Amazing product!

Amazing product! Create different codes for different users, even temporary codes. You can track all history data in the app on your mobile phone. If a user has not put the key back inside you know exactly who used it last, at what day and what time!

Top notch product

Beats sticking the spare key under the pot plant which is what I was doing till a few weeks ago.

Not suitable

Pretty ordinary can’t generate codes offline… need to be connected with Bluetooth which defeats the purpose. Not suitable filor airbnb and short term rentals. The temporary codes generated also work for 4 hours and have keep producing them.

Good quality lock with great functions, but you do pay for them

Great device, especially for an Airbnb, as you can have multiple codes (5 or 6) and it is all stored on your app. Minor downside if a key gets jammed in the door. This was a replacement after having the same lock for a period of 3 years before it stopped working

Great upgrade from mechanical digital lock box

Purchased this to replac a mechanical digital box for our AirBnB. This is a very worthwhile upgrade, more reliable than the mechanical box, and love that the keypad lights up, making it easy for users to see the numbers. Highly recommend.

The lock box was Heaven sent. Living so deep in the country it is not easy to have someone bring you a spare key should you lock yourself out (true story lol). Now we can unlock the box with a code or via the app for those that do not have a code. It’s simple and safe. No more trying to randomly find a hiding spot for a spare key. We also placed it discreetly in front of our ring doorbell to note if someone was attempting to open. The box also alerts you when there’s activity. Again Heaven sent!!! Not much to drilling to a column.

If the key has a ring on it, the ring will get caught in the hinge at the bottom of the lock box. The lock box can then not open. The advice from masterlock is hit it with a hammer on the right, that will loosen the key. Except, the right is against a wall. I was able to open it once after my guests couldn't get in late night. I was 30 minutes away. The second time it got caught, I have yet to remedy the situation. I can not remove the box from the wall until I somehow figure out how to hit it just right and it magically opens. I have spent hours trying to open this box. When it did work it was great and easy to use.

Junk. The whole point for having a Bluetooth function is to operate it remotely. After numerous attempts to make it work by sending invitations and acceptance by both my partner and me, the box never opens as programmed and must be either manually opened from the other end or the receiver must open it using the 5 digit code thereby overriding the security purpose. The last two attempts to open remotely by manual operation failed and the receiver had to use the code. Plus, we recently got the message that "Master Lock Vault Home replaces Master Lock Vault eLocks January 21, 2020". This version should never have been sold knowing that it would become obsolete within about one month after purchase. The box's performance gets a zero.

This is not simply a review but more of a warning. This product has faulty software. I have 4 of these. From the start there were issues in accessing the screens to change the secondary codes, it frequently would get stuck with no relief, but it got worse. I notice the boxes opening after only 2 of the 4 required pin numbers being entered. Sometimes they do not open with the correct numbers entered. When I change the secondary codes it will tell me they changed successfully, then not return to the main screen for review of these numbers. When walling away after prolonged waiting I find two troubling scenarios. 1 they did not change and reverted to the old numbers. 2 they did change but the phone held the wrong set of numbers. I've tried everything and that includes waiting 20 minutes for it to load while waking the lock continuously. I've called support several times but they cannot help. Their employee even said he only gets basic calls for installation and such, that he has no idea how to help me or who to send me to. The last one had me press 2 fingers on the steel casing and push which I found humorous as it does literally nothing. My hope is he as making it up to amuse himself or dodge the questions. He said there is a software update in Jan 2020 but there is no relief now and I doubt there would be then. I installed these on vacation homes and the time expended in trying to correct the flaws exceeds their values. My property has never been less secure. THe product is literally garbage and i an trying to facilitate the return after the holiday.

If you want a handy lock box, this one fits the bill. A homeowner can securely keep duplicated of house keys in case of lockouts. Real Estate Agents can use it for home showing. A great feature is that it can be used on your smartphone to unlock for ease of home access. It even hold key cards unlike conventional lock boxes. Its a lifetime purchase and well worth the money. Mounts on many surfaces securely. There's a key available if you forget your smartphone after downloading the app.

This works well once set up, but setup was a bit of a pain. I installed the app and setup an account, and waited for a verification code. After an hour, no verification code, so I resubmitted the request. The next day I still had not received the verification code, so I re-submitted the request again. 2 days later I got a verification, then another the next day, then another one 2 days later. Once I got verified, I tried pairing the device, which took 6 tries before it worked.

We have been trying to think of a place to hide a key outside of our home for some time, thinking that if we could think of a place, a burglar would already have thought of it. Along comes this Master Lock Vault, and there is no need to hide it. We have a need for one of these at our rural property also, but used this one on our home. This is a very heavy duty box and would be difficult to pry open. It still can be pried off of the brick wall on our house, but would require a crow bar. Before that happened, our security cameras would have sent us a message and a call would either be placed or I would be at the front door. I did use heavier duty, as well as much longer screws than those provided with the lock and would advise anyone else to do that.
