We came in looking for a FOGO bin that wasn't ugly, like the boring, grey, text-rich one provided by the council. After many years I have developed a great respect for Oxo products and this one, being slightly (only slightly) bigger than that the council number takes all the same-sized compostible bags from the supermarket. What's more, the lift-off lid-surround holds the bag securely and releases it easily for knotting and disposal, the lid providing an airtight seal and not falling off like the council one. Between collections it can go in the dishwasher. It works superbly and no offensive smells leak out. Makes FOGO easy and clean. Thoroughly recommended.

Recycling/composting aid

We compost all our vegetable waste and this handy container is very useful and practical. It's easily washed, holds lots of waste and looks good on the kitchen worktop. I have tried other makes in the past, but none match up to this

Works great

a bit expensive for what it is, but it's worked great for us so far. odor control works flawlessly. the other compost bin I used required two hands to open the lid, but this one is easy to open with one hand or even just the back of your hand, which is convenient when you're holding messy food scraps!

Keeps fruit flies down

I've been really impressed with the reduction in fruit flies after we started composting with the OXO bin. The lid stays tightly shut via gravity (the fit is really good), and I don't detect any smells. We empty about once a week.

Decent compost bin

This compost bin is sturdy, easy to clean, and simple to disassemble, fitting well in the kitchen. However, it retains smells and will likely need replacing over time. If you don't mind these downsides, it's a decent choice.

We needed a replacement part for this product which we already loved. OXO customer service replied really promptly and sent us a new one free of charge. This compost bin fits in our freezer perfectly, is sturdy and really easy to clean. It’s a great product and their customer service were fantastic!

Easy to clean, contains odors

This was exactly what I was looking for. Our town started a weekly compost pick up service and I wanted a bin to keep under the sink to add compost to throughout the week. It's very easy to clean, and it also keeps odors container while the lid is closed (it will still smell when you open the lid to add more compost).

Great. Keeps odors in and big enough to gather several days of meal debris. Small enough profile on counter as well.

Kitchen slicker

This slick looking waste bin was a vast improvement on the scruffy metal bin we had be using up to now. You almost feel guilty dumping your peelings in it.

Attractive enough to leave on the counter and very easy to clean. Lid slides off if needed. With lid down no smell from food scraps. Good small size, not bulky at all for the counters. Would recommend!

Really Pleased With This

Why council waste bins have to be so ugly I don't know. This is sleek and incredibly easy to clean as it doesn't have any weird nooks and crannies. Looks good on the kitchen counter and a 10ltr bag is perfect as you always have enough bag left to tie it comfortably. Wish I had upgraded sooner.

OXO Good Grips Easy Clean Compost Bin 6.6L White

Compact and discreet! Suits our white kitchen perfectly but I will attach a small white bead to the underside of the lid edge so it does not retain moisture from food scraps that sweat.

Looks great on the kitchen counter!

Looks nice sitting on the counter, easy to open and close with one hand, and odor free. We purchased 2.6 gallon compostable bags which fit perfectly inside allowing us to take the full bags to the organics recycling center. This oxo compost bin can be used with or without bags.

Looks good next to a ceramic sink. Smart and tidy, easy to keep clean. Would be even better with a removable inner to aid emptying into my compost heap, obviously I don't use bags. I am a little concerned the hinge on the lid may be a weak aspect of this product, I will treat carefully.

Worth the investment

A bit pricey, to be honest, but now that I have it I think that it is wonderful and worth every penny! it's easy to clean, fashionable (!!) and every bit a part of our daily lives now.

Practical, smart, good size snd easy to clean

This is our second one of these. The old one was green inside and so easy to clean - we had it for over 10 years. I loved it and I only threw it because it was scratched inside by an over zealous washer upper. The scratches made it hard to clean and it was unsightly. I had to search to find a replacement and this is still the best kitchen compost bin for us.

Does the Job

This compost bin holds a lot of food scraps and takes up only a little space on the counter. The lid stays open so if you are cooking you don't need to open it each time you want to put something in. It cleans nicely as well. I've had it a few months and it works great!

Great so far, time will tell

The bin contains odors nicely, and it’s easy to wash. The lid comes off altogether, so it’s easy to empty and easy to work directly over the bin when you’re doing something like prepping an onion for dicing. The plastic feels a bit brittle, though. I still worry about breakage.
