This lock is a lot more substantial than it may look. It is very heavy and you could easily kill someone if you hit them with it. Good thing the outside is rubber coated so it will not scratch anything. It is pretty easy to set up and really is designed to be used by your phone. You can use a manual code if you want. To remove the shackle from the door or wherever you have it placed required the phone app. This prevents people from taking the lock if they have access to the key. Large buttons that light up make it easy to use even in the dark.

Actual Security in a lockbox

Though a bit pricey when compared to the mechanical type of contractor lockbox, this box is customizable to meet most needs. An app can be used to manage and open the box, you can also provide users with a code to open the box without an app. Best of all, the box requires a DIFFERENT code to release the shackle. Contrast this with the mechanical boxes available which can be broken into in less than 4 minutes (see YouTube video, it's really very easy) and once the box is open (even for someone to whom you gave the code for authorized use) it can be removed from the door knob where you installed it because once you have access to the key compartment, you also have access to the mechanical shackle release.

Not worth the trouble!

This item is not worth the trouble! The functionality is far from what the manufacturer boasts and the app is even less useful. Save your time, energy and frustration by purchasing the less expensive, manual version. It’s reliabke, and you know exactly what you’re lying for.

Overall this is a great product. It seems very durable and there is plenty of room to put a key card as well as several keys if needed. As a realtor, I use a lot of different lock boxes. Yes, you do have to download an application for your smart phone to use this product. I found the software easy to use, and intuitive. I changed the code several times without issues. I have not yet used the temporary codes or timed lock access. My main concerns before receiving this lockbox was how well will it hold up to high desert temperatures, and I was concerned what would happen if the battery died while attached to a property or with keys inside. They have a great design that allows you to simply hold a 9 volt battery against the contacts on the bottom of the lock as a sort of jump start to open the box is case of dead battery. Ingenious! Once you set the code it is easy to use the box, but it is a bit cumbersome to have to use software to change the code (unlike simple non-electric models). The price is a bit hefty if you can simply buy the old school combo boxes for $20 or less. Having the temp code is a big plus in case you want to allow a one time access or delete codes after workers come through a home for example. As someone who uses a lot of boxes, which are sometimes difficult to track, this box has a feature that shows on a map where it was last installed, so if you have several boxes out there, you can look to see where you last placed it so you don't forget boxes.
