the screen into the channel. The screen broke soon on the inside edge of the channel, which is not good because the screen is useless in that condition. I tried again with the larger screen using the quarter method, but that eventually ended in failure. Lots of screen was wasted. Fiberglass was much easier to use, and it worked every time.

Holes and blemishes.

The first 16" had 4 holes and several blemishes. I replaced a screen a screen only to find another blemish when I flipped it over. thank goodness it was for the garage.

Exactly what my project needed

I had some birds nesting in my attic through a vent hole they had managed to make. They had dropped grass and plant debris all over my attic along with many broken little bird eggs. Thank goodness no mangler damage was done. I patched up the hole with this screen and thank goodness nothing has gotten through yet. Metal and sturdy yet pliable. Exactly what I needed

Splitting and flaking

I purchased and came on here to see if other people had the same problem: there is an issue with this material splitting. It does not hold up to an ordinary spline tool, even with light pressure.

Easy to break during installation

The mesh is made of aluminum which doesn't have the ductility to handle the required extension when being press into the frame grooves by spline.

Quality Control Problems

The 25ft. roll I opened up had visible bowing and an irregular/wavy surface throughout. I thought I'd try to stretch it enough on the patio door frame to salvage it, but after careful installation (I'm a GC) it is unusable. Very obvious flaws in the material. Would not recommend!

Great window screen

It’s sturdy. Also, the charcoal color cuts down on glare and improves visibility out the window (vs uncoated aluminum).

Wish I’d read review about splitting

This keeps splitting when I try to push in the spline. Very frustrated and very unhappy with the product.

Tears during installation

Purchased this as a replacement for sliding door screen. It was packaged well and appeared it would easily do the job. But when I went to install it either recommended spline, it was impossible to get it to fit correctly. Also the screen tore quite easily when you pushed down. Using a plastic screen tool. It just wouldn’t go into the channel. It was just too large. So we opted to drive back to Lowe’s and get 0.12 spline. It worked much better, but still tore.
